2020 Draft Review

May 4, 2020 by nflinlondon

Well that’s a new way of drafting. How about that 2020 NFL Draft?
The world has certainly changed, & the NFL adapted and overcame with one heck of a draft, with a massive audience and a very entertaining Roger Goodell.

Wade & Ryan come together for a safe-distanced podcast to discuss all of the NFL Draft thoughts, as well as looking at some of the top stories in the NFL.
They also look at the other big news in the NFL UK at the moment, including:

NFL 2020 London Games

Who are we kidding? These games aren’t going to happen, and it’s only a matter of time that this will be officially announced. While the NFL is aiming for a 17 game season, it reckons that London will only be a troublesome problem to include in the new world of NFL.
Will the NFL come back to Europe after this whole Corona experience?
Sports viewing will never be the same.

Aaron Rogers

And the Packers select…Jordan Love. Aaron spills his drink, smashes the TV, and calls his agent. What will happen in Green Bay now that they grabbed the young Utah stud? Fast, big arm, and ready for a chance. If Rodgers gets hurt again this season, Love could quickly jump up to number one, as Aaron would look to other NFL pastures.

Denver Broncos

They are really loading up the WRs and RBs in Denver, but will Drew Lock be the answer? The Broncos stuffed a lot of tough teams last year, but could never really find their groove. What will it take to put it all together?

Cool Helmets

April 29, 2020 by nflinlondon

The NFL Draft is done, so now we wait. And wait, and wait and wait.
Supposedly the NFL 2020 dates are to be announced on May 9th, but it doesn’t seem very likely that things will be the same.

So to keep things all things NFL and fun, we thought we would share some of the awesomeness out in the NFL community. Take a gander at some of these cool helmets by artist Ted Hyman.
He has taken a very awesome approach to designing these, and it shows that he is an incredible artist.

While no NFL team would be willing to change their logo’s to a crowd-designed format, it is amazing to see what the fans can do when they are bored.

At the very least, it would be cool if these helmets could be added to video games, or other forms of media.

Which one of these helmets is your favourite?

What the Gronk?

April 22, 2020 by nflinlondon

As if the world wasn’t crazy enough with a virus, it seems that the Patriots are bleeding sick with talent.
First Brady bolts to the sunshine, then Gronk unretires and demands a trade to the Bucs.
What a time in Boston.
Patriots fans are in double shock and the rest of the NFL fans have a reason to smile through their facemasks.

It’s as sensational as Gronk itself, and the WWE contract ramifications make it interesting. Rob hasn’t played a full season for 9 years of healthiness, so it begs to see how much they will punish him.
How will he be able to be full Gronk in a season, if there is new season and how long it lasts.

The combination of the two will be enough to blow jersey sales and ticket sales out of the park, if there is indeed a way to watch the NFL in the new normal.
Fans will be captivated to see how the old gang can get together with some vicious speedsters, and a defence that was fast and furious.
Bruce Arians must be a very happy man right now.

The world will be watching Tampa next season, which must be nice for the Browns to not have the focus on them this season. Baker ain’t no TB12 though, so this will be an exciting division to watch.

So would you take Gronk as your first overall as a TE in fantasy next year? What about TB12?

XFL is Dead

April 15, 2020 by nflinlondon

Ding Dong the McMahon dream is dead.
Corona has claimed another sports victim, and this time it was the XFL.

The XFL was thought to be a much bigger and improved version of the AAF and was actually starting to see some uptick in viewership and fanbase, but like any sport in this new world, the weight was too much.

There was quite a bit of pomp and ceremony as the league was announced, and the TV rating rivalled that of NBA games. Like any sport in the first year, you are defined by how the season is reflected upon, and this was just a brutal end to a ceremonial start.

Much like Vince McMahon himself, the game was loud, brash, and admired by middle class America.
With shots of fans using beer luges with their cups, or the viscera trash-talking on the field, and scantily clad cheerleaders drew fans in after an exciting NFL season.

As corona spread across the USA, it was too risky to keep showing the games, and eventually chapter 11 caught up with the the league. It is dead, done and dusted.
Not even The Undertaker is willing to be associated with it now.

Vince and his family were able to convince Florida legislators that the WWE was an ‘essential service’, you wonder if her tried that with Trump as well.

Farewell XFL, we barely knew you.

NFL Corona

March 28, 2020 by nflinlondon

There’s nothing funny about this Corona virus…unless you are really looking for some laughs…and we are.

Corona and the Lockdown is no joke though, so listen to the authorities, stay inside & think of others!

Luckily ‘The Draw Play’ has come up with all of the NFL logos reimagined if they were under Corona lockdown. Anything about sports…humour and the NFL, we’re in.
Have a look, a laugh, and stay safe!
