Week 8 Tips

October 31, 2021 by nflinlondon

The clocks fell back in the UK Sunday, so hopefully you are all well rested and pumped for another great week in NFL betting.

Wade and Ryan are back with all of their top Week 8 Tips, to help you make the most informed (or half ass) decisions when it comes down to laying some cash on the Week 8 games.

Ryan has plenty of upsets tee’d up for the Sunday slate of games, while Wade has some eerie predictions for the Halloween set of matches.

Who do you have in your Week 8 picks?

Ryan’s Tips

Freshly back from the tundra of Canada, Ryan and his Bills are well rested heading into Sunday, and ready to rock the heck out of the Dolphins.

He likes the Detroit Lions and Dan Campbell to get their first WIN of the season, with an inspiring upheaval over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Ryan thinks that this is the first W of the season for the lowly Lions, and that Jalen Hurts and the boys will continue to struggle in the season.

Pittsburgh might be slowly sinking into the AFC North, but Ryan likes the Steelers this week in a get right game against the bashed up Browns.
Big Ben isn’t as big as he once was, nor is he as talented, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have the tools to piss all over the Dawg Pound.

Bump and grind might be how Urban Meyer approaches the NFL, as well as college girls at the bar.
Jacksonville has struggled mightily all season, but so have the Seattle Seahawks who host them in Week 8.
Ryan likes Trevor Lawrence and the Jags to get their second win of the season.

Dak is out, which means that the talents of Cooper Rush could be called upon to face the Vikings in Minnesota Sunday night.
Ryan believes that the talented corps of the Vikes can overcome the ferocious running game of Dem Boyz, and squeak out a big W on Sunday night.
The line dropped from the Cowboys being 2.5 pt faves to being 3 point underdogs.

If you take Ryans upsets of DET, PIT, JAC, and MIN for Week 8 and drop £10 on it, you would win £154.70.

Wade’s Picks

Wade had another great week in NFL tips, slugging out 9 correct games in Week 7.

Here are some of his nuggets of wisdom for the Sunday slate of games in the league.

Carolina Panthers have been imploding as of late. With Christian still out, and talk turning to dumping him for Deshaun Watson, the team MUST be in freefall, right?
Nah. The Panthers still have a fast pass rush, and welcome happy Gilmore from the Pats.
Wade thinks that the Panthers will upset the Falcons by disrupting Matt Ryan all day long.

The Indianapolis Colts have been playing out there football, winning to teams they should lose to and vice versa.
Will the other shoe drop soon sending Wentz back to the injury tent?
Not this game.
Wade likes this divisional rival game to get big points, and a big day for the Colts in a win.

‘Justin Fields isn’t ready to be a starter’ is something Wade has been saying since week 1. With Dalton down and out, Fields will once again take to the field after a beatdown by the Bucs.
The 49ers are no Tampa, they’re not even Jacksonville.
Wade likes his Chicago Bears to move their D up on San Fran and to disrupt a Sunday win.

Tampa Bay and the Bucs are clearly one of the best teams in the NFL, while the New Orleans Saints are…an NFL team.
That being said, the Bucs will heading into a much needed week 9 bye week, so they might just grab a lead and let it coast.
Jameis Winston will have a chip, pretzel, and falafel on his shoulder in this game, so there will be motivation.
Wade likes the Saints to cover the spread, just not win the game.

Taking Wade’s week 8 tips of CAR, IND, CHI and NO on a £10 bet will yield you lovely £145.10.

We also have our DraftKings contests cracking each week, with a selection of FREE and PAID contests.
Our NFL in London league is rocking with great contests every Sunday.

Week 8 Preview

October 30, 2021 by nflinlondon

We’re almost halfway through the 2021 season! Where did it all go?

Ryan is back from Canada, as the guys look ahead to their Week 8 Preview podcast.

NFLinLondon · Week 8 Preview-Ep 166

The London games might be over, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t still put on great events every Sunday!
Join us at either the Sports Bar and Grill Old Street, or Clapham so that you can watch all the games on their own TV.
Make sure you book a table now!

Among some of the other things that Wade and Ryan talk about in this episode of the podcast.

Fall Back

The clocks wind back at 2am on Oct 31st, allowing British fans more of an NFL witching hour.

NFL games in the UK will start at 5pm and 8:20pm for Week 8, so make sure that you kick out any relatives, and turn off any soccer that might get in your way.

The Sunday Night Game airs at a respectable 12:30 am Monday morning, which means you can still catch the game and get a good nights rest.

Work from home! You have our permission.

Watt-Age

The broken toy that is JJ Watt finally collapsed into a heap after another season of crippling injuries.

This isn’t the first time that Watt had to limp away from an NFL season due to injury, but with the amount of problems that JJ has been piling on his body, the finish line for his career must surely be in site.

Deshaun Watson

Watson looks like he might be cleared to be traded, but what doe that really mean in NFL terms?

While Deshaun has yet to be formerly charged (with anything), civil and criminal lawsuits are widely different in terms of the way that they are handled.

The NFL could clear him to play, then suddenly decide he needs to sit out 8 games for effrontery to the league.

Whatever the situation ends up being, the biggest loser here is Tua.

Here are some of the games that Wade and Ryan chat about in this episode of the podcast.

Eagles (2-5) -3 vs Lions (0-7)  +48.5

Dan Campbell might be the best 0-7 coach in the NFL right now, but that’s not much of a distinction given how bad Jared Goff and the Lions are playing right now.
The only thing that Detroit has going for it is the running game, but how can that last when it faces the pressure every week.

Jalen Hurts is an unappreciated QB as well, putting up big fantasy numbers every week despite the Eagles not being able to stay competitive. They have been close in good games, and beaten in bad ones. Philly does seem to be figuring it out however, with the team staying competitive in most matches.

Ryan thinks that Dan Campbell and the Lions will get their first win of the season here but stuffing out the Phily squad. He likes Goff and the boys to thwart the birds in their pursuit of a win in Michigan.

Wade likes Jalen and the guys to get it down in Motown. The Lions lost an emotional game against Matt Stafford last week, despite throwing every trick play they could at them.

Ryan-Lions 24 Eagles 17
Wade- Eagles 30 Lions 23

Steelers (3-3) vs Browns (4-3)  -3.5  +42.5

Bloated Big Ben is slowly easing his way out of what looks to be his final season.
There’s no more zip on that ball, and his O line is barely able to protect him and the running game on each drive.

Cleveland has been stuck in quicksand this season, slowly realising that Baker might not be the best chef in the kitchen to move this team forward. The Browns D and O line carries more of load than the rest of the team.

Ryan is betting on Big Ben and the running game to stick it to the flopping Browns, riding their bye week to a big W against a division rival.

Wade thinks that the Browns still have too much talent on D to rattle Ben and that shaky O line.
Chubb is back, and that’s all they’ll need to stick it to the Steelers.

Ryan- Steelers 24 Browns 20
Wade- Browns 26 Steelers 18

That’s it for some of our picks for Week 8, make sure you listen to the whole podcast to get all of our tips and predictions.

Sports Bar Old Street and Clapham are the place to be this Sunday for all the NFL games.
Make sure you book a table now to avoid disappointment!

See you Sunday!

Oct News

October 26, 2021 by nflinlondon

The London NFL games for the 2021 season are done and dusted, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have loads more NFL action on every week at locations across London and the UK.

While the London games for this season may be no more, there are still plenty of American football events across the UK, and much more in our Oct News.

Brady Balls

Congrats to TB12 for tossing his 600th career TD pass in a slow out against the Bears.

Brady shows no signs of ageing, as he continues to dominate every week, while looking ageless doing so.

There were estimates that the 600th TD ball could be worth up to $750,000 USD, but it’s doubtful that the ball would have been able to reach that stage of auction.

What would you have done if Tommy Boy had given you the ball?

Here’s what Pat McAfee has to say about it.

Lion-ated

The Detroit Lions hold the distinct record of being the worst team in the NFL thus far this season.

While the Arizona Cardinals are flying high, undefeated heading into Week 8, the Lions are so anemic, you would expect to see them in a Syrian zoo.

Dan Patrick is highly caffeinated, high strung, and high on emotion, as that damn Jared Goff keeps letting him down.

The Lions have a chance to go winless this season, which is something even the Jets have avoided.

Flacc Off

What do you know Joe Flacco? Did you know that your ass was going to get traded from the Eagles to the Jets?

Off Broadway Joe Flacco will now have the unenviable task of leading the Jets out of the tunnel each week to defeat.

Flacco at least has a Super Bowl ring, which many of his Jets teammates will like to touch, as there is no chance that they will ever handle one.

Nagy Problem

Bears coach Matt Nagy has COVID, but that’s probably the least of his concerns.

With Andy Dalton getting sidelined early due to injury, all eyes have been on Justin Fields, and his rookie sensation ability to get it done.

Sadly, rookies can’t get it done, and having no O-line is starting to catch up to the Bears.

Fields was horrible against a Bucs D that beat the crap out of the Bears on Sunday, making Man U’s 5-0 beating from Liverpool look like an appetiser.

Nagy and Pace will be fired if the Bears can’t string together 9 wins this season. The might even be fired before that.

Urban Decay

Urban Meyer still has a job after slutting out a win against the Dolphins in London during week 6.

There are rumours that more Meyer footage exists of the Jags coach grinding up against collegiate girls who most certainly have ‘gone wild.’

If Urban Meyer were a coach in anywhere but Florida, his ass would be fired by now, but here he is.

Odds are Meyer will be gone by the end of the season.

Packers vs Cardinals

Thursday Night Football is giving us the best game for week 8, as the undefeated Arizona Cardinals host the Green Bay Packers.

Davante Adams looks like he will be ruled out for this one due to COVID, meaning that Rodgers will have no one to throw to in this contest.

Early betting lines have Arizona favoured by 6.5, which could easily jump to 10 if Adams is ruled out.

Green Bay got lucky against the WFT in Week 7, as their D stopped 3 solid red zone chances by Washington, which was rare for the Packers D.

This will be the game where we finally see the division line between the good and great teams in the NFC.

American Underdog

If you haven’t had enough of an NFL fix, then maybe you can tap into more by watching ‘American Underdog’, the Kurt Warner story.

It’s a heavy compliment for Warner to get played by the Shazam guy, in this biopic of the pluckiest QB to ever play for the Rams.

Zachary Levi plays Warner in this true life story of how Kurt Warner went from bagging groceries in his 30s’, to bagging touchdowns in the Super Bowl.

The movie already looks miles ahead of the horrendous trailer for Marvels ‘Eternals’, and it’s doubtful if any of them could lead their team to victory over the Titans in a Super Bowl.

Here’s the trailer for American Underdog.

Make sure you join us every Sunday at either the Sports Bar and Grill Old Street, or south of the Thames in Clapham.

Get in touch if you want to book a table now!

Week 5 Tips

October 10, 2021 by nflinlondon

The NFL is finally in London, with the Falcons and Jets throwing down at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Who will win the big game? What are the inside tips for week 5 bets? What should you do after the London game?

We got it all in our Week 5 Tips! Take some of Wade & Ryan’s betting advice, then meet us on Sunday at the Sports Bar Old Street!

NY Jets (1-3) vs Falcons (1-3) -3  +46

US fans might bemoan the level of the teams playing at Tottenham on Sunday, but UK fans are just happy to have a live game to watch again.

Technically the Falcons are the ‘home team’ in this one, as they look to right the ship and get out of the losing doldrums.
It’s been a rough season thus far for Atlanta, as injuries and O line have made Matty Ice quite luke warm in the 2021 season.

For the Jets, this was supposed to be a rebirth year with Wilson and Saleh.
Sadly, the Jets look like the same old Jets, as they haven’t really found what makes the team unique, instead waiting to see if Zach is going to develop in time.

Ryan is big on the Jets in this one, as he vowed to never back the Falcons ever again after they let him down again in week 4.
He thinks that they will grind out a victory and thwart the home town birds.

Wade likes the veterans on the Falcons to deliver a victory on Sunday. Matt Ryan should have some time to deliver the ball against a stiffening Jets D.
The game will likely start slow, and end on a zip, with the Falcons causing to an easy victory.

Ryan-Jets 24 Falcons 23
Wade-Falcons 24 Jets 20

-4 Titans (2-2) vs Jaguars (0-4)  +48.5

Urban Meyer is a dead man walking. With 4 bad losses in a row, and a grinding session with a college girl on the internet, the fat lady must be warming up her pipes in Jacksonville.

This must be a do or die game for Urban, as an 0-5 start with Trevor Lawrence at the helm is truly unacceptable given the resources allocated to this rebirth.

The Titans too are in difficult situation given their slow start. Key wide receivers are down, the O line is a mess, and Tannehill looks like he is tumbling from his 2020 numbers.

Ryan likes the Titans to turn this one around, pegging the Jags in a blowout.

Wade too thinks that the Titans and the legs of Derek Henry will gash the Jaguars all day long.
He also predicts that Urban Meyer will be fired Monday, and won’t make the trip to London.

Ryan-Titans 33 Jags 21
Wade-Titans 31 Jags 20

-3 Packers (3-1) vs Bengals (3-1)  +49.5

Aaron Rodgers is coming down from a flirty filled victory over the Steelers last week, as he showboated for his potential new coach Mike Tomlin in an easy victory.

The Packers are 3-1, but with injuries to Alexander last week, plus a weak secondary, make them a bit more accessible to teams that can chuck the ball.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals are off to a wicked start. Cincy has added more protection to Burrow, allowing him to find his speedy receivers down field, as well as open up more holes for their running game.

Ryan thinks that A-A-Ron will come into the cat house and kick the litter all over the floor en route to tight victory over the Bengals. He thinks Rodgers and Adams will have a big game.

Wade likes the hometown Bengals for an upset here. With Tee Higgins returning, the Bengals have enough tools to keep tossing it to the backfield to give the cheese heads trouble.

Ryan-Packers 30 Bengals 23
Wade-Bengals 30 Packers 28

Week 4 Review

October 8, 2021 by nflinlondon

What an exciting week in the NFL, made even better for UK fans as we host a London game for week 5.

Wade and Ryan are here to look back on the week that was in the NFL for week 4, in a fun and peppy podcast called the Week 4 Review.

Ryan went a respectable 7-9 in his week 4 picks, while Wade busted out an impressive 12-4 record to scoop a few pools over the weekend.

Among some of the trends and issues that the guys talk about in this one.

NFLinLondon · Week 4 Review-Ep 160

London Game

It’s the Falcons versus the Jets (wee!) at Tottenham in the first of the NFL games in London.

While it’s a truly beautiful stadium, the area around White Hart Lane leaves much to be desired. There’s really not much of a reason to leave anyway, with all of the bars and restaurants you can find within the stadium walls.

The NFL Store in the stadium will be happy to take your money in exchange for the jerseys of your NFL dreams.
Don’t worry about bringing a bag for all that swag, they will have legit ones available you can carry into the stadium.

Visitors to London are in for a treat, just don’t wander around too much to lose that lustre.

Also, Ted Lasso isn’t a real person, so stop asking us.

Petrol Crisis

Britain is still missing fuel, causing line ups, punch ups and neighbourhood headaches.

If you’re planning on driving to the game, be aware that fuel might be non existent, and parking could provide an added nightmare to your journey.

The Overground rolls into White Hart Lane every 15 minutes, which will give you plenty of time to plan your stadium day.

Winners

Among some of the winning teams that Wade and Ryan gush about in this episode includes:

Chiefs

Finally a win, but at what cost? Kansas City is struggling this year as they slump further down the division walls. Can they maintain this momentum to thwart the Bills in week 5?

Cowboys

If you smell something creeping up in your garden check that it might be ‘dem boyz. Dallas has put together a winning team, let’s see how long that they can stay healthy.

Cardinals

The best team in the NFL? They have certainly shown why that they might be considered. Of course it’s only week 4, so let’s hold our horses.

Losers

Lions

Detroit could be the worst team in all of football, with no direction fo where they are going. The Lions have had their mane and tail chopped, it’s hard to see where they find the motivation.

Texans

Stop, just stop. That’s all their defence has left to say.

Titans

Insults meet injuries as this team can no longer rely on Henry for the winning scores. Tannehill is struggling behind a weak line and their D can barely contain themselves.

Week 5 Parties

Don’t forget we’re throwing big parties this weekend at the Sports Bar and Grill Clapham, Old Street and the Princess Alexandra.

Clapham will be showing the Fury vs Wilder fight Sat night, while Old Street will be open until 4am with NFL action wall to wall.

Welcome to London!
