Week 7 Preview

October 18, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 7 Preview podcast is up and live.
This week, Wade is joined by our own Brit Callum Squires, who lived in Texas for a few years and became indoctrinated into the football scene there.

Callum was at both Tottenham NFL games & was thrilled by the games there. They talk those matches, the upcoming Wembley games & the refs.
Listen, love, share.

Callum and Wade break down all the NFL games so that you don’t have to.

They look at all of the NFL games for week 7 including:

Texans (4-2) vs (-1) Colts (3-2) + 47.5
The Colts are fresh off a bye week, while the Texans can rest after beating the hapless Chiefs last week. Will Jacoby Brisett be ready for this week? Callum takes the Texans, while Wade takes the puppy Colts this week.

(-2) Vikings (4-2) vs Lions (2-2-1)
The Lions weer robbed last week, will they recover this week to atone for bad refs? Callum has the Vikings to win this, while Wade thinks that the Lions will eat this to devour the Vikings this week.

Raiders (3-2) vs (-5.5) Packers (5-1) + 47
Can the Raiders use their bye week to surpass the Pack this week? The Packers lost loads of WRs to injuries, so who can catch the ball?
Both Wade & Callum think the Packers should stomp them with a superior running game.

(-9.5) 49ers (5-0) vs Redskins (1-5) 41.5
The Redskins won! So how good are they? Not good enough for this fast front 4 of San Fran, who will punish the Skins this week once again.
Both Wade & Callum don’t see good scores here for the Skins.

TNF-Chiefs vs Broncos

October 17, 2019 by nflinlondon

Ruh roh ‘Raggy, the Chiefs have lost 2 in a row, will they lose again?
Let’s jump in the Mystery Machine & figure out how this game is going to hurt the Chiefs.

The Chiefs have shown their weaknesses, & the heat they brought last year is now more of a simmer.
His ankle looks to be weak, and his O-line has been replaced to the point they don’t have the full ability to protect him.
Remember when he would juke, junk, and then left side toss a ball for a gain of 8?
That doesn’t happen anymore.
Austerity is here.

The Broncos are at home, which only matters because of the thin air, that is also packed with weed smoke.
(most of the crowd are on edibles)
But, the Broncos can defend at home, and their D looks much improved and focused, with Von Miller packing on the pressure.
Win this game, and the Broncos are in the hunt.
Lose it, and Denver might start looking to sell the parts.

Denver needs to run the ball.
The Chiefs have struggled here, and Phillip Lindsay should tear through the Chiefs D like a Japanese wall.

Denver has the aggression and home stance, and the Chiefs just lost at home 4 days earlier.
Will their new QB rally them to victory?
Probably not.
The Chiefs should take an early lead, but the second half will be all horsey.
Watch the Broncos tighten the D, switch more to the running game, and check down each drive to punts.

Chiefs might win, but the Broncos should cover.

Lions vs Packers

October 16, 2019 by nflinlondon

Who likes garbage?
Nobody except NFL referees, as they tossed garbage around the field in the name of penalties.

This was an atrocious day for refereeing in the NFL and they should either be shamed, blamed, benched or fired.
Having ref’d a few high school games in my day, even I would walk off the field if I was dinged for a ‘too many men on the field’ call.

The Detroit Lions feel robbed, and rightly so.
The officiating in the NFL is getting worse, how does this happen?
How do we have more scrutiny on the game and in their ears, and they continue to make horrible and dishonest calls.

Either they’re too dumb, or they’re on the take.
When you’re making $200,000 a year, your eyes and your ears should be on form for the game, but not these guys.

Someone needs to start a ledger of which refs continually screw up, and then trash them.

It’s really starting to ruin the game, and someone has to do something.

Now the Packers are 5-1. Way to go refs!

Week 6 Picks

October 13, 2019 by nflinlondon

It’s week 6 already!
How are you doing in your NFL picks?
You making money?
Well you should. There have been a few easy weeks, and our man Wade McElwain has been ripping up some successful weeks on the books.

Here are his picks for Week 6 in the NFL

(-2.5) Carolina Panthers (3-2) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3) +48.5

When these two teams played in Week 2, it was a whole different story. A sweaty Thursday night where the Bucs stuffed Christian McCaffrey and Chris Godwin got loads of yards.
Why wouldn’t we expect more of the same this week?
Peyton Barber should be able to open some holes if he can get some good slot passes, as that front Panthers D is a bit of a tough nut to crack.
Kyle Allen is going to face pressure all day from Shaq Barret-making it a bit of a headache for him.
Look for a few sacks from the Shaq master.
It will be wet, windy and wild.
Bucs should be able to repeat again a slippery affair.

Houston Texans (3-2) vs (-4.5) Kansas City Chiefs (4-1) +55.0

The Chiefs lost? Has the world imploded?
The Indianapolis Colts choked the Chiefs in a testament game in Week 5, giving everyone a template on how it can be done.
So will the Texans be able to replicate this effort?
Definitely.
KC took a lot of injuries last week, and who knows if Patrick Mahomes will be 100% healthy.
He is facing and Texans defense that is growing with intensity each week.
The Chiefs D has yet to face a QB like Deshaun Watson this season, who will have plenty of time to open up the ball downfield to his talented receivers.
KC could be facing their second loss in a row.

San Francisco 49ers (4-0) vs (-3) LA Rams (3-2) +50.5

What’s going on with the LA Rams? Is the glory hole starting to close?
One thing that hasn’t been closing is their O-Line, which has been porous all season.
Jared Goff has hardly had any time, and no he faces the 49ers.
San Fran has a fierce front, who looks to stomp on Goff and shut down any run through their way.
Breida and Coleman should team up for a run down on the Rams, who will put up points, but inevitably go down.
49ers for the win.

(-2.5) Atlanta Falcons (1-4) vs Arizona Cardinals (1-3-1) +51.5

The Texans whooped the Falcons last week with 53 points against their tired D.
Whatever the Falcons told each other last season when they fell apart, they obviously didn’t listen.
Will they have a better chance against the struggling Cardinals?
Doubtful. Matt Ryan will still put up 300+ yards, but when it keeps coming back the other way, it’s like a hole in a boat.
Kyler Murray & David Johnson should have a great game.
Cardinals to win.

(-8) Dallas Cowboys (3-2) vs New York Jets (0-4)

Cough, cough, Sam Darnold is back from his kissing disease vacation, so how will he fare against this Dallas D?
The Cowboys took a moustache ride on Aaron Rodgers last week, who picked them apart like a turkey dinner. (Happy Thanksgiving Canada!)
If Jones was able to run holes through Dallas, what about Le’veon Bell?
He should have his first big game this season against ‘Dem Boyz who still might be smarting from that home spanking.
Dallas should win the game, but 8 points?
Doubtful.

We will be adding some new gambling functionalities in the next few weeks, so you can take our picks.
Watch this space .
