Wade’s Picks

January 11, 2020 by nflinlondon

Weekend Picks Against the Spread

It’s Divisional Weekend in the NFL, so I thought I would share my picks for this weekend.

There are some pretty damn tight games, as well as some pretty high spreads-which means this one will be tricky when getting the point spreads and the overs right.
I also always like to check the weather, as that will affect the over/under in most games-as it’s tough to score in snow!
Luckily it looks like a pretty placid weekend, even in Green Bay.

If you want to take my picks, head over to BetRegal-where they have some great offers for NFL divisional weekend. Take my picks and win big.

We also have a DraftKings contest on this weekend, so see if you can win big in that one as well.

So here are my picks for the weekend.

Saturday

Vikings (11-6) vs -7 49ers (13-3) +45

The Vikings and 49ers seem to be at opposite ends of the playoff spectrum. The Vikings started sluggish, then rebounded near the end of the season, while the Niners crushed everyone to start, before giving up a few suspect losses.
Yes, the Vikings do have momentum and a healthy line-up heading down to the Bay area.
The 49ers have played extremely well at home, and with that extra week off-will be anticipating the deep ball threat of the Vikes.
The big difference here is going to be the 49ers front 7 vs Kirk Cousins.
If you can get to Kirk, the offence is going to fall apart. He’s not a scrambling QB, so if they can get him on his back feet-they will score.
I like the Vikings to keep it closer than the 7 point spread, but these Niners with a week off will be too much to handle.
George Kittle will have a great game as well.
VIKINGS COVER

Titans (10-7) vs -9.5 Ravens (14-2) + 47

How do you solve a problem like Lamar Jackson? You don’t.
He is too fast, too smart, and has incredible QB IQ.
I think even Dr. Strange would need to go through multiple universe possibilities to see how the Titans can beat the Ravens.
Sure, they beat a hobbled Tom Brady and the Patriots last weekend, but the Pats averaged more yards than they did.
With a week off, and plenty of film to review the Ravens will be focused on shutting down Henry & Tannehill.
Henry will be tough, because he can pretty much through everything.
Tannehill on the other hand will be suspect to some huge pass rushes and a fierce secondary looking for loose balls meant for AJ Brown.
The Titans might be able to score on a scripted play early on, but the Ravens will pile on the pressure.
This one could be over by halftime.
RAVENS WIN

Sunday Games

Texans (11-6) vs -9.5 Chiefs (12-4) + 50.5

Looking for points? This game promises loads of them, as Patrick Mahomes heads to home field with a week off.
The Texans were able to overcome a plucky Bills team to steal a victory last week, but can they do it this week?
No way.
The Chiefs have a healthy roster back, and redemption in mind after their loss to the Texans this season.
Kansas has also improved on its D, with many healthy bodies back in the fold.
Can’t see anyway that the Texans will do anything but crumble under pressure in this game.
CHIEFS WIN

Seahawks (12-5) vs -4 Packers (13-3) +46.5

The Packers are 13-3 with a bye, but did they really whoop anyone this year?
Is anyone really scared of the Packers?
Yeas, they have home field advantage and the Seahawks have sucked at Lambeau in the past, but this game will be more than about that.
The Seahawks continue to grow in confidence, even with huge injuries to their running game.
Marshawn might be old and crusty, but he still can power run through some tough lines and is great in the redzone.
The Seahawks easily cruised through the Philly D, and there’s no reason to suspect that they won’t do the same here.
Russell Wilson should gash up yards running from the Packers D, who have trouble with QBs of his pedigree.
I originally thought that the Seahawks might be able to cover, but now I am confident that they can win.
SEAHAWKS WIN

It’s central London on a Saturday-it gets nutty.

But that doesn’t mean the season is over! There’s a whole lot of NFL left to play.

To summarise some of our thoughts on the Wildcard Weekend in the NFL.

Bills vs Texans

Way to blow it Buffalo, your second half collapsed quicker than a homemade horse costume.
The Texans were good, but not great in disposing of a fast starting Bills team. Texans are in for a humbling vs the Chiefs this weekend.

Titans vs Patriots

Are the Patriots finally dead, or was it another off year? The Titans ran all over the Pats, and their vaunted D could barely stop the fast moving Henry. The Titans have to face the Ravens now, so enjoy your playoffs while they lasted.

Seahawks vs Eagles

The Eagles were finally showed the door to their place in the league this season. Wentz was hurt early, but it wouldn’t have mattered against the Seahawks team that is gaining confidence as it rises. Wade likes them a lot next Sunday.

Make sure you subscribe to our podcast, as well as share it on social media if you like it.
See you Sunday.

Wade’s DraftKings Line-Up

January 4, 2020 by nflinlondon

Do you even DFS bro?
I do, and I have created a DraftKings line-up for Wildcard Weekend so that you don’t have to!
Make sure you join our DraftKings League so that you can play against us every week and win cash and fame.
https://dkn.gs/r/kwxDR0JIokKPkA6cPjCtNA

So who are you choosing for your tea this weekend?
Who will give you the most bang for your buck for the points?

Let’s take a look at some of the dudes I have selection for my Wildcard DraftKings team.

QB

Deshaun Watson ($6400)

Of the 8 QBs playing this weekend, DW is the fastest, most scrambling QB of the bunch. With a bevy of WRs at his disposal, Watson will be looking to torch the Bills secondary. Buffalo has a fast front, so also look for him to dump the ball off, short pass it and of course run the ball. A good deal at $6400.

RB

Alvin Kamara ($7400)

Sure, the Vikings have a fast front D, but they also have to worry about Michael Thomas and Drew Brees. The Vikings will look to stop Kamara, but they may not be able to catch on to his pass options. Kamara will cause havoc in the backfield as he gashes them for yards. A bit pricey, but worth it.

WR

N’Keal Harry ($4100)

The Patriots have used Harry sparingly with good results throughout the season. When it comes to the blustery playoffs, TB12 will be looking at players who can both run and catch for short yardage. Enter N’Keal, who can do both. He won’t be the number one all day, but he will be used in strong situations where they need someone to beast it across the line, or for those redzone toss ups where the big man gets it. A steal at $4100.

TE

Jacob Hollister ($4300)

He was THIS close last week against the 49ers, and there’s a good chance we will see a lot of him this week. He can muscle his way up the middle, and has a big frame that’s hard to take down once he gets going. Hollister is coming up as one of Russell Wilson’s favourite targets, so he should get plenty of action this week given the injuries to the team. A good value TE at $4300,

DEF

Saints ($3000)

I like to look at the biggest point spreads when determining what D to take in DraftKings. For one thing, they will be losing and need to stage a comeback. Desperation yields necessity, and I necessarily think that the Vikings will go into a hole on Sunday. The Vikings like to do deep, so that means the ball will be up in the air a lot against a tough Saints D. For $3000 they have value.

Join our DraftKings League and start playing right away. You can play for FREE or win CASH in weekly contests. Wade & Ryan give their tips as to who to go with every week.

Cry Me a Phillip Rivers

January 2, 2020 by nflinlondon

‘How you doin’ PR?’
That’s right, Phillip Rivers is now a single, swinging man and everybody wants a piece!
Just to clarify, he is happily married-but without a team.
So where could he end up next year?
Loads of teams might be looking to snag this handsome QB, and get them to lead their team, but is he worth it?

The Pros
-He’s an 8 time Pro Bowl nominee
-He had a PR of 105.5 average in 2018
-He was a first round draft pick in 2004
-His career PR of 96.0 is 8th best

The Cons
-He’s 38 years old
-He’s played for 17 seasons
-He has never won a SuperBowl
-He deteriorated hugely in 2019
-He might have had all of his motivation sapped.

So who would want, and who would need a player like Rivers? Here are a few teams that might want to give him a look see.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts ran outta Luck in 2019, or he ran out of them-causing a huge sinkhole in their future. Jacoby Brissett played well in his absence, but is he the guy you want to structure a team around?
With a crowded floor of losers looking for a QB in the NFL Draft 2020, it might be a leap to expect that they can get anyone good. The Colts have enough weapons leftover from this year, including an underused TY Hilton who would thrive under Rivers. The O Line played fantastically, so he would have time-something that the Chargers couldn’t give him.
More importantly, he would have home fans.
Haven’t had those in a while.

Carolina Panthers

Are we looking at a wham-bam-thank you Cam dynasty in Carolina? With a woeful season in 2019, the Panthers cleaned house in many ways and are looking for someone who can carry the team forward. Sure, Christian McCaffrey carried the team on his back, but image if he ever got hurt? They would be screwed royally.
Rivers was born in Alabama, so it might make sense to return closer to home in an NFC team.
He could be a good fit with the team, and is a born leader that could motivate the team in tough situations.

Chicago Bears

Yes, the Bears have Mitch Trubisky. But Chicago is seeing some of the worst gun violence in recent decades. If random people are getting shot so frequently, imagine what a target someone like Trubisky makes? Rivers wouldn’t be anybody’s back-up, and this is just conjecture-but what an addition he would make for this team! Bears fans are fuming after their D was essentially let down by a lacklustre offence this season, so it would serve them well to get a winner in the pocket just in case.

Denver Broncos

You filthy slut! Going to a division rival? Dirty girl. While PR would be a great alternative to the trash bags that Elway continues to chuck on the field, there is NO WAY that they would trade him to a division rival. It would be an interesting fit though. The Broncos have an emerging running game, and if they drafted a bulked up O Line, he could have time to torch the opposition with ease. No way that Chargers would do this, but it would be an interesting trade to see through. Maybe try it on Madden and see how it goes?

Washington Redskins

Dwayne Haskins is fun to watch. That doesn’t mean he is necessarily good, just fun to watch.
The Redskins played plucky football this season, and they weren’t totally out of every game, even though they were on the ass end of a losing season. They will draft well next year, and just need that missing element to get them up the division. Heck, 4 more wins this season and they could have won the sucker, so it won’t take much to usurp the top dawgs in this filthy pound.

San Angeles Los Chargers

Who are they and where do they play again? Since the team left the sunny fields of San Diego, the ship has sunk faster than the Titanic. Loyal fans were pissed the team was moved, and they took it out by not going to the games. LA fans already had the Raiders and Rams, so why would you want a golden haired stepchild to add to the mix? The Chargers could offer PR another 2 year contract to keep him in til he’s 40. But is he really motivated? Sure, he has 17 kids in school in the area, so he may not want to move. But maybe a mid-life crisis is necessary?
