NFL in london

Playoff Picture

December 4, 2019 by nflinlondon

What a wild, and wacky week of the NFL!
We learned a lot of things from the Week 13 games, and it nicely sets up the action for the playoffs.
Only a few games left, and everyone of them counts.

There were a few epic matches in Week 13 that will affect the whole playoff scenario.
They include:

Bills vs Cowboys

The Cowboys were the real turkeys here, taking a beating from the Bills. Despite losing 2 games, the Cowboys move further up the playoff rankings thanks to the ineptitude of all of their division. The Bills continue to truck along, and make themselves a very unwelcome candidate to face in the Wildcard Games.

Titans vs Colts

Ryan Tannehill is for real! All hail our new GOAT! Ok, maybe he’s not that good-but he does a good job with that offence. Derek Henry is having a great year as well, thanks to that solid O-Line. The Colts are in freewill now, and it won’t be easy with another tough week ahead.
The Titans are another team you don’t want to face in round 1.

49ers vs Ravens

Well they slowed down Lamar…a bit. The 49ers lost a tough one to the Ravens in a wild weather weekend. It was a good, if not muted game-that saw how to beat both teams. They both move on in the playoffs, with the Ravens now in top spot in the AFC.

Eagles vs Dolphins

The Dolphins and Fitzmagic put the boot to the wingless Eagles, and that looks like their season. To lose to the Dolphins of 2019 is pretty damn embarrassing. And there has been a lot of shame going around this season. The Eagles pretty much handed it to the Cowboys.

Patriots vs Texans

So, Tom Brady is human after all. The Texans put the noose on the Patriots, and didn’t let go. With no offensive weapons at his disposal, Brady is going to struggle this season to go anywhere. The Texans have taken some big losses, but this win was HUGE in the tough AFC.

The playoff windows will change each week, with the NFC a hotbed of action.

Who will make the cut next week?

Week 13-Sky Sports

November 26, 2019 by nflinlondon

Another week of NFL, but this is where it starts to get funky.
The Thanksgiving games are always kind of like a blur of happy…like that time between Christmas and New Years, when you can do anything!
Day drink, afternoon drink, lay in your jammies all day.

Unfortunately for us in the UK, we don’t get to celebrate that fattening up event that is Thanksgiving, while our partners are glued to their phones finding Black Friday deals.
We have some NFL hat and jersey deals btw with Fanatics if you’e looking for gifts for your sweetie for the holidays.

Anywho, Sky Sports has released their schedule for this week, which also includes the Thanksgiving games.
Join us Thursday at Belushi’s Camden, where we will be showing all of the NFL games until 1am.

As you might know, if you live in the UK and DON’T have Sky Sports, it can be pretty tricky to watch those games as they will be blocked out. But of course there are ways to get around that.
Redzone is great for 9pm, when there are only 2 games on-as Scott Hanson furiously dives between the two. The blackout doesn’t even matter.

A recent study said that over 60% of NFL fans in the UK get their NFL feed from either Reddit; Facebook, or IPTV. That doesn’t bode well for the the contract is up.

The big game for Sunday is going to be the Ravens vs 49ers. The top D vs the top O.
The Ravens have humbled all but 2 opponents this year, but are now ON FIRE, as they head into the playoff stretch. This is deffo going to be an enjoyable game.

The Raiders vs Chiefs is a great divisional match-up on Sunday evening, with the Raiders starting to build momentum, with the Chiefs struggling to stay afloat.
This should be a high flying affair as well.

Where are you watching the games this Sunday? Join us at the Princess Alexandra in Crouch End.

Also make sure to join our DraftKings free contests this week, so you can win big.

Week 11 Scores

November 21, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 11 in the NFL is done and dusted.
So what did we learn?

Well, Wade & Ryan didn’t do as well with their picks as they thought.
Wade pulled off a 9-4 and Ryan rolled down with a 7-6.
Not bad for a tough week.

So what are some of the things we learned in Week 11?

It’s Almost Over?

Remember that barren feeling of mid-February? Well, that’s coming back. Although there will be some XFL to numb the pain of the season.
This season has flown by already, and as we hit the the run-up to the playoffs, everything is on the table.
Every game counts. Even ones against the Bengals

Oh Myles

Myles Garrett is a bad, bad man. Doesn’t matter what Mason Rudolph did, he’s the QB and you don’t try to smash his puny head in. Garrett will attempt to appeal, but he’s going to need to STFU and start doing LOTS of charity work.
He has a lot to atone for, and he will need to make the best out of being  a bad man.

LJ

Lamar Jackson is ripping through the NFL. After decimating the Patriots, LJ went out and made Deshaun Watson look like a punk. Their team came together in a grand ole affair, running all over Bill O’Brien and his inconsistent team. Watson was chased and hassled all game.
Everyone is going to need a Lamar Jackson plan, because he is coming for you all.

BearDown

The Bears continue to struggle, pissing off loyal fans everywhere. How do we fix the rot?
Why is the person who made the decision to go for Trubisky not being strung up and quartered somewhere?
Their O-line stinks, and they haven’t been able to stop the run since Hicks went down with injury.
Trubisky was benched for health reasons against the Rams, and it’s going to be a hard season to watch them finish out.
Plus every kicker seems to be cursed.
Is there some sort of ‘Wide Right’ spell that is cast on them as soon as they enter Soldier Field?

Screw Arizona

The Cardinals vs 49ers game was extremely frustrating for anyone who had a bet on the game.
When they recovered the ball on the last play of the game to put the game to an even 10 point spread infuriated fans who had money on the game everywhere.
You kidding me Arizona.
Luckily, I chose a bookmaker who had the spread at 11 points, so I was able to save something.
Hate games like that.

Viking Chokers

What a tough game for the Vikings, and even tougher for the Broncos.
They had the Vikes bent over a barrel, squealing like a pig.
And then they loosened the grip, allowing the Vikings to make a Super Bowl like comeback.
Good for the hometown crowd, but exhausting for the Broncos who choked so hard, they should have asked for a ‘safe word’.

Raiders

The Raiders have been playing well and keeping themselves in most games.
Josh Jacobs has been ripping it up, and given how pathetic their division is, it’s hard not to see them making a playoff push.
Jon Gruden has to be happy with himself this season, turning the drama of the draft and the AB situation into an after thought.
Good focused football, and a healthy team with a solid O line.
Could they disrupt the season and make a big impact?

Make sure you join our DraftKings League.
You can win big every week!

Oh Myles!

November 16, 2019 by nflinlondon

Myles Garrett is an idiot. Of course, you all know this by know after seeing that wild TNF game on Thursday Night Football.
He has been suspended for the rest of the season, and it’s considered ‘indefinite’, which could mean forever.
Luckily, no criminal charges were filed, as he could easily have faced a prison sentence for his reckless behaviour.

The Game

TNF on Nov 14th, 2019 was not a very important game with two teams barely able to muster a playoff run this season, but it was an emotional one.
It’s no secret that these two teams HATE each other.
Whether it’s the divisional rivalry, a lingering resentment amongst blue collar cities, or the fact that every time that they play each other-they get amped up.
This was a down and out dirty game.
With JuJu taking a blatant helmet to helmet hit, and after the play trash-talking increasing, it was evident that something was going to happen.
Violence was on the menu.

The Refs

What did the refs do?
In a season where refs have been on everyone like glue, you would have thought that they might have anticipated that this was going in a bad direction.
After the hit on JuJu’s head, did they take a moment to address the players and coaches and say ‘he guys, it’s time to tone this down.’
They didn’t.
This could have been avoided, and the refs should heed some of the blame in allowing this to go this far.

The Result

Myles Garrett apologised profusely after the incident, but as we know-that is just not enough.
When you watch the replay and see the intensity in his eyes, there was only one colour.
Red.
A red eyed intensity to bash the crap out of Mason Rudolph and everyone who got in his way.
No matter what he says after the incident, he was the one who pushed harder and harder throughout the game.
Did Rudolph kick him in the balls and try to rip off his helmet?
Hard to tell.
But he’s the QB. He is afforded a degree of protection, and if the refs did see something, then they should have nipped that in the bud asap.
Myles is going to need to disappear this season.
Just shut up, don’t be like Burfect, and accept your punishment.
If they decide you should NEVER play in the NFL again.
Accept that too.
Time to grow up son.
