Bicentennial Men

June 17, 2022 by nflinlondon

200 episodes of the podcast? Holy crap Wade and Ryan talk a lot of nonsense about the NFL!

We want to thank all of our faithful listeners with our latest, 200th episode podcast called Bicentennial Men.

In this 200th episode, the boys rally their NFL gusto as the drone of the off season continues to stagnate our summer.

If you want to listen to the latest episode. Here it is! Make sure that you follow us on all the great podcast sites so that you don’t miss an episode.

NFLinLondon · Bicentennial Men-Ep 200

Among some of the things the guys discuss in this episode includes:

Watson

Ching ching Deshaun, the numbers keep rising faster than any wins the Browns have achieved over the past decade.

Cleveland is dropping the steamer on Watson’s chest to hold him down for the season, but will fans protest, or will they even get to play with him this season?

It’s sad for everyone involved, we just want to see the guy go back to tossing INTs and throwing the whole AFC North into disrepair.

Commando Style

If any franchise was to receive a POS award, it would have to be the Washington Commanders.

From the creepy Dan Synder, to a stadium that floods poo, secretly recording cheerleaders, and a coach who thought the actions on Jan 6th was just good fun.
Commanders, we have a problem.

Jack Del Rio gets a slap down from Ron Rivera, but the problems remain in the capital.

Things seemed to go easier for the team when they were known as ‘Redskins.’

Buck the Broncos

“Attention NFL shoppers! The Walmart family is now an NFL owner, please head to aisle 4 for the blue light specials.”

Rob Walton (sounds so wholesome) has dipped his whistle into the NFL ownership, paying a whopping 4.65B for the Denver Broncos.
With the death of Paul Allen, that makes Walton the richest NFL owner by a long shot.

Of course the family is no stranger danger to NFL ownership, with Rob’s sister married to LA Rams own Stan Kroeneke.

The other owner in the new Broncos is Melody Hobson, who also happens to be married to the dark force of Hollywood-George Lucas.

So much for getting a black owner.

USFL

Have you been watching the USFL this season? No, us either.

It seems to be doing well ratings-wise, as the games are filling that bereft gap that happens during the early summer months.

With the final season happening this weekend, it looks like the Birmingham Stallions have the whole league wrapped up with undefeated play.

Of course it’s the USFL, so anything can happen. Like Donald Trump buying a team, then running it head on into the NFL out of spite.

Could happen.

Miami Dolphnuts

What a world it is in Miami, as all of the rumours about the Payton Super Team come out of the wood work.

If you hadn’t heard, the plan was for Sean Payton to lead the Dolphins, as Tom Brady switched to Miami to lead the fish to an AFC title, and another Superbowl for TB12.

Shit got real when former coach Brian Flores felt he was being told to use the ‘other fountain’ in a shameful display of racial bias towards the coach.

It all came tumbling down, but some of the rumours are holding water.

Brady confirms that this was the plan, but shucks-gee-golly, he always meant to be a Buc.

Maybe they’ll try again this year.

London Games

We have some exciting news to share with our UK fans for the upcoming year in the next month regarding NFL London experiences, and some fun stuff to happen for 2022.

Watch this space.

Spree Agency

March 16, 2022 by nflinlondon

Just when you thought that the NFL off season couldn’t get any more wild, we get the week that was.

Brady is back, Wentz is whimping in Washington, and Baker Mayfield is whining again.

Let’s take a look at some of the top NFL things that happened in Spree Agency this week.

Brady is Back

Hold my beer Aaron, the real GOAT is back in action.

After watching the Packers commit crazy money to Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady looked at it all and said ‘now they’re broke, I think I’m ready to return.’

Tommy must really hate his family, after all, why would he retire, then spend with his clan, only to return a few weeks late like ‘screw this crap.’

Luckily, the UK played a role in TB12’s return, as it was a trip to Old Trafford with the Glazers that solidified Tom’s return to Tampa.

Nothing like Cristiano Ronaldo looking at you and saying ‘are you really done old man?’ to get those juices flowing again.

Getting Randy

Randy Gregory was a beast on the Cowboys, adding to the ferocity that was a D that kept them in games.

Despite ‘Dem Boyz touting the return of Gregory to the fold, he quickly doused that rumour and signed with the Broncos this week.

Jerry Jones is said to be livid that he isn’t able to hold on to all the toys that he can no longer afford.

At the end of the day it was the tone of the contract, rather than the digits that swayed Gregory to switch over to the Broncos.

That Denver team keeps getting better.

Safety Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens added to their inept D by grabbing a steal from the Saints in safety Marcus Williams.

This shut down man finally gets paid, after being previously franchise tagged in New Orleans.

Williams will be happy to get 5 years of $70 million smackers, but he also gets to be the top dawg in a D that showed signs of promise last season.

Deshaun Lottery

It’s panty dropping time for some of the teams, as they show off their goods in hopes of securing the talents of QB Deshaun Watson.

The Browns, Saints and Falcons are all emerging as top landing spots for Watson, despite the fact that the NFL might still decide that he has penance coming his way.

The 26 year old still has 22 outstanding civil lawsuits pending, which are almost 1 for every year of his young life.

Whoever lands Watson will see their Super Bowl odds jump dramatically.

Landing Gage

No sooner did TB12 announce his return to the league, then the Bucs made a run for a division rival WR.

Speedster Russell Gage will provide a nice compliment to Chris Godwin, as the Bucs add key talent to their roster to make another run at the title this year.

Packers fans must be confused, how can a team get a top QB..AND new players.

What? Do they have money or something?

Packing the Wallet

Speaking of the Packers, there are already money problems coming from the land o’cheese, as Devante Adams is becoming Deviante Adams in his responses to the front office.

Adams is not only not happy with the tag, but also the paltry money being offered for his services this season.

While he did commit to being with his boy Aaron, how much is he expected to suck up to make sure that Rodgers is happy?

Jagging It

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been a running joke for the past decade, but will their off season moves finally mean some wins in the season?

The Jags are all-in behind Trevor Lawrence, and have spent some flashy cash in the past week adding some talent to support him.

Jacksonville splashed almost $200m on 6 free agents, apparently forgetting that you can attempt to negotiate with players for better deals.

Will it add up to wins?  It hasn’t thus far.

London Games

The London matches should be announced very shortly.

We will keep you all in the loop with the NFL in London news, as well as some of our plans for the 2022 London games.

Scoff Season

March 3, 2022 by nflinlondon

Well, that’s it for the 2021 NFL season.
Did it go as you expected?

Congrats once again to the LA Rams, and to our man Wade for picking them to win at the start of the season!
Great payoff!

Now that the NFL is done for the next 6 months, what the heck do we do now?

Well, there’s the USFL coming our way in April, a war in Ukraine, and whatever the heck the Raiders have planned for the offseason (probably more deaths than in Ukraine).

Wade & Ryan are back in action for our latest podcast, where they talk about this Scoff Season.

NFLinLondon · Scoff Season-Ep 191

Among some of the things that the guys discuss in this episode includes:

London Games

Hooray! More games for us!

The NFL announced that the following teams will be hosting games in London in 2022. The New Orleans Saints, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Green Bay Packers.

For those of you counting, that’s the first trip across the pond for the cheese-heads, and should tickle the marbles of any Wisconsinite this side of Illinois.

While we don’t know who these will be playing (you can see our picks in another article), we do have our guesses.

Regardless, the UK will be A-ok in 2022 with 6 teams coming to visit us.

Rodgers That

What the heck does the dastardly Aaron Rodgers have planned for the 2022 season?

More vaxy lies for us?

This wannabe $50 million dollar man has been coy about his plans for this season, and his said that he will give us the goods in the next few weeks to not draw us out over the summer (thanks).

The Packers will need to pony up $75M for both players, which is about a 1/3 of their total salary cap.

All that just to choke out in the NFC playoffs?

TB22

Tom Brady is retired…or is he?

Tommy Boy left the Bucs after getting dumped out by Matt Stafford and the champion Rams.

But does he still have some gas left in the tank for another run?

He is a SoCal boy, so maybe the 49ers will come calling.

We will have more NFL news about the London games, as well as all the fun things to do in the capital once you’re here!

Super Wait

February 10, 2022 by nflinlondon

Don’t you hate that week between the last Sunday of the playoffs and the Super Bowl?

Technically it’s considered ‘Pro Bowl Week’, although I think most can agree that there is nothing very ‘Pro’ about it, and Week should probably be spelled ‘Weak.’

To break up the doldrums, Wade and Ryan bring another podcast prior to the Super Bowl called ‘Super Wait’, as that’s what we seem to do before the big game kicks off in LA on Sun Feb 13th.

Here’s the podcast for your dirty ears.

NFLinLondon · Super Wait-Ep 188

Among some of the things the guys discuss in this one.

London Games

So it looks like London will be getting 3 games in 2022, with one game being played at Wembley (Jags) and 2 to be played in Tottenham.

Rumours are already rife, but it looks like it will be the Saints snagging one of the home games in North London. Which is nice since the team is hot garbage compared to what they were a few years ago.

Munich is the city for Germany going forward, with whispers that the game there could be between the Bears and Patriots.

Black Coaches

Most of the owners are white, most of the players are black.

The Rooney Rule was supposed provide a transparent hiring policy for black coaches and staff, but it seems to pay little more that lip service to a major discrimination gap.

Brian Flores is going scorched earth on the league, as well as any potential job offers he might have going forward.

Is it worth it?
Hell yeah., if it kicks the owners in the teeth to see progress being made where there has been surprisingly little over the past few decades.

Brady

Tom Brady is finally retired thanks to Shifty Adam Shefter and his need to break news.

Players don’t usually retire during the playoffs as its a sign of disrespect to the guys still playing, which is why it seemed odd that TB12 would announce this after losing.

Shefter shafted the press, causing the Bucs and Tom’s agent to try to get a hold of the story on their own terms.

Will this leave us with an angry Tom Brady who might decide to play a season of spite?
Let’s hope so.

Vegas

What happens in Vegas, ends up in jail.
That’s what the new statement should be after another player gets sucked into the legal vortex that is Vegas.

Alvin Kamara performed his version of ‘Stomp’ on a casino patron, and now finds himself finding a Las Vegas lawyer like many players before him.

If you’re a player heading to Nevada for a party, shouldn’t you really be on your best behaviour there?

If you’re going to drink, don’t drive.
And if you’re going to kick someone in the head, wear fuzzy slippers.

London Super Bowl Parties

Where are you watching the Super Bowl on Sunday?

Our locations are quite full, but there are a few spots left in Clapham and the Princess Alex.

Here’s a link to the Alex

https://princessalexandran8.co.uk/

A word of warning if you’re heading to watch the Super Bowl at a London/ UK location.

If they don’t show the NFL during the regular season, it’s probably not going to be a good time.

There are a lot of chancer bars hoping to scoop in NFL fans, without having any appreciation of the game.

The amount of horror stories we hear from people show up to places who either forgot to get a late license, don’t know which channel it’s on, or force ‘American food’ on folks that is neither American nor food is sad.

Enjoy the game, but be wary of the imposters.

Enjoy the big game, we will have our preview article out this week!

Diviz Memes

January 27, 2022 by nflinlondon

Geez Louise, what a weekend of NFL we just had! To break it all down, we have some Diviz Memes from the past weekend!

The Bengals get their wild cat on by delivering a vicious thump to the number 1 seed Tennessee Titans, then the 49ers march into Lambeau and leap ahead to the post season.

Not to be outdone, TB12 then steps up Sunday night for a punch for punch game that saw the old dawg head home, and new dawg Matty Stafford finally step up for a win.

Then came the game of the weekend, as the Buffalo Bills and KC Chiefs traded it out for a wicked Sunday evening of NFL.
If you haven’t seen the game, it goes down as one of the greatest NFL Playoff games in our lifetime.
Shame about the result, but what a game!

To honour the weekend that was in the NFL, we have compiled some of the best memes from the Divisional Sunday in the NFL, and popped them into a little post so that you can enjoy them all.

Sunday Funday

Make sure that you join us this Sunday at the Sports Bar & Grill Old Street and Clapham, where we will be showing the 8pm game on Sunday.
