Week 7-BBQ Picks

October 20, 2019 by nflinlondon

It’s Sunday Funday.
Who do you have for your NFL bets?

Our man Wade McElwain makes his Week 7 picks as he BBQ’s an NFL feast.
What’s on his menu?

Beef Brisket

Jacoby Brisettt is Wade’s brisket, who is hungry to feast on the Texans.
They might be fresh off an emotional win, but the Colts are fresh off a bye week, & being at home.
Colts slice up a close win.

Chicken

Jared Goff had some great stats. close games, but no wins lately. His O-Line is as bad as the Falcons, who host the Rams on Sunday. Atlanta can’t stop the rush, and it’s going to be bad for them this Sunday.
Look for them to eat the white meat.
Rams win big.

Chicken Wings

The Bears host the Saints, who have shaken and baked some wins without Drew Brees. The Bears last played in London, where fatigue and the Raiders hit them hard. Kahlil Mack will rip Teddy Bridgewater apart like a basket of wings.
Dip them in sauce, make it hot, the Bears will punish at Soldier Field.
Bears win.

Use our NFL Fanatics promo code NFLLONDON10 to get some great NFL gear.

Week 7-Draftkings

October 20, 2019 by nflinlondon

Welcome to injury week, where teams struggle to fulfil their line-ups with a rag-tag collection of bodies who don’t break when they bend.
Numerous teams are struggling with injuries, so what does that mean for your DFS team?
Value.

One thing to keep in mind when putting together your DraftKings team is who are the Dolphins playing? And the Redskins. And the Falcons.
Imagine a security guard with narcolepsy, who just lets in everyone.
Those are those teams.
The more they score, the better you do.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some value in the games.

Matt Stafford (QB)-$5200
Stafford and his pissed-off Lions are hosted the Vikings in the dome on Sunday.
While the Vikings are riding a short high after 2 wins, are they ready for a Lions team looking for justice?
The Vikings are good against the run, but Stafford will have time thanks to his O-line to open up some space.
TJ Hockenson will be a likely and deserved target.
Stafford is posting an average of 19.4FPPG, and after the late loss to the Packers in Lambeau, the Lions will be looking for heads….and touchdowns

Allen Lazard (WR)-$3000
The Packers WR corp is like a broken toy box. Should you bother trying to put them back together, or just use some new toys? That’s what they will be doing this week, with Adams, Allison and Valdes-Scantling all injured.
So who will Aaron Rodgers hit? The speedster that is Allen Lazard.
At $3000, he is great value for the price, and sure to justify his value.

Devin Singletary (RB)-$5400
Buffalo’s speedy rookie is back from injury, and looking for space against the lowly Dolphins.
The weather looks good in wing-town, which means a nice bright future for Singletary.
Look for Josh Allen to use him in many forms in this game.
A steal at $5400.

Latavius Murray (RB)-$5100
Alvin Kamara is out, so what will Teddy Bridgewater bring to the table to face the mighty Bears D? They’ll lean on veteran RB Latavius Murray to try to open up the lanes and take the pressure off from the D. While it looks to be a low scoring game-Murray will take the brunt of the work, and potentially the bulk of the points.

Other players to consider include:

  • DJ Chark Jr (JAX)-$6000
  • DK Metcalf (SEA)-$4800
  • Matt Breida (SF)-$5300
  • Jake Kumerow (GB)-$3600
  • Phillip Rivers (LAC)-$5500

Wade’s Week 6

October 17, 2019 by nflinlondon

Woohoo! Another winning week for me, as Week 6 paid off in a bounty of picks-much like the Canadian Thanksgiving I was celebrating.
Let’s take a look at some of my winning picks (& a few stinkers).

Panthers v Bucs
This London game was a bit of a slow death ride for the Bucs, as Jameis Winston couldn’t even hold onto the ball. I was confident that the Bucs would be able to handle the cats like they did in Week 2, but sadly Jameis couldn’t hit the floor if he was black out drunk.
A sad loss to start the week.

Texans vs Chiefs
Was Mahomes injured? Would the D be able to contain Deshaun Watson? Nope. I knew that the Texans were too tough for the struggling Chiefs and this pick paid off huge.

Eagles vs Vikings
Kirk Cousins at home at 1pm. If he didn’t win this one, he would need to start thinking of his future. Luckily Stefon Diggs showed up huge with massive TDs and fantasy points.
The NFC North is tough baby!

49ers vs Rams
The Rams O-line is a joke, which is why I knew that the 49ers were going to baste the Rams. A huge win to take San Fran to undefeated. Can they hang on?

Cowboys vs Jets
I doubted that ‘dem boyz would be able to hold 8 points on the struggling Jets, but boy did New York really make a game out of this. Nothing like seeing the look on Cowboys fans who were shell shocked.

Steelers vs Chargers
The Chargers were favoured by 4? What? Easy line to pick with Pittsburgh struggling to gain wins, and the Chargers struggling to find fans. Pittsburgh took a well deserved win here.

Who will I pick this week?
Follow our picks and podcast for all the info.
See you Sunday.

Lions vs Packers

October 16, 2019 by nflinlondon

Who likes garbage?
Nobody except NFL referees, as they tossed garbage around the field in the name of penalties.

This was an atrocious day for refereeing in the NFL and they should either be shamed, blamed, benched or fired.
Having ref’d a few high school games in my day, even I would walk off the field if I was dinged for a ‘too many men on the field’ call.

The Detroit Lions feel robbed, and rightly so.
The officiating in the NFL is getting worse, how does this happen?
How do we have more scrutiny on the game and in their ears, and they continue to make horrible and dishonest calls.

Either they’re too dumb, or they’re on the take.
When you’re making $200,000 a year, your eyes and your ears should be on form for the game, but not these guys.

Someone needs to start a ledger of which refs continually screw up, and then trash them.

It’s really starting to ruin the game, and someone has to do something.

Now the Packers are 5-1. Way to go refs!
