DraftKings-Week 12 tips

November 24, 2019 by nflinlondon

It’s Sunday funday, when you need to frantically set all of your line-ups, chase down any missing pieces in your squad, and if you have to…draft players in.

DraftKings is fun, because it’s daily-so even if you have been sucking in your League this season, you can turn it all around in a fun play contest.
You don’t even need to play for money, there are loads of fun free play contests, including one in our League as well.
Here is our Sunday Funday Weekly Contest. Join now and pay for free each week.

https://www.draftkings.co.uk/draft/contest/81268625

So who do you have in your DraftKings contest this week? Here are some of my top picks to help get your contest sorted.

Ryan Tannehill-QB-TEN-$5300

Ryan Tannehill? Wade…have you lost it? Yes, but that’s not the point. You want to find someone who has value against and easier D, and that’s what old Tannehill has. It’s no secret that the Jags have been playing defensive poo lately, so this should be an easier match-up. Tannehill will hit Derrick Henry in the backfield a lot, which means he could 100 yards just from him. Tannehill hasn’t been playing that badly as of late, and should be of good value to balance out the rest of your squad with a $5300 price tag.

Kareem Hunt-RB-CLE-$5600

Kareem Hunt has been a shell of his former self this season, barely making an impact this season. But that will change this week for a few reasons. They are playing the Dolphins. That’s only one reason, but there are a lot of factors involved in this. The Dolphins will struggle to stop a Browns team that is still smarting from the Myles Garrett incident last week. The Browns are going to want to establish the run to punish the fish, and Hunt looks to play the big role here. The Dolphins will struggle against a power 2 of RBs bang into their line all day. Hunt should factor in at least 1 TD and at $5300, is a steal.

Robbie Anderson-WR-NYJ-$4800

The Raiders & the Jets face off in NY, and the stakes are high for the Jets. They have been able to muster a few wins, and might be able to shake off the mono-rail like performance earlier this season. The Raiders are horrible when it comes to stopping the deep ball, and this is where the Jets should be able to find some momentum. Anderson has got some wheels on him, which means he should be able to find separation to get into the open. At $4800 he is a good deal, just for the amount of yards he will plow through as well. I like him to at least get 1 TD here as the Jets will look to exploit the weak secondary of the Raiders.

Michael Thomas-WR-NO-$9300

Michael Thomas is straight up shattering records this season. He is chucking up the yards and TDs as he continues to have a stellar performance. No one seems to be able to stop him. Given the anemic defense of the Carolina Panthers, he should have another smoking game at home. Once he gets those legs rolling, and uses his height advantage, mere mortals are helpless. He should have a few TDs in this one.

Here are some other dudes you might want to target.

Mike Evans-WR-TB-$7300-Evans looks to have a great game against a Falcons team that can pass rush, but can’t defend deep. Jameis is still putting up big yards, and he should be getting the bulk of the looks.

Joe Mixon-RB-CIN-$5900-The Bengals can’t do anything right, but they can run. In fact, Mixon does most of the work for cats. He should gash some yards in the slot from Driskell as they look to avoid that pass rush.

Make sure you join our DraftKings League, which is aptly called NFLinLondon so that you can join in on all the fun.

Week 11 Scores

November 21, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 11 in the NFL is done and dusted.
So what did we learn?

Well, Wade & Ryan didn’t do as well with their picks as they thought.
Wade pulled off a 9-4 and Ryan rolled down with a 7-6.
Not bad for a tough week.

So what are some of the things we learned in Week 11?

It’s Almost Over?

Remember that barren feeling of mid-February? Well, that’s coming back. Although there will be some XFL to numb the pain of the season.
This season has flown by already, and as we hit the the run-up to the playoffs, everything is on the table.
Every game counts. Even ones against the Bengals

Oh Myles

Myles Garrett is a bad, bad man. Doesn’t matter what Mason Rudolph did, he’s the QB and you don’t try to smash his puny head in. Garrett will attempt to appeal, but he’s going to need to STFU and start doing LOTS of charity work.
He has a lot to atone for, and he will need to make the best out of being  a bad man.

LJ

Lamar Jackson is ripping through the NFL. After decimating the Patriots, LJ went out and made Deshaun Watson look like a punk. Their team came together in a grand ole affair, running all over Bill O’Brien and his inconsistent team. Watson was chased and hassled all game.
Everyone is going to need a Lamar Jackson plan, because he is coming for you all.

BearDown

The Bears continue to struggle, pissing off loyal fans everywhere. How do we fix the rot?
Why is the person who made the decision to go for Trubisky not being strung up and quartered somewhere?
Their O-line stinks, and they haven’t been able to stop the run since Hicks went down with injury.
Trubisky was benched for health reasons against the Rams, and it’s going to be a hard season to watch them finish out.
Plus every kicker seems to be cursed.
Is there some sort of ‘Wide Right’ spell that is cast on them as soon as they enter Soldier Field?

Screw Arizona

The Cardinals vs 49ers game was extremely frustrating for anyone who had a bet on the game.
When they recovered the ball on the last play of the game to put the game to an even 10 point spread infuriated fans who had money on the game everywhere.
You kidding me Arizona.
Luckily, I chose a bookmaker who had the spread at 11 points, so I was able to save something.
Hate games like that.

Viking Chokers

What a tough game for the Vikings, and even tougher for the Broncos.
They had the Vikes bent over a barrel, squealing like a pig.
And then they loosened the grip, allowing the Vikings to make a Super Bowl like comeback.
Good for the hometown crowd, but exhausting for the Broncos who choked so hard, they should have asked for a ‘safe word’.

Raiders

The Raiders have been playing well and keeping themselves in most games.
Josh Jacobs has been ripping it up, and given how pathetic their division is, it’s hard not to see them making a playoff push.
Jon Gruden has to be happy with himself this season, turning the drama of the draft and the AB situation into an after thought.
Good focused football, and a healthy team with a solid O line.
Could they disrupt the season and make a big impact?

Make sure you join our DraftKings League.
You can win big every week!

Week 11 Preview

November 17, 2019 by nflinlondon

It’s time for the Week 11 Preview podcast!
Wade & Rya got up early on Sunday morning to broadcast this sucker, and put in some good research-so that you don’t have to.

The boys also touch on the following hot topics in the podcast:

Myles Garrett

What a tool he was, and a very lucky man that the helmet didn’t connect with Mason’s jar. We would be talking about a whole new criminal. This was a dirty game, and one that the refs needed to keep an eye on. They didn’t obviously.

Tua

Ouch! Poor kid. Watching him wriggle and scream in pain was one of the hardest things to watch on Saturday. The whole ‘Tank for Too’ chant is now over, as he needs to work on rehab and getting himself healthy. Football doesn’t matter as much when you consider you have one life.

Knee to the Head

Were you watching the Georgia vs Auburn game on Saturday? Well a side line girl took a solid knee to the head, and what an ouchie that turned out to be. Luckily, she’s ok-but it reminds you that you always need to have your heads up on the sideline.

Sunday Funday

November 16, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 11 is here already!
Holy crap this season has smoked by quicker than you can imagine.

So where are you watching the big games on Sunday?
If you have never been to London before and are expecting an NFL experience like back in North America, you are going to need to temper down your expectations.

London is NOT a 24 hours city, sports bars generally close by 11, and the casinos are a great place to pay £8 for a pint and get no sound.
Or worse have your pockets picked.

It’s always nice when you can sort a traditional British pub that has NFL & is open late.

The Princess Alexandra in Crouch End is not central London, but it’s close enough to it that you can watch all the games and still be able to shoot back into town.

You can get to the pub either via Finsbury Park station or Hornsey or Harringay train stations.
Alexandra Palace is right up the hill as well.

There are 3 massive TVs, plus the largest projector in North London.
It’s a great place to watch the games as well as enjoy some wings, burgers, and tasty cold beers.

So join us this Sunday at the Princess Alexandra in Crouch End.
See you Sunday.

Oh Myles!

November 16, 2019 by nflinlondon

Myles Garrett is an idiot. Of course, you all know this by know after seeing that wild TNF game on Thursday Night Football.
He has been suspended for the rest of the season, and it’s considered ‘indefinite’, which could mean forever.
Luckily, no criminal charges were filed, as he could easily have faced a prison sentence for his reckless behaviour.

The Game

TNF on Nov 14th, 2019 was not a very important game with two teams barely able to muster a playoff run this season, but it was an emotional one.
It’s no secret that these two teams HATE each other.
Whether it’s the divisional rivalry, a lingering resentment amongst blue collar cities, or the fact that every time that they play each other-they get amped up.
This was a down and out dirty game.
With JuJu taking a blatant helmet to helmet hit, and after the play trash-talking increasing, it was evident that something was going to happen.
Violence was on the menu.

The Refs

What did the refs do?
In a season where refs have been on everyone like glue, you would have thought that they might have anticipated that this was going in a bad direction.
After the hit on JuJu’s head, did they take a moment to address the players and coaches and say ‘he guys, it’s time to tone this down.’
They didn’t.
This could have been avoided, and the refs should heed some of the blame in allowing this to go this far.

The Result

Myles Garrett apologised profusely after the incident, but as we know-that is just not enough.
When you watch the replay and see the intensity in his eyes, there was only one colour.
Red.
A red eyed intensity to bash the crap out of Mason Rudolph and everyone who got in his way.
No matter what he says after the incident, he was the one who pushed harder and harder throughout the game.
Did Rudolph kick him in the balls and try to rip off his helmet?
Hard to tell.
But he’s the QB. He is afforded a degree of protection, and if the refs did see something, then they should have nipped that in the bud asap.
Myles is going to need to disappear this season.
Just shut up, don’t be like Burfect, and accept your punishment.
If they decide you should NEVER play in the NFL again.
Accept that too.
Time to grow up son.
