Antwaun Weeds

December 11, 2019 by nflinlondon

Ruh roh Raggy!
You get busted with the green stuff again?

Dallas Cowboys DT Antwuan Woods was busted this week with 2 mason jars full of herb and some glass paraphernalia.
You can hear in the video when he gets busted, that he laments for having ‘too much marijuana.’
Like he knew he had too much when he went out, then saw the cop cars and thought ‘yep, this is waaayy too much.’

Woods was already out on injury for the Bears game, and this isn’t going to help him out at all.
No word yet confirming that Woods would be fired by Dallas, but given the way that NFL owners deal with pot crimes, he could be out of a job.

Pretty crazy world we live in where some athletes are encouraged to use CBD to deal with pain and injuries, but the NFL is staunchly anti-weed.
Making it even crazier than in some states, not only would Woods not be pulled over, but even if caught-he would have got off with a warning.

A warning to all you jazz-cabbage enthusiasts out there, don’t get caught with the green-or you are going down big time.
Popping an ex-girlfriend in the jaw is still ok though. So long as you apologise.

Naughty Phillip

December 11, 2019 by nflinlondon

Did you know that Phillip Rivers is a naughty, naughty potty mouth?
It’s true.

When most people think of Phillip Rivers they think about a guy who has never won it all.
A guy who stuck it out in a town that was tired of the NFL, and hence he had to pack it up to another city where they were even less enthusiastic about football.
Also most people make fun of the fact he has 58 kids, all named with the acronym P.R.

What most people don’t know is that Phillip Rivers is a trash-talking, rib tickling, NFL fanny-fart.
When you watch the clip, what really strikes is that Rivers don’t give AF.
It’s like he represses all of his anger throughout the week, just to be able to save up for Sunday.
(you better not curse on the Lord’s day mister!)

What will happen to Rivers next year?
Will he tough it out in the wilds of LA, or will he seek greener pastures for his team and family.
It also brings up the question of how many more years he might have in the NFL.
Would anyone be willing to take a chance on him in 2020 knowing the old dog only has a few tricks left?
Given the crop of injuries and QB failures in the league…anything is possible!

Week 15-Sky Games

December 10, 2019 by nflinlondon

It’s Week 15 folks, so forget your families and holiday shopping to focus on the most important thing in your life right now…the NFL.

Sky Sports has released its Week 15 schedule so that you can watch the big games. and there are some great ones on tap this weekend.

The 6pm (UK time) game features a divisional match-up between the Texans and the Titans.
The Titans have been rolling under Tannehill lately, and their punishing running game has really made it difficult for several teams around the league.

The Texans are still smarting from that Week 14 beat down by the Broncos, and will be looking to grab some kind of momentum against this staunch Titans team. Will they be able to continue their playoff hopes, or will the Titans grab the early lead in the march to 2020?

The 9pm game features the LA Rams vs Dallas Cowboys, not the greatest game in the world-but two teams in desperate need of a win. Can the Rams finally right their ship, or is it too little too late?

The late game will feature the Bills and Steelers in a must win situation for both, with Buffalo really hoping that they might be able to steal a lead from the Patriots.

Pop by the Princess Alex in Crouch End to watch all of the games.

See you Sunday!

Week 15-Princess Alex

December 9, 2019 by nflinlondon

Holy crap it’s Week 15 already! There are only 3 weeks left in the rest of the season, so make your plans for a great Sunday.

Head to leafy Crouch End, a scant 20 minute direct trip from Oxford Circus. Hit Finsbury Park then the W7 bus to the pub.

It’s one of the few places in London open until 1am, so you can party late & still get home in time.

Get there before 8pm so that you can grab a Sunday roast. Wings, burgers & cold beers.

They show the Sky game & also Redzone for you NFL fantasy fans.

See you Sunday!

Week 14 Results

December 9, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 14 is almost done and dusted (does the Eagles vs Giants game really count?)
How many did you get correct?

Week 14 can always be a bit tricky to predict, with teams on the edge playing for their lives, which is what we saw this week.

Here are some of the interesting results from Week 14.

Redskins 15-Packers-20

Yes, the Packers did move forward in their playoff quest, but this was by no means a simple game for them. Despite being 13 point faves in this game, the Packers struggled to stave off the feisty Redskins. Haskins moved the ball around well, exposing problems in the Packers secondary.
Aaron Rodgers had some good passes, but it wasn’t a very convincing win for a team in a tough division. You barely beat the Redskins. How are you going to fare against some of the other top teams?

Dolphins-21 Jets-22

Poor Jets, they are fighting for wins, and when they get them-they are ugly. Fitz was anything but Magic, as the Fins relied not their kicker to get the job done-hitting 7 field goals to keep them in the game. This was an ugly 5.5 point spread for the Jets, so it was good to see that they weren’t able to cover this. Yeah, they won-but it was against the Dolphins and you barely won.

Broncos-39 Texans-24

Houston, we have a problem. The Texans aren’t playing very consistent football, and Drew Lock and co. really stunned the Texans in their pursuit of an AFC division. The Broncos struck quickly, moving the ball with ease, and gashing the Texans D with long balls and big runs. Where is JJ Watt when you need him? The scoreline isn’t as close as it could’ve been, as the Broncos could have whooped more points on them.

49ers-48 Saints-46

Holy macaroni what a game. This was as back and forth as a teeter-totter, as both teams were firing on each others D’s. It doesn’t bode well for having a tight D, when both your teams combine for a total of 94 points in offence. Jimmy G looked good, and Kittle is a beats when his big legs get moving. The Saints fall a little further back, making it a tough contest for anyone who faces them going forward.

Chiefs-23 Patriots-16

The Patriots lose? What is happening? Did they not pay off the refs? Well…about that. The refs actually had some blown calls on the Patriots that went through. What? They got screwed too? TB12 was in angry mode, as his team struggled against a Chiefs team that was all over him. 40 total points is surprising, but not as surprising as the Pats losing at home in December. They are now out of first place, and will have to fight for a wildcard spot if they continue this record. Could the Bills beat them in a few weeks?

Chargers-45 Jaguars-10

Where has this Phillip Rivers been? How can they finally start chucking up this amount of points this late in the season? The Jags played like garbage, and Minshew is going to need some moustache oil if he wants to get his team lubed up again. Too little too late for the Chargers, as they limp out of this season into a dark future of a team without a fanbase. The Jags have watched their vaunted D disappear, just as their offence has done. They need a lot of work!

Heading into Week 15 and things are starting to get desperate.
Who actually has a good shot at winning it all?
Are the Patriots really done?
