Week 14 Picks

December 9, 2023 by nflinlondon

The boys are saddled with nasty colds, so it must be that time of year again for our Week 14 Picks podcast.

Only two teams on bye this week, as the playoff implications start to look far more interesting. Teams we thought in the AFC that would contend, are faltering, and the NFC is looking like it’s going to be a slugfest against the Niners for any hope of the Lombardi trophy.

If you want to take out your sniffles, and suck the phlegm for your system, have a listen this podcast with a little toddy for your ears.

NFLinLondon · Week 14 Picks-Ep 284

Week 14 Picks

A nice surprise for the AFC North, as the Steelers took a choke out from the Patriots on TNF to add another layer to that divisional contest.
What other kind of nifty surprises might we find in this weeks games?
Let’s have a little look shall we, as the boys both offer their predictions for a select slate of games.

Jaguars (8-4) vs -3 Browns (7-5)  +30.5

Jacksonville took a bite out of themselves in Week 13 with a performance that really knocked their chances of that number one seed potential. Although they are saying that Lawrence might have only suffered a high ankle sprain, what about the rest of the guys that got hurt. That has to hurt.
Joe Flacco! That’s right, old Joe has saddled up once again to fire some ints for Cleveland as they look to mend the suck that is currently affecting them.
With horrible weather, and a home crowd in their favour, can the much vaunted Browns D make them Jags pay here?
Ryan is going full Flacco, which is still a thing, as he thinks the Browns will out hustle the cats at home.
Wade also agrees that the Browns are the ones to take here, as the Jags will suffer to get anything going against that front line, and cold front of nasty weather.
Ryan-Browns 20 Jaguars 13
Wade-Browns 21 Jaguars 9

-3.5 Lions (9-3) vs Bears (4-8)  +43

It’s another rematch of the AFC North, as this time the Bears host in a contest that happened only a few weeks ago, with different circumstances.
The Lions were able to come back against a tough Chicago squad in the remaining two minutes of the game to get the fortunate win.
Will the Lions be so fortunate this time?
It’s not going to be a winning season in Chicago, but that was expected, as was the Fields conundrum. What he does in the next few weeks will determine where he plays next season.
If JF can light it up win a W against Detroit, he might just be the topic of a starter again in 2024.
Wade of course if taking his Bears for the upset win, with a wet, sloppy home slashing against Detroit.
Ryan agrees, and thinks that the Bears will be able to get vengeance in this week for the upset.
Ryan-Bears 24 Lions 21
Wade-Bears 18 Lions 16

Other games

Here are some of the other games that the guys have personally selected as ones that you might want to look at for some of you fun sunday parlays.
You can hear about them all in out Week 14 Picks podcast, but since you’re here, have a gander.

Ryan

-Panthers COVER against the Saints (-5)
-Ravens (-7)  PUSH with the Rams
-Jets UPSET vs the Texans (-3.5)
-Raiders UPSET the Vikings (-3)
-Bills UPSET the Chiefs (-1)

Wade

-Seahawks COVER against the 49ers (-10.5)
-Raiders COVER closely with the Vikings (-3)
-Eagles COVER in a close one with Dallas (-3.5)
-Dolphins (-13) BLOW-OUT the Titans
That’s it for the guys Week 14 Picks, make sure that you listen to the whole podcast so that you can soak it all up like the colds that are going around this season.
Stay safe, and enjoy Week 14!

Week 12 Picks

November 25, 2023 by nflinlondon

Hope you’ve all worked off that turkey fat, as we hit you with some more stuffing in our Week 12 Picks podcast.

We were offered up a cornucopia from the horn of plenty from the NFL on Thursday, as they served up 3 tasty matches not to mention the Black Friday game in Jersey.

Wade and Ryan look at the mid-week holiday games as well as look ahead to the Week 12 Picks that they have made across a mediocre slate of matches.

If you would like to listen to the podcast, and warm your cockles as the winter winds set in, or just share it with friends as you get wasted waiting for Sunday, here is the link for your thirsty ears.

NFLinLondon · Week 12 Picks-Ep 281

Thanksgiving Games

First up was the Lions hosting the Packers, as Dan Campbell might have OD’d on energy drinks, as Detroit could not see straight in this game in a division loss. Kudos to Jordan Love, who finally is starting to look like a starting quarterback, and the Packers were able to flummox a hapless Jerod Goff to no end. Coach Dan made some thick-headed calls to ruin the chances for the Lions, and it really speaks to their comeback ability to not be able to rally at home on the big day.
Let’s blame Jack Harlow and his little igloo stage.
Dak and the Dallas Cowboys pumped the crap out of the Washington team in the second game, although the skins had a chance to make it a game. Despite Sam Howell’s efforts, Wash wasn’t able to convert at all, and the Cowboys D did the rest in another home win.
Are the Cowboys for real as a Super Bowl contender, we’ll see in the upcoming weeks.
The 49ers continued to romp on, as a bruised Christian McCaffrey for a nighter roll in a San Fran win against a limp Seattle Seahawks squad. Brock Purdy was good enough, as Seattle and Geno struggled to move the ball at all against a fierce pass rush. Both teams look to be on different trajectories.
Friday night lights brought us a Miami beatdown against a Jets team that it seems A-Aron can’t even save. Met Life took another career death as Raheem Mostert once again got raked by the bad grass they’re smoking in Jersey. Tyreek Hill was also smoking as he a made a show in New York in front of his blushing bride.

Sunday Picks

We have a smaller slate of games on Sunday, given that we had a turkey of four games already.
The best part about these Week 12 games is that most of them are horrible. Like double flush horrible, don’t come over here, a sewage pipe burst horrible.
So let’s wipe the bowl with some of the picks that the guys have lined up for Sunday Funday in our Week 12 Picks.

Ryan

Ryan is taking the Jaguars to win in a slight victory against the Texans, a Buccaneers upset against the Colts, the Giants to barely cover 3.5 against the Patriots, the Panthers to get their second win with a victory over the Titans, Steelers with a Bengals choke-out, and the Falcons get the pick ’em versus the Saints to reel out the early games.
In late and beyond, Ryan is taking the Cardinals to cover 2.5 against the Rams, Broncos in a low score over the Browns, the Bills to upset the Eagles, Chiefs in an easy cover over the Raiders, Ravens to roll-on off the bad Chargers, and the Bears with a big upset over the Vikings.

Wade

Wade likes the Jags in a revenge games over the Texans, the Colts to throw over the Bucs, Giants with an upset over the Patriots, Titans get a home cushion push over the Panthers, Steelers beat Bengals in a sleeper, Falcons over the Saints at home.
As for his late games, Wade is picking the Cardinals to barely cover a sluggish Rams game, Broncos win their sixth after beating the Browns, Bills barely cover and lose to the Eagles, Raiders cover 10 points on the Chiefs, Ravens peck at the rotting Chargers, and the Bears cover 3.5 at the Vikings.
Those are our Week 12 Picks, have a listen and a laugh and share on a cold winters day.

Week 4 Picks

September 30, 2023 by nflinlondon

Welcome to London NFL fans, as we discuss the Falcons Jaguars game in our Week 4 Picks podcast.

Wade and Ryan are excited to see the first NFL game of the European leg, and as the Ryder Cup has show us so far that Europe has its own winning ways.

A train and tube strike is threatening to chunk away a good selection of fans for this game sadly, so hopefully many of these late tickets will get scooped up.
All in all, it looks to be another consistent NFL London game, with low scoring and wide jersey dispersion.
The amazing UK fans more than make up for it all, and it will truly be a fun experience.

If you want to listen to the guys go off on their podcast, all you have to do is click this link here.

NFLinLondon · Week 4 Picks-266
Among some of the games the guys look at in this episode includes:

Falcons (2-1) vs -3 Jaguars (1-2)  +43

It’s the first of the 2023 London NFL games as the Atlanta Falcons visit the home town Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley stadium.
Despite the fact that London has no signs that the NFL is in town, apparently this game is still going ahead.
Atlanta has looked limp in their run only offence, with Desmond Ridder either not living up to his potential, or not having as much as everyone thought.
Jacksonville has a had a struggling start to the season, no thanks to their offensive line which has seen Trevor Lawrence harassed more than he’s ever been.
Ryan thinks that this game will be another London stinker, with low points and even lower intensity.
Wade is also calling for a terribly low scoring game, as teams historically take time to adjust to being in the GMT.
Ryan-Jaguars 24 Falcons 17
Wade-Jaguars 18 Falcons 14

Dolphins (3-0) vs -2.5 Bills (2-1)  +53.5

Miami shocked the shakes out of the league last week by pounding the poor Broncos with 70 points, as they continue to load up on points. But they still haven’t face a really tough D up to this point.
Buffalo are favoured by 2.5 points against Miami? Many fans think this is an insult, given the Bills struggling in their first 2 games.
Ryan is big on his Bills, and likes the boys in Western New York to choke out the Dolphins with their fast front D.
Wade agrees with Ryan, and thinks that Miami will get a touch welcome from the Bills, who will finally give Tua that threat to his MMA training.
Ryan-Bills 31 Dolphins 27
Wade-Bills 30 Dolphins 26

Rams (1-2) vs -1 Colts (2-1)  +46.5

Los Angeles Rams took a tough loss to the Bengals in week 3, losing a few more defensive players in the process. Matt Stafford is playing with renewed confidence, thanks to some speedy new receivers who have stepped up.
The Colts are 2-1 with our Jonathan Taylor, and Matt Ryan. The last name isn’t as surprising, but the play of Anthony Richardson is. Back from injury, Richardson could thrive in fantasy points against an LA  team playing with only 4 days rest.
Ryan likes the Rams to take out the Colts here, with Matt Stafford finding some holes in this Indianapolis home team.
Wade likes Richardson to use his legs and find Pittman for a few scores, as he likes the Colts to dominate the poor, tired Rams.
Ryan-Rams 21 Colts 20
Wade-Colts 23 Rams 18
Among some of the other top picks that the guys look at in these Week 4 Picks include:

Ryan

  • Tampa Bay covers against the Saints
  • Bengals beat the Titans who cover
  • Seahawks beat the Giants

Wade

  • Texans upset the Steelers
  • Bears beat the Broncos
  • Patriots cover close against the Cowboys

That’s it for our Week 4 Picks podcast, make sure that you listen to the whole thing and share it with your friends.

To everyone attending the London game at Wembley stadium this Sunday, have fun! It looks like it will be a sunny day despite the slowdown in traffic.

Conference Picks

January 28, 2023 by nflinlondon

And then there were four teams left, as the 49ers, Eagles, Bengals and Chiefs make up the ingredients for our Conference Picks.

Wade and Ryan use this podcast to look back at the Divisional Championship games, as Ryan fully believes his life ‘can start now’ that the Bills have been eliminated from contention.

The guys look at the two games scheduled for Sunday night, and make their very own Conference Picks so that you don’t have to.

NFLinLondon · Conference Weekend Picks-Ep 234

49ers (13-4) vs -2.5 Eagles (14-3) +46.5

Have you got the Purdy’s yet? Does your live feel a bit Purdier? Well, everyone and their grandma is all over Brock Purdy after slinging together seven wins in as many weeks.
It’s not like Purdy is jumping behind the wheels of the Jets however, as this San Fran squad is set for the Super Bowl based on how crazy strong that front D is.
Christian McCaffery has been a beast on form, hitting a touchdown in each of his last games, and along with a group of speedy receivers it begs the question who can stop this group?
Meet the Philadelphia Eagles, who are still technically on a ‘rebuilding’ year, but have dismantled some of the best teams in the league.
Jalen Hurts has come into form, and led a squad of talented receivers and a trio of running backs who can hit you from every angle.
Don’t forget their defence, who shook Daniel Jones for five sacks last week, and are up their with the 49ers as the top two in the league.
Ryan is all Eagles in this one, as he doesn’t believe that Purdy will grow under the Philly home crowd.
Mistakes will be made, and the wide receivers of the Eagles should be able to outmatch the 49er corners.
Wade is also all over Philly and thinks that these guys are just getting started in a phenomenal season.
Jalen will have a massive day with his legs, as the Niners D will find themselves chasing him.
Purdy will probably get rocked by that D, shaking his new confidence.
Ryan- Eagles 24 49ers-20
Wade-Eagles 26 49ers 18

-1 Bengals (12-4) vs Chiefs (14-3)  +47.5

Oh how the Bengals have been bolstering after their demonstrative beat down of the Bills last Sunday.
From humble to Burrowheads and dismals of Damar Hamlin, Cincy has gone from sweet to sour on the socials.
That hasn’t stopped the line from moving in the direction of Cincinnati, as the vast improvement with every game has made them a favourite to cover 13 of their games this season.
Oh, and let’s not forget the 3-0 record against the Chiefs-which the Bengals players continue to remind them of before the big game.
Trash talk never back fires.
‘High ankle sprain’ is an often Googled term of late, as Patrick Mahomes took a massive twist on Sunday giving the Jaguars a chance to cover.
Patty M did eventually return after some ‘doctoring’ and his progress has been followed as closely as Tom and Gisele’s personal life, but all on both counts seems fine at this point.
Everyone has been writing of Kansas City all year, but here they are again, playing in their fifth consecutive AFC Championship.
These two teams match up well, but it could be the snow and wind that blows in the Chiefs favour at home.
Ryan is Chief-leaver, or Belief-Chiefer, he thinks that the Chiefs will win.
The trash talk that the Bengals have been scatting around the social jungle is enough to make a Native American mad, and throw a tomahawk chop in response.
He likes the Chiefs to win at home, and put themselves back in the Super Bowl once more.
Wade is giving Burrowhead, wait, what? He likes the Bengals.
With Burrow and the boyz firing on all striped cylinders, they have the plan to beat the Chiefs, and that plan is Lou Anarumo. Lou adjusts his second half with the precision of seasoned drag performer, and delivers the goods with a bit of oomph.
Ryan- Chiefs 27- Bengals 24
Wade- Bengals 24 Chiefs 17
Who you got?

Week 11 Picks

November 20, 2022 by nflinlondon

We’re over halfway through the NFL season as the league hosts its final international game in Mexico, the World Cup is almost here, and the Green Bay Packers eat another ‘L’.
It’s time for our Week 11 Picks!

Wade and Ryan are back again, using their medium sized brains to crank out their nuggets of wisdom as we make our way to Thanksgiving.

Ryan had a bit of turkey in week 10, going 5-8 in his picks, while Wade had a bit more stuffing with a 9-4 record ATS.
How will the boys do this week?

The show is all snow in Buffalo, the Patriots tee up the Jets for another potential beating, the Bears are underdogs to Mariota, and the Rams well and truly suck this year.

Who do the guys have for Week 11?

You can listen to the whole podcast here, and get all of the Picks you’re looking for!

NFLinLondon · Week 11-PicksEp 224

Here are some of the betting picks the guys are looking at for Week 11.

Browns (3-6) vs -8 Bills (6-3) +50.5

As much as we laud Buffalo for staying strong during their snowy winters, when you look at the white covered city, you can see why it had to be moved to Detroit.
The Bills and Browns are both in the dome, in a game that could signal the beginning of the Deshaun era, and Josh Allen looking to shake off recent picks.

Buffalo is starting to lose grip on the top spot in the AFC east, with the rise of the Jets Dolphins and Patriots to playoff potential.
Josh Allen’s last minute picks have put the Bills in a tricky spot, after taking that sore L from the Vikings.

The Browns have limped their way into this season, hoping that Watson will rub out the past deeds, and tug them into a brighter future.
The running game and ascent of Peoples-Jones could help the Browns keep this one closer than the line Vegas has provided.

Ryan likes his Bills to win, but doesn’t like that 8 point spread.
He thinks that the Browns will keep in closer than that.

Wade agrees, and thinks that the tight week, and with Buffalo due to play in 4 days for Gobble Gobble, they might not be focused on laying a beating.

Ryan-Bills 27  Browns 20
Wade Bills 28 Browns 21

-6.5 Eagles (8-1) vs Colts (4-5-1) +43.5

The Eagles have gotten that first loss out of the way, now it’s time to focus!
Philly not only made a load of mistakes against Washington in week 10, they also got gashed by the running game, something that future teams will look to as a template.

Indy is shaking off the hangover, and trying to string something together after the Matt Ryan awkwardness of a few weeks ago. Is he back? Does Jim still like him?
Whatever it is, they still have Jonathan Taylor, who like Stella-seems to have finally gotten his groove back.

Ryan likes the Eagles to continue to dominate, learning from their Week 10 loss, and ready to rebound all over the faces of Jeff Saturday and his boys.

Wade thinks the Colts are on the rise, and this could potentially be another chance to draw blood and put themselves on the playoffs path. The could win, but should cover.

Ryan-Eagles 30 Colts 17
Wade-Eagles 28 Colts 22

Bears (3-7) vs -3 Falcons (4-6)  +49

It only took 5 weeks, but the Bears have finally figured out what to do with Fields and a weak Bears O-line.
Justin has been on fire, ripping up Fantasy numbers, and having Bears worry that he could get broken with the amount he’s running, leaving them with no toys at all.

How is Marcus Mariota still a starting QB?
His passes are as awkward as an asexual at a porn awards, and he’s often putting the Falcons under pressure than leading them to victory.
So how are the Falcons 3 point faves? Is it all home field?

Ryan thinks that the Falcons are in the right, and that spotty Bears D will be open enough for Atlanta’s running game to create some opportunities.

Wade is all over his Bears, with the team averaging 28 points in the past 4 weeks, they will continue to score against a hapless Falcons D.

Ryan-Falcons 27 Bears 24
Wade-Bears 30 Falcons 24

That’s it for our Week 11 Picks, who do you have?
