TNF Cardinals vs Seahawks

November 19, 2020 by nflinlondon

Finally a great Thursday night NFL game as the Cardinals face the Seahawks, while most of the UK will be blanket dozed through the drizzle during this one. Those brave enough to stay up for this game will be treated to an epic match-up between two heavy hitting teams.
Will Seattle be able to hoist out a much needed victory against the fast moving Arizona squad?

Cardinals (6-3) vs Seahawks (6-3)
Seahawks -3  +58

Kyler Murray is lighting up the league with his rapid fire arm, and quick moves on the field-this kid is really something to watch. Arizona has taken some tough beatings in their 3 losses, but their 6 wins point to a team that can wreck havoc on the NFC, and challenge anyone in a fight. That last minute meteoric pass to Hopkins to crush the Bills is still something I watch in slow mo for fun, and to tease Ryan.
Something is wrong with Russel Wilson. He may not be physically ill, but mentally something just doesn’t look right. He just doesn’t seem to have his head in the game, and looks listless with such great talent at his disposal. Their defence is horrendous, and other teams have essentially defecated yards while they watch helplessly.
The Cardinals have to feel buzzy after that buzzer beater in Buffalo, riding high knowing that they can beat anyone. The Seahawks are wondering what to do, where it’s all going wrong, and what they need to do to right the ship. It’s rudderless and careening towards the playoff rocks at this point, and Pete Carroll needs to do something.
I like Arizona to keep thumping here. Kyler Murray is known for his revenge tactics, and after the beating that Seattle laid on Arizona earlier this season, KM will be looking to ruin the homecoming party for the Hawks.
Seattle won’t be able to correct their D woes in this contest, it’s going to take time, and sadly they just don’t have that.
I like Arizona to win this one and move on to a 7-3 record.
Seattle will take another L on the chin and hopefully no more injuries.

Sky Week 11

November 18, 2020 by nflinlondon

Ugh, what a tough ride week 10 was in the NFL. Not only were there some massive upsets, but the injury train continued to pick up more players to change the outlook of the season.
The Steelers are undefeated, the Ravens are struggling, and the Bears are a truly awful winning team.
Thankfully week 11 is now here, and the folks at Sky Sports have released their NFL schedule.

TNF

Cardinals vs Seahawks
1:20am Friday

What a game to kick off the week, as two 6-3 teams battle it out on a rainy Seattle Thursday night. The Seahawks have allowed points a plenty in the past few weeks, and something looks wrong with Russell Wilson, can they find their fire again to start cooking?
Kyler Murray is having fun, and it shows. The kid is hustling up the field, chucking bombs, and winning last second games in heroics.
This will be a great match, but most if us in the UK will have to enjoy it in the morning with coffee.

SUNDAY

Titans vs Ravens
6:00pm Sunday

An AFC battle for the ages, as two teams struggling to get a grips on their season face off to see who will be one of the contenders for the title.
Tennessee has been having troubles lately, as teams focus on Henry, they make Tannehill scramble and it hasn’t been going well. The Titans o-line is leaky, and their d is struggling to contain big plays.
The Ravens took a tough punch to the chin from the Patriots in week 10, highlighting the buckets of problems they have scoring. Lamar is not playing with his same intensity and he needs to get out of the funk.

Packers vs Colts
9:25pm Sunday

Aaron vs Philip in a Sunday night fight. This will be a big contest to see who has the mojo into the inal stretch of the regular season.
Green Bay was in tough against the Jaguars last week, as the Jacksonville D heaped all sorts of pressure on Rodgers .
The Colts have found their winning ways again, with an improved D, and Nyheim Hines taking over for Taylor in the running scheme.
This will be a great night in the dome to close out your Sunday.

Chiefs vs Raiders
1:25am Monday

The last of the Sunday night on Sky games brings us this epic AFC game. The last time these two teams played this season, the Raiders thumped the Chiefs and we all know how Mahomes deals with grudges.
Kansas City is healthier than the last game, with loads of holes plugged not to mention a well deserved bye week last week.
The Raiders are winning, but not consistent. They beat themselves more than other teams at times, and will need their A-game if they want to hold off the champs.

MNF

Rams vs Bucs
1:20am Tuesday

The Rams might be 6-3, but they sure don’t play like it. Just like Tampa, they are prone to inconsistent play and focus.
Goff is not shaping into the QB everyone talked about. He looks uneasy and sluggish at times, and the running game has yet to fully develop.
TB12 has loads of weapons at his disposal, so why is he struggling to use them. AB has flashes and Mike Evans hasn’t been seen this season, Tommy needs to get some routes in order so that he can feed these guys on big plays.

Sadly we still don’t have any live events planned yet due to this sucky virus.
It looks like the Super Bowl is also in doubt, but we will let you know.

Week 10 DraftKings

November 14, 2020 by nflinlondon

It’s time to get your fantasy on, as we look at some of the top players to target in week 10 of the NFL.
Dalvin Cook will not be playing in the first section of games, so you’ll need to find someone else to snag you 40 points on Sunday.
Week 9 was a bit of a punch in the nads, so hopefully we can help you make some money for this week.
Make sure you join our DraftKings League so that you can play along as well.
Here are some of the top picks to look at this week.

QBs

Josh Allen $7500

Allen was a beast last week against the Seahawks, throwing for 4 TDs and taking a commanding lead in the AFC East. The Bills face the Cardinals this week, who have shown that they have plenty of gaps to allow them to be scored on. This should be a big back and forth battle, with Allen finding plenty of options in a weak Arizona secondary.

Jake Luton $5400

Pronounced ‘Loo-tawn’, Jake has possibly the worst jersey you could ever wear in England. For those of you who don’t know, Luton is a dumpy airport north of London and a mediocre city on the commuter belt. It’s like the Flint, Michigan to London’s Detroit.
Luton is the new moustache in town, and looked better than Tua in week 9. If he can connect with some of his talented receivers, he could find some holes in Packers D, which they often give up. Good value if you want to save up for other players.

RBs

Leonard Fournette $5500

The Bucs are coming down from a beating so bad, they still have dried blood in their ears. Brady was brutal, so they will need to get the running game together this week against the Panthers if they hope to establish a lead. Fournette should have a good game against a Carolina D who have been leaking points all season.

James Robinson $6600

One of the few bright lights for the Jags, Robinson has established himself as a marquee running back in a league where that title has faded as of late. As the top dog of their offence, Robinson will be used often against a Packers team who have been victim to big running plays. There’s a good chance he hits 100 yards against Green Bay on Sunday.

WRs

Tee Higgins $4600

With a name that sounds like something a stoner might say, Tee Higgins is quickly becoming a fave of Joe Burrow. With so much talent on the Bengals receiving squad, Higgins often finds himself open and is great for yards after the catch. Yes, he’s playing the Steelers on Sunday, but they will only be able to carry so much.

Danny Amendola $3900

Danny come lately has been slowly working his way up in the Lions squad. This Pats veteran has been solid for Matt Stafford, considering Kenny Golladay is out once again. Detroit can score, and often, which will give the Washington football team problems. He’s great value under $4000, and should factor in some Redzone plays.

Jalen Reagor $4200

The NFC East is slutting it up again this week, passing whatever they have to each other and disgusting the rest of the NFL. It really is a horrible division. The Eagles are back with more injuries, although they should have Miles Sanders back this week to take some pressure off of Wentz. Reagor is adept at hauling in deep balls chucked with abandon by Carson, as well as beasting it in the redzone.

TEs

TJ Hockenson $5200

The Hock has been ok this season, although you would expect more out of him given the state of the Lions. He’s still growing, but should have no problem against a Washington secondary that struggles to cover. A little pricey for a TE, but worth it if you need some solid points.

Darren Waller $5900

Possibly the best and most consistent TE this season, Waller is big play player who is taught to cover. Big, strong and fast, he is vastly becoming Carr’s go-to target this year. The most expensive TE this week, but hey, you deserve it.

DEF

New Orleans $3000

Did you see what the Saints did to TB12 and the Bucs last week? Imagine if they could do that every week? The Saints are facing a depleted 49ers team led by Nick Mullens. With injuries across every part of their team, San Francisco is looking to limp out of this season and into a dark cave. The Saints should help chase them to that cave on Sunday.

Week 10 Podcast

November 12, 2020 by nflinlondon

The dang Bills are on Sky again, & Ryan is seething mad about it in this weeks instalment of the podcast. For 5 Sundays this season, Sky sports have shown Buffalo game forcing Ryan to improvise, and once again he is foiled in week 10 as the Bills face the Cardinals.

Wade & Ryan look back at the week that was crap for 9, bitching at their wagers being screwed by crazy games. Phillip is up a River, Stafford got infected, and Cook continued to mess it up in the kitchen. Fantasies turned into nightmares, and the guys look to rebound in week 10.

America has birthed us more late games than early, making Monday morning a bit more of a climb.
Among the games the guys preview include:

Texans (2-6) vs Browns (5-3)
Browns -3  +54

Houston limped away with a win against the Jags, but they still have plenty of issues to address. Their D got torched by Luton, the worst possible jersey you would buy in the UK. Watson needs to spread the ball around if he wants a chance to win.
Cleveland is coming off a bye, which means that they will have some healthy guys back in play. Nick Chubb should be able to take over where he left off, making Hunt a threat in the slot. Chubb & Hunt together again.
Ryan & Wade both like the Browns here, who should be well rested.
Ryan- Browns 27 Texans 24
Wade- Browns 30 Texans 26

Bucs (6-3) vs Panthers (3-6)
Bucs -4.5  +50.5

Tampa Bay & TB12 got smoked by the Saints last week, which is never a good fuel for Tommy to make him mad. He was awful, so the Panthers need to replicate that rush if they want to stop his flow.
Carolina played with heart last week, thanks to C Mc coming back to score 2. Teddy was able to move the ball, but they still have issues with their secondary.
Ryan & Wade both like the Bucs to recover here, even if the Panthers are at home.
Ryan-Bucs 35 Panthers 23
Wade-Bucs 33 Panthers 23

Bills (7-2) vs Cardinals
Cardinals -2  +56

Buffalo beat the hide off the Seahawks last week until Russell Wilson was able to mount a late scoring push to not make it horrible. Can they replicate that gumption against the Cards?
Arizona took a tough beat last week against Miami, so they should be able to find some holes for Kyler to gash the Bills for some yards.
Ryan hates betting on his own team, but his superstition has powered him against the Bills, so he likes the Cardinals to win. Wade think the Bills will keep on stampeding, and upset the home team.
Ryan-Cardinals 30 Bills 27
Wade-Bills 27 Cardinals 26

Bengals (2-5-1) vs Steelers (8-0)
Steelers -8  + 47.5

Cincinnati has been a tough little team who can score. After a much needed bye, the Bengals are healthier and ready to rumble against an old foe.
Pissburgh is undefeated, but they are beatable. Dallas almost upset them last week when the Steelers seemed to  look past them. Big Ben might not be 100%, so he will need to be even puffier this week. Steroids should only be used in moderation.
Ryan sees the Bengals taking the upset here and handing the Steelers their first loss.
Wade agrees the Bengals will play with an inspired passion, but this Pittsburgh team has a tough D to shut down heavy fire.
Ryan- Bengals 28 Steelers 27
Wade- Steelers 27 Bengals 24

Sky Week 9

November 4, 2020 by nflinlondon

Sky Sports has released its lineup of Week 9 games, so you can decide whether you’re watching it there, blacked out, or on Gamepass. We’re back on a 5 hour difference with the North American East Coast, which is a bit of a bummer once you taste a 4 hour difference.

TNF

Thursday Football is like an old high school girlfriend. She’s nice to think about, but once you commit to spending a whole night together, you wish you were sitting with your sweet gal Sunday.
Hardly anyone watches TNF even in America, instead opting for a CSI Utah marathon.
It’s a Friday at 1:20 am game, so why not watch it? It’s lockdown baby! Are you getting up in early to chug coffee before a Zoom meeting.
The Packers are smarting off a huge loss to Minnesota & the 49ers are dealign with a huge loss to their team, who all seemed to jump on the injury bandwagon.
Packers should pound San Fran in this one.

Sunday

Seahawks vs Bills 6pm

Finally, we don’t have to watch the Steelers again this week. Sky rode Pittsburgh for 3 weeks straight, pissing off loads of Keystone state fans who can’t afford Sky. The Bills escaped a lucky one last week against the Patriots, this one won’t be as forgiving though.

Dolphins vs Cardinals 9:25pm

Miami vs Arizona? Unless you’re talking about a Senior Citizen Battle Royale, you wouldn’t expect this to be much of a contest. Luckily, both these teams have some quick armed, fast moving QBs who know how to win. The Dolphins also have Tua, who does none of that.
This game might be interesting for a bit, but you can always catch highlights on Redzone.

Saints vs Bucs 1:20am

Unless you were born in a cave, you might have noticed the weekly tally of Brees vs Brady with the most passing TDs. Please just STFU pundits, it’s annoying. We don’t need to see a ‘Breaking News’ banner across the screen every damn play. Let them finish the season, and then we can talk.
‘With a combined age of 83…’ is the kind of crap we’re going to hear all night.
Has no one heard of ‘ageism’? You just going to shame them every week based on how old they are?
Pretty sure if both guys were of colour, gay, coloured & gay, they would be less likely to hammer home the point each week.

MNF

Patriots vs Jets

Technically TMF (Tuesday Morning Football) as the hapless Pats take on the hopeless Jets. Who’s the real loser in this one? You, if you stay up to watch it. The Jets are not only tanking for Trevor, they’re taking one for the league, allowing themselves to be the butt, dick and stinky finger of every joke. Cam Newton should spend less time hat shopping, and more time reading defences.
A great game to watch the next morning over your first coffee dump.
