Where to watch NFL in London

March Madness

March 25, 2022 by nflinlondon

The NCAA basketball tourney might be getting all the heat during this spring spree, but the real March Madness is what’s coming out of the NFL offseason.

What the holy heck is going on in the league? Because it feels soooo good!

Elementary Watson

Deshaun Watson has finally found at home in Ohio, but not everyone is thrilled.

Despite not facing any criminal charges, the thigh rubbing ways of Watson is rubbing some fans the wrong way.

Deshaun gets paid big time, and the Browns finally have the baller that they need to compete in an ever dangerous AFC.

It shouldn’t surprise NFL fans that the stink bomb of Watson would follow him wherever he went.
Obviously a team in Las Vegas is going to care less about the issue than the Browns, because that would be the expected behaviour from a Raider.

Hopefully we can all get back to bitching about the Texans and Jets on their own merits.

Rodger Dodger

Maybe the real Last Dance was last year, as Aaron Rodgers slate of dance partners are sashaying off to find other boogie mates.

Davante Adams took less money to go to Vegas and play with Derek Carr, which shows that maybe the tight clique that they have had wasn’t as strong as we all believed.

With VD Scantling also off to greener pastures, Green Bay would have many receiving options they can afford (maybe Cole Beasley?)

Has Rodgers stance from last season come back to bit him in the ass? Or is he an ass for demanding so much money?

At least they’re coming to London.

Chief Concerns

Ruh Roh Patrick! Is everyone leaving you?

Kansas City Chiefs have had some concerns this week, as the Cheetah sprinted off to a nicer jungle, taking a massive pay raise with the Miami Dolphins.

Perhaps it was the signing of Tik Tok Tyrant Juju that put Tyreek over the edge, but whatever it was, the Chiefs had lost a massive talent.

Sure, Tyreek saw a drop in performance last year, but the whole Chiefs team did.

The real question is how are the Dolphins going to hit him with the deep ball?

Florida Tom

Tom Brady is back in Florida, and the Bucs are ready for another season.

But hold on! Rumours are circling the bowl that TB12 is going to play in Florida…but for the Dolphins!

Rumours earlier this season that Tom was moving to Miami, only to stop that train once Brian Flores threw down his ‘Fuck you Miami’ speech.

With Flores off to Pittsburgh, the whispers continue that Tommy might still make a trade to the Fins, and give the Bucs plenty if trade picks.

While it sounds sweet, it would be hard to see recent Tampa signings like Godwin and Gage happy that Tommy squirted off to another sunset.

No Charges

There’s only one NFL team that has had ZERO arrests over the past five years, and that team is the LA Chargers.

The Chargers have also had ZERO fans over this same period, so the figures aren’t totally surprising.

Las Vegas blew the wad on arrests last year, making the Raiders head office and locker rooms a great source of inmate potential.

Lucky for Los Angeles, they have made a bunch of signings in the off season, so those arrest records could be climbing up any week now.

Bucking Colts

The Falcons showed their cards when they said they would go all in for Deshaun Watson, not something their veteran QB Matt Ryan wanted to hear.

No surprise then that Matty Ice got stone cold on ATL, and asked to fly, fly, fly.

The stars aligned pretty good for Matty with the Indianapolis Colts, who have had a sucky QB for the past few years.

While past ball-slingers who rolled into Indy might have been on their last legs, Ryan could be the QB that gets the Colts further than turding it out during their first playoff game.

Might be worth throwing £10 on the Colts winning the AFC as a cheeky bet!

London Games

Packers and Saints are hosting home games at Tottenham, and the Jaguars are once again playing in Wembley.

But who do they play and when?

We will have all of our predictions for you next week!

Spree Agency

March 16, 2022 by nflinlondon

Just when you thought that the NFL off season couldn’t get any more wild, we get the week that was.

Brady is back, Wentz is whimping in Washington, and Baker Mayfield is whining again.

Let’s take a look at some of the top NFL things that happened in Spree Agency this week.

Brady is Back

Hold my beer Aaron, the real GOAT is back in action.

After watching the Packers commit crazy money to Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady looked at it all and said ‘now they’re broke, I think I’m ready to return.’

Tommy must really hate his family, after all, why would he retire, then spend with his clan, only to return a few weeks late like ‘screw this crap.’

Luckily, the UK played a role in TB12’s return, as it was a trip to Old Trafford with the Glazers that solidified Tom’s return to Tampa.

Nothing like Cristiano Ronaldo looking at you and saying ‘are you really done old man?’ to get those juices flowing again.

Getting Randy

Randy Gregory was a beast on the Cowboys, adding to the ferocity that was a D that kept them in games.

Despite ‘Dem Boyz touting the return of Gregory to the fold, he quickly doused that rumour and signed with the Broncos this week.

Jerry Jones is said to be livid that he isn’t able to hold on to all the toys that he can no longer afford.

At the end of the day it was the tone of the contract, rather than the digits that swayed Gregory to switch over to the Broncos.

That Denver team keeps getting better.

Safety Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens added to their inept D by grabbing a steal from the Saints in safety Marcus Williams.

This shut down man finally gets paid, after being previously franchise tagged in New Orleans.

Williams will be happy to get 5 years of $70 million smackers, but he also gets to be the top dawg in a D that showed signs of promise last season.

Deshaun Lottery

It’s panty dropping time for some of the teams, as they show off their goods in hopes of securing the talents of QB Deshaun Watson.

The Browns, Saints and Falcons are all emerging as top landing spots for Watson, despite the fact that the NFL might still decide that he has penance coming his way.

The 26 year old still has 22 outstanding civil lawsuits pending, which are almost 1 for every year of his young life.

Whoever lands Watson will see their Super Bowl odds jump dramatically.

Landing Gage

No sooner did TB12 announce his return to the league, then the Bucs made a run for a division rival WR.

Speedster Russell Gage will provide a nice compliment to Chris Godwin, as the Bucs add key talent to their roster to make another run at the title this year.

Packers fans must be confused, how can a team get a top QB..AND new players.

What? Do they have money or something?

Packing the Wallet

Speaking of the Packers, there are already money problems coming from the land o’cheese, as Devante Adams is becoming Deviante Adams in his responses to the front office.

Adams is not only not happy with the tag, but also the paltry money being offered for his services this season.

While he did commit to being with his boy Aaron, how much is he expected to suck up to make sure that Rodgers is happy?

Jagging It

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been a running joke for the past decade, but will their off season moves finally mean some wins in the season?

The Jags are all-in behind Trevor Lawrence, and have spent some flashy cash in the past week adding some talent to support him.

Jacksonville splashed almost $200m on 6 free agents, apparently forgetting that you can attempt to negotiate with players for better deals.

Will it add up to wins?  It hasn’t thus far.

London Games

The London matches should be announced very shortly.

We will keep you all in the loop with the NFL in London news, as well as some of our plans for the 2022 London games.

Rough Trades

March 12, 2022 by nflinlondon

The off season continues to chug a long at its March pace, and then last week happened, adding a whole lot of drama to the NFL.

Deals, trades, and releases o’plenty this week in the league, as players got paid, and got laid..off, in another shakin’ bakin’ week in the NFL.

Wade and Ryan look at all of the league news in their latest podcast, called Rough Trades.

NFLinLondon · Rough Trades-Ep 192

Rodgers

Way to go Packers! You did the dirty deed and got the Rodgers deal done.

Green Bay should be playoff contenders in 2022, and are already fan faves because of their London trip scheduled for this fall.

Aaron and Devante now make up 25% of Green Bay’s overall salary, which means that the other 50 players get the other 75%. Sounds a bit like capitalism!

Anything less than a Superbowl win over this next few years will feel like a massive failure.

Wentz

On the other end of the spectrum is Carson Wentz, who blew the wad big time when he failed to take a prime Colts team to the post season.

Wentz has a bad rep on pretty much every team that he ends on, and his anti vax stance might make him a pariah on most teams.

Indianapolis is able to offload Wentz to the Commanders, but who will lead them to victory in the 2022 season?

Wade & Ryan think Matt Ryan, Ryan Fitzpatrick, or Jimmy G will all be better upgrades to compliment that fierce rushing game.

Russ Cooks

Russell Wilson is finally away from Seattle, and off to the mile high lifestyle of the Broncos in a major trade this week.

Russ suffered his first losing season last year, while Teddy Bridgewater was able to sling together some wins in an impressive depressing season for Denver.

The Seahawks are going to need more than Drew Lockett, and all signs point to them going hard after Deshaun Watson.

Joe Buck Off

Joe Buck gets paid!

If you haven’t seen the hilarious sports series ‘Brockmire’ starring Hank Azaria, then you should watch it only for his countless Joe Buck burns.

To be honest, if you don’t like Joe Buck, then you might actually like him after watching the series.

Here are some of the funniest lines from the show.

Joe Buck got paid this week, after leaving FOX Sports for ESPN in a major deal that sees him reunite with Troy Aikman.

Broadcasters are going nuts this week, offering pundits big money paydays to front big sports shows.

Do fans really care though?
Anyone watching the NFL in a bar could care less about what these guys say, as they are busy watching 4 games at once.

Just a sign that everything in the NFL is going overboard since our return from COVID.

Lamar

Lamar Jackson is apparently ghosting the Baltimore Ravens as his contract negotiations draw near.

The former player of the year has struggled in the past few season, despite Harbaugh and the Ravens committing to him in public and on the field.

With Kyler Murray struggling to get a big deal, it might be that the Ravens are feeling him out to see if this will be Lamar’s last season in The Wire.

Saves them a heck of a lot of money in the long run if he turns to bust.

London Games

Packers, Jaguars and Saints are heading to London this year!

Who are they playing and when? We don’t know all of that yet, but will keep you in the loop for everything NFL in London.

We are looking to host some big parties, tailgate events around the London games, and more fan fun as the spectre of COVID disappears and normality returns to some degree.

We are looking forward to a bigass year of NFL action in London, hope you can join us for this wild ride.

Memes A Plenty

March 9, 2022 by nflinlondon

Hear that silence?
It’s the NFL season slowly deflating like a ball in the Patriots locker room.

While the frenetic energy of the NFL season is still a scant 5 months away, we have been treated to some great NFL news to tide us over.

Of course, the best way to keep in touch with the NFL season, is just to check out all the wonderful memes that are floating around.

We have collated and curated some of the best, most recent ones, in our Memes A Plenty post.

Among some of the top meme news that gets touched on here includes.

Aaron Rodgers is Back

The Packers finally caved like Putin wished the Ukrainians would, and relented to the onslaught of Aaron’s agent.

The deal will make the 38 year old Packer the highest paid player in the NFL, and guarantee that he will take up 22% of their entire budget.

That’s a lot of dosh for a guy who chokes out of the playoffs ever year, and is totally lacking the supporting crew to make up the rest of the team.

Davante Adams is good, but are both players worth a third of your entire budget? No.

The Packers need to win this year, or they will be hella broke for a long time.

Denver Russ

Russell Wilson is finally cooking again, after a massive trade deal to the Denver Broncos.

Despite head coach Pete Carroll saying that they were not going to get rid of Russ, they quickly shipped him off, taking Drew Lock and some change in the deal.

An ugly deal all around that will see both teams still struggling as a result.

London Games

You ready for some NFL London?

Games are still set for this fall, and we know that the Packers, Saints and Jaguars…and Aaron Rodgers will be finally set to make an appearance across the pond.

We will have more details about NFL parties and all that jazz as the games get closer.

NFL Draft

Are you interested in watching the 2022 NFL Draft?

We will be working with some venues to make sure that you can catch the draft until the wee hours.

USFL

Are you interested in watching the USFL? So are we.

We are working with some venues and potentially the league to show some of the games throughout the season here in the UK.

Feel free to get in touch if you’re keen.

Scoff Season

March 3, 2022 by nflinlondon

Well, that’s it for the 2021 NFL season.
Did it go as you expected?

Congrats once again to the LA Rams, and to our man Wade for picking them to win at the start of the season!
Great payoff!

Now that the NFL is done for the next 6 months, what the heck do we do now?

Well, there’s the USFL coming our way in April, a war in Ukraine, and whatever the heck the Raiders have planned for the offseason (probably more deaths than in Ukraine).

Wade & Ryan are back in action for our latest podcast, where they talk about this Scoff Season.

NFLinLondon · Scoff Season-Ep 191

Among some of the things that the guys discuss in this episode includes:

London Games

Hooray! More games for us!

The NFL announced that the following teams will be hosting games in London in 2022. The New Orleans Saints, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Green Bay Packers.

For those of you counting, that’s the first trip across the pond for the cheese-heads, and should tickle the marbles of any Wisconsinite this side of Illinois.

While we don’t know who these will be playing (you can see our picks in another article), we do have our guesses.

Regardless, the UK will be A-ok in 2022 with 6 teams coming to visit us.

Rodgers That

What the heck does the dastardly Aaron Rodgers have planned for the 2022 season?

More vaxy lies for us?

This wannabe $50 million dollar man has been coy about his plans for this season, and his said that he will give us the goods in the next few weeks to not draw us out over the summer (thanks).

The Packers will need to pony up $75M for both players, which is about a 1/3 of their total salary cap.

All that just to choke out in the NFC playoffs?

TB22

Tom Brady is retired…or is he?

Tommy Boy left the Bucs after getting dumped out by Matt Stafford and the champion Rams.

But does he still have some gas left in the tank for another run?

He is a SoCal boy, so maybe the 49ers will come calling.

We will have more NFL news about the London games, as well as all the fun things to do in the capital once you’re here!
Watch this space.
