DraftKings Party

October 24, 2019 by nflinlondon

Thanks DraftKings for a great party!
Our NFL in London team attended a wicked cool DraftKings fantasy NFL party last night in central London.
It was a great night of Champions League football-something we know NOTHING ABOUT.

We do love us some DK though, and we love to play every week in our League.
Have you joined our DraftKings NFL League yet?
You should!
It’s fun, easy to play and you learn A LOT about the NFL and the players by playing each week.

Best of all, you can play ANYWHERE in the world (that allows DK) so you can just jump on your phone and make your line-up.

Take on Wade & Ryan each week and you could win big!

London-This Weekend

October 23, 2019 by nflinlondon

Welcome to London NFL fans! Any plans on tap aside from the big game?
Well we have you covered with some extra fun stuff you can do this weekend prior to the LA Rams vs Cincinnati Bengals at Wembley stadium.

Whether it’s food, fun, drinks, laughs or sporting fun-let us help you out with the lowdown of fun.

Rugby World Cup

NFL rules the roost this Sunday, but it will be all eyes on the Rugby World Cup on Saturday morning as England face the beasts from the south-New Zealand.
The match kicks off at 9am on Saturday-so get yourself to a local London pub to watch it over Bloody Mary’s and breakfast sandwiches.
There’s more rugby on Sunday-as Wales take on South Africa in an epic match.
There will be loads of lovely Welsh folk out Sunday morning for this 9am kickoff.
Make a new Welsh friend and see if you can spell the name of the town their from!

Comic-Con

Hey you geeks! Love cosplay, comic books  & random celebrity stuff?
Then head on down to Comic-Con and get your Nerd-On!
Simon Pegg will be there, as well as a whole host of other celebrities you kind of might know.
Wear your NFL gear there and convince fans you play for the team.
There’s a pretty good chance none of them watch sports.
www.mcmcomiccon.com/london/

Country Music Week

Did you know that London has a huge country music fanbase? Or that every year it hosts C2C, the largest country music event in the country?
Boom!
There are oodles of venues across the city showcasing US and UK country artists.
Get into the spirit of it with great food, cold beer and lots of dancing.
Saddle up buckeroo, it’s getting country up in here!
c2c-countrytocountry.com/country-music-week/

Haunted Pub Crawl

It’s a drinking event…with ghosts!
Everyone loves to be paranoid when they’re drinking so get into the spirits.
There are loads of London tour companies offering this type of thing, so with Halloween approaching these are very popular.
Most tours are around 2-3 hours for a pub crawl (doesn’t include beer) and they are a fun way to meet new people, see the city and get pissed.
Here’s one to check out.
www.london-walking-tours.co.uk/the-haunted-london-pub-walk.htm

Football

Call it soccer to their faces. I dare you.
Get into the English spirit by watching Premier League games this weekend with a whole host of games being played.
Games generally start on Saturday at noon, with matches going on til about 7pm.
Sunday games start at 2pm and continue on til around 6:30pm.
If you plan on watching the NFL game in a pub…you probably won’t get to see it until at least half-time.
Pubs WILL NOT switch football over to NFL, they may not turn on the sound, and they will close early.
We will let you know what to do after the game Sunday.
Liverpool play Tottenham on Sunday at 4:30-so expect a busy one.
Also because Arsenal, West Ham, & Watford all play Sunday, getting home from the stadium will take a LONG TIME!
Plan ahead.

Phobophobia

Ready to have the crap scared out of you?
Then head to London Bridge and the vaults for Phobophobia, a collection of some of their scariest experiences.
With pulsating lights, holograms, zombies, and more monsters this is surely expected to scare the crap out of you.
It’s 16+ and if you’re epileptic-this will surely put you over the edge.
www.thelondonbridgeexperience.com

Day Light Saving Time

Damn farmers and their stupid rules.
The time change happens this Sunday at 2am, which means the clocks fall back an hour.
Sure you will get a bit more sleep, just don’t miss the game!
Normally NFL games start at 6pm in the UK, but this week they start at 5pm.
That gives you a bit (not much) more daylight.

That’s just the tip of the London iceberg.
Feel free to contact us about things you might want to do, and hopefully we can help you out!
Join us Sunday at the Princess Alex in Crouch End for loads of NFL fun.
Open late!
See you Sunday.

Monday Night Football

I’d like to apologise. I’d like to formally apologise. I’d like to formally apologise to Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick and the entire New England Patriots organisation. I’d like to formally apologise to Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick and the entire New England Patriots organisation for having the gaul to believe that for one second the Jets might have stood a chance in last night’s game.

New England

I mean… wow. That defence is nasty. It pains me to compliment the Patriots: I’m a Dolphins fan. How could I possibly like them? They murder my team every year, and are pretty much the only reason why I’ll likely not see the Dolphins make the playoffs in the next 50 years, until Belichick finally retires having won 24 Super Bowls and building a new dynasty with Tom Brady’s son Benjamin at Quarterback. I can’t cheer for them. But I can’t argue with greatness. If anything exemplified the Patriots mean streak it was Bill Belichick using NFL rules loopholes to run a whole extra 90 seconds off the clock up 33-0 and smirking about it when the Jets allowed him to do so but declining the penalties the Patriots had committed. They are stone cold killers. They suffocated the Bills into submission and made a talented young quarterback look like he was 6 years old and throwing the football for the first time. And then I wake up this morning and they’ve added Mohamed Sanu to their already impressively deep and varied receiving corps. However, I do think talk of a 16-0 record is a little premature – they have a significantly tougher second half of the season schedule – and the Ravens, Cowboys, Texans & Chiefs could all rest this defence in very different ways. However it isn’t outrageous to suggest already that the road to the AFC Championship will absolutely run through New England.

NY Jets

Let’s talk about the Jets. I actually thought their defence played relatively well. Brady was finding holes in their zones, but wasn’t lighting them up. The New England defence won them that game. Okay, fine, they had some help. Sam Darnold was bad. Really bad. When you throw four interceptions and lose a fumble, it’s never gonna be a good night, but when you’re wearing a mic and admit to “seeing ghosts” you’re reeeeeeally in trouble then. The memes, the tweets, the mockery… oh Sam. I’d stake a rather large amount of money that a lot of Jaguars fans (the Jets’ week 8 opponent) turn up wearing bedsheets with eye holes cut out of them. And on the weekend before Halloween as well; spooky and topical, you’re welcome Duval.

But, in the interest of fairness, let’s say some nice things about the Jets… Errrrr, LeVeon Bell was good! The lone bright spot in an otherwise terrible offensive display. He was his usual patient self, waiting for the right time to scythe through the defence. In stark contrast with Melvin Gordon’s current form, Bell’s holdout doesn’t seem to have curtailed his ability to be a playmaker. Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder are good receivers who will have better nights against people not named Stephon Gilmore and Devin McCourty. You just beat the Cowboys! That’s no walk in the park. Furthermore, just as the Patriots schedule worsens, the Jets looks more favourable! Jags, Dolphins, Giants, Washington, Oakland, Bengals & Dolphins again are their next 7 games. I’m gonna boldly predict the Jets win… at least 5 of those!? Miami twice, Washington and Cincinnati seem like free wins right now, and you’d have to hope Jamal Adams and Quinnen Williams could get one of Andy Dalton, Daniel Jones or Gardner Minshew to turn the ball over a few times. It’ll be too late for them to make a playoff push this season, but at least the future is brighter for the Jets. Darnold, Bell, Anderson, Crowder, young and exciting Tight End Herndon is back next week too… that’s a decent offense, and the defensive side is growing stronger too.

The only problem is, the Patriots aren’t going anywhere. And they might just be getting better.

DraftKings Advice

October 22, 2019 by nflinlondon

I started playing daily fantasy football after I won my league for the first time in its 17 year existence. I was the Chicago Cubs of my league, mocked by other teams, prone to unbelievable collapses but on one Christmas Eve, I did the impossible. I won my league for the first time. Best. Christmas. Ever.

I thought to myself, “I know a lot about football, I watch all the fantasy shows, listen to all the podcasts. Easy money!” It didn’t take long for me to realise that even though I may know a lot about football, I don’t know enough to beat a computer algorithm. When I realised I was going against Skynet I changed my strategies and it’s worked out. It’s not big money, but it makes Sunday more bearable when each week you watch your chance of winning another league championship disappear. Here are a few tips from a guy who won’t win you a lot of money, but can win you tiny amounts at a time.

Double Ups

These are my favourite kind of tournaments. Basically, all you have to do is finish in the top half everyone. You bet $10, you win $10. This was actually how I played online poker back in the day when that was popular. Member poker? Anyway, if you think you are an average player with a few good instincts, then these are your tournaments. Don’t be stupid, do a bit of research online and you should double your money a majority of the time. Unless you suck.

$3 Mega Tournament

Think about this tournament in the way you would think about a lottery ticket. You could hit the big one, but the chances are very slim, but if you did, it wouldn’t be because of luck. It would be because of your big, beautiful brain. Assume you’re going to lose this every time and when you win anything it feels nice, and it’s still because of you!

Do Your Research

There are so many websites that offer DFS help, tips by people that are way better then you at fantasy. (Yes, I know you won your league, shut up already) Use these resources. If a bunch of people tell you not to play Todd Gurley, and you play Todd Gurley because you’re a Rams fan, then gambling isn’t for you. Watch YouTube videos as well. The internet has all the answers, you just need to sift your way through the shit to get to the diamonds!

And the last tip which always comes into play once a week – Go with your gut!

Week 7 Predictions

October 19, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 7 is here…already!?!?
Holy crapola that just breezed by.
There are only 2 undefeated teams-with one of them looking like that they might be able to go all season. (Hint: The Patriots)

So who wins in Week 7?
Well our pundit Wade is fresh off a winning week and is ready to make his predictions.

Texans (4-2) vs (-1) Colts (3-2) +47.5
The Colts are coming off a bye week, while the Texans are coming off a strong victory against the Chiefs.
The Colts have one of the best O-Lines in league with a D to match.
Deshaun Watson is going to struggle and be chased, so hopefully he can make a few deep ball connections.
Colts are rested-& should win easily.
Colts Win.

(-2) Vikings (4-2) vs Lions (2-2-1) +44
The Lions were robbed last week in Lambeau, while the Vikings are high on their own supply after a home win.
Stefan Diggs seems to be placated after 2 deep balls, and Kirk Cousins is looking to silence his critics.
But is this the game to do it?
Doubtful.
The Lions will be angry after that tough loss, and motivated by the home dome crowd.
Hockenson should have a big day, as will Kerryon Johnson.
Lions to win.

(-3) LA Rams (3-3) vs Falcons (1-5) +54.5
Will the real Jared Goff please stand up?
He can’t. Because his O-line sucks.
Matt Ryan continues to toss loads of yards, but his D continues to let him down.
Will he be able to rally the troops at home?
Nope.
The Rams are ready to win after too many losses.
The Falcons are about to be humbled again/
Rams win easily.

(2-4) Chargers vs (-2) Titans (2-4) +40.5
Marcus Mariota is on the outs, and Ryan Tannehill is in!
What has happened to the Tennessee Titans?
They just can’t seem to get the gang together.
Funny that the Chargers are going through the exact same thing.
Except they seem to be in freefall. Continuous falling.
Titans will win at home.

(5-1) Saints vs (-3) Bears (3-2) +38
The Bears are fresh off a spanking from the the Raiders and a weak off.
The Saints continue to thrive without QB Drew Brees.
Teddy Bridgewater seems to get them through, but it’s really Sean Payton who seems to be out coaching the opposition.
This will not be his week as the Bears are at home, and looking for win #4.
Bears win.
