Week 10 Picks

November 13, 2022 by nflinlondon

Another wild week of the NFL is behind us, as we head into the final European NFL game of the season.
If TB12 is wearing lederhosen, then it’s time for Week 10 Picks.

Wade & Ryan did ok in another tough week 9 of NFL picks, so hopefully they have some great picks for you this week.

If you want to hear ALL of their Week 10 Picks, then make sure that you check out the podcast here, or wherever else you find your podcasts!

NFLinLondon · Week 10 Picks-Ep 223

Bears in London

As part of the home network initiative this season, the Chicago Bears have the rights to put on events and promote the team across the UK.

For Week 10, the Bears are hosting a viewing party in London’s Flat Iron Square, near London Bridge station. For all information, and to see if you can get tickets, just click here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/official-chicago-bears-vs-detroit-lions-watch-party-tickets-452816013887?aff=ebdssbcategorybrowse&keep_tld=1

Amons some of the things on tap for this event includes a wicked viewing party as the Bears host the Detroit Lions at 6pm GMT.

Not only will fans have a chance to win prizes, and Bears goodies, they will also be giving away a trip to Chicago to watch a Bears game courtesy of United airlines.

Not only that, Bears alumni Ruben Brown will be on hand to take pictures, and potentially table slam any Bills mafia who want to talk to him.

Should be a fun event, but expect London prices.

As far as some of the games this week, here are Wade and Ryan’s picks.

Seahawks (6-3) vs -3 Bucs (4-5)  +44.5

The division leading Bucs have 4 ugly wins, so it seems odd that a hobbled TB12 squad would be favoured over a surging Geno Smith and company.
The NFL didn’t do any favours to the Seahawks by having them fly a crazy length on a short week.
Will the Seahawks be too tired to even dip their pretzels on Sunday?

The Seahawks have the advantage when it comes to health and wealth. Their running game is solid, and the O line is finally giving them enough time for Geno to find Lockett and Metcalf.
They have 6 wins when many people figured that this would be a Seattle building year.

The Bucs suck. They have limped through games, struggled to get the run together, but at least Tommy boy isn’t smashing tablets any more.
Why the Bucs are favoured is a big surprise? Who is going to score of them?

Ryan doesn’t like the Seahawks disrespect, and is tipping them to upset the Bucs in their German home game.

Wade agrees, and thinks that Geno and Kenneth Walker will pip Tampa Bay in a close, low-scoring game.

Ryan-Seahawks 24 Bucs 20
Wade-Seahawks 23 Bucs 20

Lions (2-6) vs -3 Bears (3-5)  +48.5

The Lions are fresh off a win, after beating Aaron Rodgers and the slumping Packers at home.
While Hard Knocks may have excited fans at their prospect at the start of the season, woes are starting to pile up on Dan Campbell and Detroit.

The Bears are coming off an exciting loss, which sounds weird. Yes, they lost to the Cowboys last week, but Bears fans saw something they haven’t seen in a while…points be scored.
Justin Fields lit up the grass, setting QB records Chicago hasn’t seen in ages.

Ryan is Bearing down on Chicago in this one, as he doesn’t see the Lions being able to shoot out against Fields.

Bears fan Wade is happy that they are favoured over the divisional Lions, but still thinks that Detroit has the tools to keep it close at Soldier Field.

Ryan-Bears 27 Lions 20
Wade-Bears 24 Lions 23

Vikings (7-1) vs -3.5 Bills (6-2)  +44

Finally a match-up between two winning teams, but will they have their rosters in tack to make this one a shootout?

The Vikings are fresh off a win, and bolstered by trading TJ Hockenson in to help them with some muscle and yardage. Dalvin Cook continues to be a threat, while Kirk Cousins is feeling fine as his team cruises to an unchallenged domination of the NFC North.

Hello Josh? Are you there? Bills fans saw worry last week as Josh Allen went down to injury, as the Bills took one on the chin from the Jets.
Can the Bills rally at home to get a big W, and stop a two game losing skid?

Ryan likes his Bills to win in a tight one. The crowd could be the deciding factor here, as it looks to be a blustery one in Buffalo.

Wade too likes the Bills, but will be watching the injury status. He thinks that Case Keenum can also get the job done, and might be a sneaky fantasy add.

Ryan-Bills 23 Vikings 20
Wade-Bills 27 Vikings 23

That’s it for our week 10 picks! Hope you make some money this weekend.

Week 9 Picks

November 5, 2022 by nflinlondon

The season is halfway done, as we rock our way into our Week 9 Picks for the NFL season.

Winners are now losers, losers have become winners, and the Eagles are undefeated.
Matty Ice and Baker ride the pines, Brady and Rodgers are making whine, and Geno is looking like everybody’s MVP.
Oh, and the Raiders suck balsam.

Wade & Ryan have done well betting wise heading into week 5, then the next three weeks happened throwing the league into a topsy turvy Vegas bounce of betting badness.

How will it all turn around in Week 9?
The Bills continue to throttle opponents, while team alike the Bucs, Packers, Rams and Colts, have lost the lustre of previous years, cocooning into a shell of their former selves.
Giants, Seahawks, Vikings and Titans have also made surprising runs when they were thought to be fodder this year.
Don’t write off the Falcons, Jets, Dolphins, or Bears either.

If you want to hear all of our picks, why not listen to this weeks podcast, where you can get all the info, plus plenty of funny from the mediocre charms of Mr McElwain and Cull.
Listen to it on Soundcloud here, and look for it on all major podcast networks.

NFLinLondon · Week 9 Picks-Ep 222

Here are some of the fun games Wade & Ryan are looking at in their Week 9 Picks.

-12.5 Bills (6-1) vs Jets (5-3)  +47

The Bills continue to steamroll through the AFC, as the hobbled Jets are next up in this New York throw down.
There’s no way that the Jets can upset the mighty Bills in this one (is there?), but they might be able to keep it close’ish if Buffalo lets off the gas.

Ryan is true blue Bills on this one, doubting that Zach can MILF his way to any offence in a one sided affair. The Jets are beaten down, and this one will be a Josh Allen and Gabe Davis bonanza.

Wade likes the Bills to win, but isn’t a big fan of the spread. Big lines have rarely paid this season, and the Thursday night Eagles gap proves you can’t rule out the home team to allow a blow out.

Ryan-Bills 30 Jets 14
Wade-Bills 30 Jets 20

-5 Dolphins (5-3) vs Bears (3-5)  +45.5

Miami and Chicago have made some trades of late, although in the opposite direction.
The Fins think that Chubbing it up will bolster their D enough so they don’t have to play catch up every game.
The Bears shed some expensive, and whiny D to build for the future, and let Fields roam in an homage to the improv scene of the city.

Ryan doesn’t think that the Dolphins will have as much luck against the Bears secondary, and sees a frustrating day for Tua, with the Bears keeping it close.

Wade also likes the Bears to keep it closer than the spread, with the weather forecast calling for horrible.

Ryan-Dolphins 27 Bears 24
Wade-Dolphins 23 Bears 20

-3.5 Packers (3-5) vs Lions (1-6)  +49.5

Winter has come to the NFC North, and if the white walkers had any idea how to play football, they would be quickly signed by either of these two struggling teams.

Aaron Rodgers is now blaming his ‘thumb’ for the woes, as he has run out of buses to throw his teammates under. The Packers need to beat the Lions for a divisional win, or else things are going to get trippy, but in a bad trip way.

Dan Campbell will probably lose his job and any potential soup sponsorship deals if he can’t get these Lions to finish a kill. They could score the points, then let the points get scored right back on them.
TJ’s gone, and he left salty. Hmmm.

Ryan thinks this is the week that Green Bay is ready to rock, and score some points. He thinks the running game of the Pack will be too much for Detroit.

Wade is calling an upset here, and not just because he is a Bears fan. Detroit is at home, Rodgers might be injured, and losing TJ might just be the motivation they need to flush out the toxins and get a win.

Ryan-Packers 30 Lions 17
Wade- Lions 27 Packers 26

Panthers (2-6) vs Bengals -7.5 (4-4)  +42.5

The Panthers have been declawed, neutered, and put up their kittens for adoption in a season that hasn’t gone the way anyone planned. Baker is on kitchen duty, and a stupid mistake last week cost them the game.

Cincy showed signs of life, then got the Ohio pulp beat out of them by the Browns in a slap to reality that made us question if the Chase is gone from the Bengals.

Ryans is calling upset on this one, picking Carolina to kick the nards of a wounded Bengals squad, and pull off the upset on the road.

Wade likes the Bengals to win, but doesn’t see how the cats could be favoured by 7.5.
Cincinnati will win at home, but not by that much.

Ryan-Panthers 24 Bengals 23
Wade-Bengals 23 Panthers 18

Week 4 Picks

October 1, 2022 by nflinlondon

Welcome to London everyone, as the NFL makes its way to the English capital for the first of a 3 game set.

It’s all eyes on the big smoke this Sunday, as the Saints and Vikings battle it out in north London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It’s going to be a wet and windy day with no Jameis, but that won’t stop the fans from enjoying another great game here in the UK.

With all of this excitement, Wade & Ryan bash out their Week 4 picks, in another ribald podcast of adventure.
If you want to listen to the full podcast of picks, just click here and share with all your mates.

NFLinLondon · Week 4 Picks-Ep 214

Which games are you looking for on Sunday?

Vikings (2-1) -3 vs Saints (2-1) +43.5

Are you ready for some football London? It’s the first big game in the city, as we contend with transit strikes, the London marathon, and the wet and wild remnants of hurricanes from across the pond.
Historically these games are low scoring? How about this one?

Ryan likes the Likes here to take advantage of a humbled Saints team that’s missing a whole bunch of pieces. Minnesota has a compliment of speedsters on their squad who can cause havoc for the Saints D all day long, and will look to feast on the ravaged Saints.

Wade thinks that this is going to be a slow, grinding game. With many young players travelling abroad for the first game, London games historically start slow…and maybe continue that way.
Low scoring, but D focused, Wade likes the Saints to keep it close.

Ryan-Vikings 27 Saints 17
Wade-Saints 20 Vikings 17

LA Chargers (1-2) -5 vs Texans (0-2-1) +44.5

What the what Chargers? We thought you guys were supposed to be beasts this year? Maybe they forgot the ‘s’?
LA has struggled to achieve the heights of expectation, while the Texans are exactly where we thought they would be.

Ryan likes a get right game for the Chargers, with a chance to flourish against a hapless Houston squad.
It’s time for JH to ‘light it up.’

Wade agrees that this is the chance to feel better by beating up on the Texans, to get your head right.
The Texans have too much of nothing to be something, and 2022 will burn on like another familiar season.

Ryan-Chargers 28 Texans 17
Wade-Chargers 28 Texans 14

Seahawks (1-2) vs -4 Lions (1-2) +41.5

Eeesh, this battle of 1-2 teams is a match suited for a next day, 40 minute recap.

Seattle has been barely bubbling under Geno Smith, while the running game actually starts to take hold.
Pete Carroll needs to make some statements that the kitchen is still clean, even if the cook is long gone.

Everyone and their monkey uncle thought that the Lions would be top of the pops this year, after getting the feels from them on HBO’s Hard Knocks.
Dan Campbell is fuelled by caffeine and has the energy to rock any joint, so what’s happening?

Ryan thinks this is a good chance for the Lions to grab the mane, and the win in a tight game versus Seattle.

Wade too thinks that this will be a close game, that will start out with a Lions roar, but eventually the sea birds will sog their way back to keep it close.

Ryan- Lions 24 Seahawks 20
Wade-Lions 28 Seahawks 26

Jaguars (2-1) vs -6.5 Eagles (3-0) +48.5

Who would have thunk that this would be the game of the week that everyone is keen to watch?
The Eagles are pouring on the points, while the Jaguars have finally emerged from the multiverse with a calibre squad.
It’s the Doug Pederson revenge game! How cold will this dish be served?

Ryan is jagging up that hill, buoyed by their recent wins, he thinks that TL and the boys can shake out a win here. He likes the Jaguars to upset in a tight one.

Wade isn’t convinced that Trevor can spoil Jalen’s day. The Eagles D and Hurts’ legs have made short work of many an opponent. This one could get ugly.

Ryan-Jaguars 27 Eagles 24
Wade-Eagles 38 Jaguars 20

That’s it for our week 4 picks, make sure that you listen to the podcast to get all of our picks, with some cheeky laughs as well.

Week 2 Picks

September 17, 2022 by nflinlondon

What a week that was in the NFL!

The Saints survive a sweaty one in Hot-lanta, The Fins toss around the Pats, Baker gets baked at home, and the Bears toss around the 49ers for fun.

If you thought Week 1 in the NFL was a tasty treat, wait til you see what the boys have cooked up for you in their Week 2 Picks!

Get all the info in lustrous form, by listening to our Week 2 Picks Podcast!

NFLinLondon · Week 2 Picks-Ep 210
Among some of the games that the boys look at this week for your betting pleasure, includes:

Dolphins (1-0) vs Ravens (1-0) -3.5 +43.5

Miami and Tua made short work (get it?) of the Patriots last week, while Baltimore took out the Flacco trash quite easily in a beat down of the Jets.
Are the Ravens ready to roll over the fish on Sunday?
Lacking the sweaty balls heat of south Florida, the forecast for Sunday is a wet one, which could lead to more runs than passing.
Ryan likes Lamar and the boys to put Tua and co. on the shelf, as they chase win number two in week 2.
Wade thinks that the Dolphins will prove too much for Baltimore’s D, and that they will struggle to contain the slew of receivers ready to rock.
Ryan-Ravens 27 Dolphins 23
Wade-Dolphins 24 Ravens 21

Washington (1-0) vs Lions (0-1) -1.5 +45.5

Despite being fuelled by 300 litres of caffeine on Sunday, the Lions were unable to make it rain against Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.
This week the get Carson Wentz and the Commies, as the Lions head home to the dome.
Can Detroit motor boat this lack lustre Washington squad?
Ryan thinks that is a sweet payback game for Dan Campbell, to trash Dan Snyders’ team. With such a loaded squad, how can the Lions lose?
Wade agrees that Washington got lucky with some of the Jag-off mistakes last Sunday, and that Detroit has the superior squad to get the W on Sunday.
He also predicts a bucketload of points to make your fantasy heave.
Ryan-Lions 27 Washington 21
Wade-Lions 33 Washington 30

Panthers (0-1) vs Giants (1-0) -2 +43.5

What the heck-a-money? The Giants are favoured in a game? Stop the presses.
Baker and the Panthers had a tough spot last week, facing his former team in his first game, that saw his old boys pretty much call every play he ran.
Things should be a bit easier this week, not having to face that Browns D again.
Wade is all over the Panthers this week, as the numbers in Week 1 don’t really bely the truth.
Look for Baker and Robbie A to light it up, with Christian grabbing at least 1 TD with this massive legs.
The Giants will not be able to compete.
Ryan agrees-and he thinks that New York being favoured with 1 win, is a sign of troubling times.
Some good fantasy value in this game as well.
Ryan-Panthers 20 Giants 17
Wade-Panthers 24 Giants 20

Falcons (0-1) vs LA Rams (0-1) -10.5 +43.5

The defending SuperBowl champs are crying in their rings, after taking a beating from the Buffalo Bills in week 1.
Limp, inept, and ineffective, and those are just the side effects of some of the American medication advertised!
Atlanta kept it close in a Mariota Moment game, which saw the eventually fall to Jameis and the sloppy D. This isn’t a sluggish Saints D that the Falcons are facing this week however, it’s a very angry, Super Bowl defending team.
Ryan likes the Rams to whoop the Falcons around on Sunday, with Allen Robinson finally paying off some fantasy points for some of his fans.
He doesn’t think that the Rams will be that dominant, and likes Mariota and Patterson to bring the points.
Wade too likes the Rams to win, and thinks that this 10 point spread is easy-peasy for a vengeful team.
LA lacked that killer spirit in week 1, and they will be uber focused this week against a sad sack bird team.
Yes, the Rams will win-and they won’t struggle
Ryan-Rams 30 Falcons 24
Wade-Rams 28 Falcons 10
That’s it for our Week 2 picks, let us know how you did.
Another great podcast up in a few days, enjoy week 2!

Half Bakered

July 8, 2022 by nflinlondon

We’re into the first week of July, which means the preseason is only weeks away as we get set to kick of the 2022 NFL season.

With all the hoopla and huzzah, Wade and Ryan take some time in this podcast to look at some of the lingering NFL news prior to the start of the season, with this Half Bakered Podcast.

Here’s the link to get your weekend sorted.

NFLinLondon · Half Bakered-Ep 201

Among some of the things the guys talk about in this episode includes:

Baker Boy

Baker Mayfield is officially a Carolina Panther. Or is he?
Further to a medical test, BM could be shooting his load down the coast this season to help the woeful Panthers move on from Darnold Time.

With all the drama coming out of Cleveland, it’s nice to see some sort of finality come to the situation for Mayfield, who has been trending dirty water in the wake of the Deshaun Watson trade.

Whether Watson plays this season is up to the football Gods (or Goodell)-but the way it’s looking, he’ll be riding the pine, while Baker has a chance to start and finish the season.

It could be the Jacoby Brissett show now in Cleveland, as Baker can finally go off to his own pizza oven and get baked.

Jimmy G

Now that Baker has finally found his new forever home, the lens of focus hits over to Jimmy Garoppolo and his perfect jaw.

With Baker shuffling off to Carolina, the only real places to fall for Jimmy G are the Seahawks, and the Seahawks.

Given the divisional double tap, it’s highly unlikely that San Fran would want to allow him to come back and torch them twice.

Jimmy might be best to wait until week 4, when many of the teams will have already lost their starting QB to injury  or jail.

That’s Jimmy’s perfect sweet spot-sliding into the DMs.

Nice Tat Bro

A few weeks have gone by without anyone mentioning Aaron Rodgers, so he did something about that…he got a tattoo!

True to Rodgers form, the tat is cryptic, mysterious, and way to expensive for regular chums like us to afford.

Aaron went all witchy with this one, incorporating lions, the all seeing eye, and only black and white bro.

If only the tattoo could run a 4 second 40, then it might have a chance to really impress the fans this season.

Bear Up and Down

The rumours are swirling that the Chicago Bears are teasing the city that they are indeed ready to pack up and move for 2026.

With a big ass facility in Arlington Heights, the Bears could benefit from creating a whole new world around the team, adding shopping, hotels, bars and a home for Aaron Rodgers to own the team.

The city of Chicago came back this week with a plan-put a dome on it!

Mayor Lori is proposing taking the NFL’s smallest stadium (61,500) and raise the roof, adding a dome and another 15000 seats.

Sure it would take away from being an outdoor stadium in one of the coldest NFL cities, and erase the gorgeous views of Lake Michigan…but Soldier Field!

The Bears have the city over a barrel right now…finally someone they can dominate!

Lion Bite

Who has the most expensive NFL offence heading into this season?
Nope-not them.
It’s the Detroit Lions. Wait, what?

Yep, the Detroit Lions have the highest pad roster this season, with a whopping $123m in salaries spread across the Goff.

Ranked by CBS sports as the ‘5th worst team in the NFL’, the Lions are ready to change their fate in 2023, by not becoming the worst team in the league (again).

No matter how much money they spend, they will never be the Jacksonville Jaguars.
And that’s a good thing.

London Games

We will be announcing some parties and social fun stuff planned for the next season in the next month.

If you’re a bar or pub in the UK looking to hist NFL parties and viewing events this season, make sure that you get in touch.
