Week 13 Picks Podcast

December 3, 2022 by nflinlondon

It’s December you snowflakes, as we bring you our Week 13 Picks Podcast.

Wade & Ryan have been busy in the toy shed making their predictions for this next slate of games as the ground starts to harden in the league and around us all.

To say it’s been a bizarre season would be an understatement, as legends have faltered, new heroes have emerged, and the Eagles are 10-1. Who would have thunk?

With that in mind, the boys look at the more interesting matchups for Week 13 in the 2022 NFL season, with fun anticipation that anything can happen.

Here’s the link so that you can get the full Week 13 Picks Podcast.

NFLinLondon · Week 13-Ep 226

Jets (7-4) vs -1.5 Vikings (9-2)  +44.5

The Jets and Vikings have surprised us all with their stellar start to the 2022 season.
Despite being Zach Wilson’d with a solid core, New York has found their way with a flash of Mike White.
Minnesota is shining bright under the light of one Justin Jefferson, while Cousins still shirks like a vampire in the shine of primetime.

New York has brought back Mike to lead the way after a beatdown of the Bears worthy of an Aaron Rodgers belt.
It’s the Jets D that has really kept them in games, and with 7 wins and the Patriots taking one on the chin from the Bills, a W here could start to set some separation.

No one believes in the Vikings, as if their wins are somehow as mythical in tally.
Kirk Cousins can still make some bonehead moves, but with a offence like his, he can pretty much fail to win.

Ryan likes Minnesota to swing their Viking hammer at home, knocking back the White-ness to reality with a display of scoring. He believes that the hype will be enough to beat the Jets.

Wade is backing the Jets here to upstart the shaky Minnesota miracles. The D will shake up the cousin flicking festival, and use their running game to keep themselves competitive.

Ryan- Vikings 29 Jets 24
Wade- Jets 30 Vikings 28

-1 Jaguars (4-8) vs Lions (4-7)  57.5

With a game boasting a 57 plus point total, Las Vegas knows that this match is gone to be a slugfest.
Both teams lack the D to deliver, and they’re both on an upward ascent of winning time.

Trevor Lawrence finally looked like an NFL star, leading his team down the field like a real leader.
Finally. It’s been along time coming, but can he sling together a series of wins after too many years of rebuilding?

Detroit has been hard-knocking their way back to the wins, as Dan Campbell has got his Lions ready to roar in this battle of the big cats.

Ryan likes Detroit here to upset the Jaguars at home, and bite out a chunk from the Jacksonville junkies.

Wade is also big on the Lions, betting that the running game and speedy receiver match-ups will be a sure source of fantasy picks.

Ryan- Lions 30 Jaguars 27
Wade- Lions 33 Jaguars 26

-5.5 Browns (4-7) vs Texans (1-9-1)  +47.5

Let’s talk about the Deshaun in the room shall we?

Buried beneath the big games, the NFL snuck us back the return of disgraced quarterback Deshaun Watson to face the team we wanted to leave.
You don’t mess with Texas.

Whatever the boo’s or shenanigans organised to shame this young man, it’s still an NFL game so show some respect.

Respect is something the Browns don’t have for themselves as they have blundered their way through some pretty easy picks and opportunities over the past few years.
Watson has a chance to at least hobble together a team that has Amari Cooper, and an underused running duo in Chubb and Hunt.

No respect at all for the Texans. Only Rodney Dangerfield could run a team with no respect all the way down.  Davis Mills is gone, so its on Pearce to run the ball up the line.

Ryan likes the Browns to get through the boo’s and get the win, although he thinks that the hometown Texas faithful will rally them to cover.

Wade has the Browns coming together to support Watson, and Cleveland getting a win to save some face.

Ryan- Browns 24 Texans 22
Wade- Browns 27 Texans 21

Week 4 Picks

October 1, 2022 by nflinlondon

Welcome to London everyone, as the NFL makes its way to the English capital for the first of a 3 game set.

It’s all eyes on the big smoke this Sunday, as the Saints and Vikings battle it out in north London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It’s going to be a wet and windy day with no Jameis, but that won’t stop the fans from enjoying another great game here in the UK.

With all of this excitement, Wade & Ryan bash out their Week 4 picks, in another ribald podcast of adventure.
If you want to listen to the full podcast of picks, just click here and share with all your mates.

NFLinLondon · Week 4 Picks-Ep 214

Which games are you looking for on Sunday?

Vikings (2-1) -3 vs Saints (2-1) +43.5

Are you ready for some football London? It’s the first big game in the city, as we contend with transit strikes, the London marathon, and the wet and wild remnants of hurricanes from across the pond.
Historically these games are low scoring? How about this one?

Ryan likes the Likes here to take advantage of a humbled Saints team that’s missing a whole bunch of pieces. Minnesota has a compliment of speedsters on their squad who can cause havoc for the Saints D all day long, and will look to feast on the ravaged Saints.

Wade thinks that this is going to be a slow, grinding game. With many young players travelling abroad for the first game, London games historically start slow…and maybe continue that way.
Low scoring, but D focused, Wade likes the Saints to keep it close.

Ryan-Vikings 27 Saints 17
Wade-Saints 20 Vikings 17

LA Chargers (1-2) -5 vs Texans (0-2-1) +44.5

What the what Chargers? We thought you guys were supposed to be beasts this year? Maybe they forgot the ‘s’?
LA has struggled to achieve the heights of expectation, while the Texans are exactly where we thought they would be.

Ryan likes a get right game for the Chargers, with a chance to flourish against a hapless Houston squad.
It’s time for JH to ‘light it up.’

Wade agrees that this is the chance to feel better by beating up on the Texans, to get your head right.
The Texans have too much of nothing to be something, and 2022 will burn on like another familiar season.

Ryan-Chargers 28 Texans 17
Wade-Chargers 28 Texans 14

Seahawks (1-2) vs -4 Lions (1-2) +41.5

Eeesh, this battle of 1-2 teams is a match suited for a next day, 40 minute recap.

Seattle has been barely bubbling under Geno Smith, while the running game actually starts to take hold.
Pete Carroll needs to make some statements that the kitchen is still clean, even if the cook is long gone.

Everyone and their monkey uncle thought that the Lions would be top of the pops this year, after getting the feels from them on HBO’s Hard Knocks.
Dan Campbell is fuelled by caffeine and has the energy to rock any joint, so what’s happening?

Ryan thinks this is a good chance for the Lions to grab the mane, and the win in a tight game versus Seattle.

Wade too thinks that this will be a close game, that will start out with a Lions roar, but eventually the sea birds will sog their way back to keep it close.

Ryan- Lions 24 Seahawks 20
Wade-Lions 28 Seahawks 26

Jaguars (2-1) vs -6.5 Eagles (3-0) +48.5

Who would have thunk that this would be the game of the week that everyone is keen to watch?
The Eagles are pouring on the points, while the Jaguars have finally emerged from the multiverse with a calibre squad.
It’s the Doug Pederson revenge game! How cold will this dish be served?

Ryan is jagging up that hill, buoyed by their recent wins, he thinks that TL and the boys can shake out a win here. He likes the Jaguars to upset in a tight one.

Wade isn’t convinced that Trevor can spoil Jalen’s day. The Eagles D and Hurts’ legs have made short work of many an opponent. This one could get ugly.

Ryan-Jaguars 27 Eagles 24
Wade-Eagles 38 Jaguars 20

That’s it for our week 4 picks, make sure that you listen to the podcast to get all of our picks, with some cheeky laughs as well.

August Headlines

August 2, 2022 by nflinlondon

It’s official, there will be NFL games played this month.
Sure, they will be preseason, but football is back baby!

It wouldn’t be an off-season, without a bit of drama-and boy did the 2022 soft months provide a lot of entertainment!

Let’s take a look at some of the big news in our August Headlines!

Deshaun

The league has finally laid down it’s iron-fist ruling in the NFL vs Deshaun Watson, and the league has ruled…6 games!

Six? Only six Why not more? What not less? What about Calvin Ridley? What if he blew pot smoke in their faces instead? Would be get a season?

The judge ruled that Watson wasn’t violent, but did still must miss 6 games in penance for his groping actions.

It’s been a long road for Watson, the League, fans and of course all of the women who have made the accusations.
Let’s not forget it all started with Watson demanding a trade from the Texans, and the owner and many fans reminding Deshaun not to ‘mess with Texas’.

You wrestle the bull, you get the horns.

No one will be happy with this outcome because it’s been such a stain over the past year.

Hopefully we can all get on with some football, and the Browns can get back doing what they do best…disappoint their fans.

London Tickets

Tickets for the London games went on sale and flew off the digital shelves.

Did you get tickets, or were you beaten to the punch by digital ticket touts?

While we have heard some truly horrific ticketing stories, experience teaches us it all works out in the end.

With a few months to go until the London games, there will likely be more tickets released, as well as circumstances in which fans can’t make it, making their tickets available.

Be patient, watch the Facebook pages and fan groups, and don’t buy from scalpers. You will definitely be sad if you do.

Fantasy 2022

It’s time for another NFL Fantasy season, which means it’s time to start doing your research.

Some fans like to do their NFL Fantasy Draft now, which makes you quite the silly sausage.

Sure, it’s exciting to be able to start making up your line-ups, but preseason hasn’t even begin yet!
There is still plenty of time for injuries, insight and idiocy to see players burn and turn themselves out of the season before it even begins.

Be patient young grasshopper, the season is long.

Buc’ing Knee

Sad news for the TB Bucs, as starting centre for Ryan Jensen blew out his knee in epic preseason form, making Tommy B vulnerable to start the 2022 season.

As mentioned above (preseason injuries) can wreck havoc on a lockeroom, as the guys you thought would be your pillars, are instead relegated to the bench.

Robert Hainsey will try to jump into the role despite only being in his second year.

Will the Bucs be using bondo and duct tape to make a 2023 playoff run?

It’s starting to look that way.

Pay Deebo

Despite being used in a utility role by the 49ers last season, Deebo wasn’t paid for his jack of all trades-ness.

After complaining to San Fran that he wanted to get paid, and not crippled-they 49ers threw a load of cash at Deebo in a 3 year deal with $58 mil guaranteed and up to $73m in specialness.

Injuries forced San Fran to use Deebo in a more ‘help us’ role last season as the team got snaked by injuries, will they be looking to use him in this capacity this year?

Not if they want to keep him alive.

There’s lots of cash being thrown around the league at speedsters teams hope will lead their teams. Is Deebo going to be too much cash to splash?

Boz Man

Chris Boswell put it through the uprights this week, inking a massive 4 year, $20.5m deal that will see him guaranteed $12.5m, and tying him with Justin Tucker as the highest paid kicker in the NFL.

It’s a far cry from 2015, when Boswell had already been cut by the Steelers three times, and was slotted as fourth on Pittsburgh’s kicking roster.

The 31 year old Boswell has ‘no pressure’ on him this year.

Would you rather have Boswell or Tucker on your fantasy team?
Exactly.

Watch this space, as we will have some NFL Fantasy news for you to make your season fun!

June Memes

June 3, 2022 by nflinlondon

It’s June already! Yea ha! That means that training camp is only a few warm months away.

If you’re like us, you have been trying to suck the NFL juices out of everything in the news-whether it was the Amber-Depp drama, end of the Premier League, or even the Queens Jubilee.
‘Will AB show up?’

To celebrate some of the funny situations going on in the league, we have some funny June Memes to get your NFL going on.

Among some of the fun news shaking in the League right now:

The Match

Did you watch this epic match-up between Brady-Rodgers vs Allen-Mahomes?
It was a fantastic trash-talking golf match, that saw all 4 QBs dropping golf balls on the fans in a hilarious ‘Fore!’ off in Vegas.

Brady and Rodgers not only won the match, but also the trash talking-as Brady finds his funny on his march to retirement.

Aaron was also quick to slip in that he thinks about retirement ‘every day’, which should come as a shock to many Packers fans.

Fitz Out

Sad news for Fitzy fans, as the bearded one-Ryan Fitzpatrick finally calls in quits in the NFL.

Despite having to play for only a few more teams to have led them all, Fitzy used Washington as his last pit stop before taking his bushy self to woodshed.

Mr Harvard will be sadly missed in the league, but it would be stupid of all the networks to not recognise the gold that Fitz would bring to the broadcast booth.

We would rather have Fitz in the box for $10 million, than old TB12 shucking it out for $175m.

Madden

The new Madden will feature the OG himself, John Madden to commemorate his passing.

Hopefully the game will feature some old school functions itself-as the original game was often more fun to play than the button mashing madness of the newer versions.

Here are the memes you filthy animals!

May Memes

May 18, 2022 by nflinlondon

Wowza! What a crazy few weeks its been in the NFL!

Loads of big NFL news to tap into, but we thought we would kick it all off with some tasty NFL May Memes.

Memes are delish, and help content providers encapsulate the feels, with an image. Bless all those unsung heroes who are able to do the good work, when there is so much bad in the world.

Among some of the hot topics touched on in this set.

London Games

Yes! 3 games in London this season, and we got some games!
While we were wrong in our predictions, we didn’t fare too badly.

All the London game info up soon.

Jerry Jeudy

And just like that, another NFL speedster gets the heave ho after breaking the law.

Jed can look forward to going his ‘Bama teammate Henry Ruggs in the cell of shame.

2022 Schedule

The 2022/23 schedule has been released, and it’s looking good for some teams, while another tough schedule ahead for some of the big guys.

All eyes are on the Buffalo Bills this season, as the odds on faves to win it all.

Here are some of the memes for ya, you filthy animals.
