Passing Leaders-Week 4

September 30, 2020 by nflinlondon

Dak Prescott might not be able to get all the W’s, but he certainly is racking up the yards heading into week 4. The cowboys have face some tough opposition, but Dak has been able to keep games close by torching weak midfields with his relentless attacks. He’s facing a tough Browns D this week, so we’ll see if he can hold onto number 1.

Josh Allen is more like ‘Josh Alien’ with his out of this world passing and runs. He needed to pull it all together last week to stop the Rams from ruining his parade. Josh will face the Raiders this week, which has enough holes for Allen to exploit.

Matt Ryan is on fire, too bad it’s like one of those bag of dog poo fires that gets all over you. Matty Ice has been connecting downfield, but not enough to give them the scores. He faces the Packers this week who are tough to pass against. Matty might drop this week.

Russell Wilson is the man, and he could have jumped higher up the rankings had DK Metcalf not been a silly-willy-nilly and let that ball get knocked out in the end zone. He will look to feast on a Miami D in week 4.

Patrick Mahomes might be only the 4th rated NFL player by his peers, but heading into week 4 he’s #5 in passing yards. He’s playing Bill Belichick and the Patriots this week, so let’s see if he can carve those stats even higher.

Who will have the best passing yards this week? Make sure you play along in our fantasy contests to win big.

Week 3 Results

September 29, 2020 by nflinlondon

Well that was an explosive week 3 in the NFL. Most of the early games started off quite slowly with low scores on Sunday, and then the scoring happened. And boy did those touchdowns fly.
Atlanta suffered another humiliation, having blown more leads than a pitbull walker. Buffalo almost suffered the same fate, but were able to rebound thanks to the heroics of Josh Allen, and the Cowboys found another way to lose.
Wade was able to bounce back with a respectable 11-5, while Ryan was able to muster a 7-9 to round out the week.
Where did they go right? Where did they go wrong?

Wrong

Panthers 21 Chargers 16

Oh Carolina! The Panthers were 6.5 point underdogs in this match, and were able to take advantage of some sloppy turnovers to win this game. Even without Christian McCaffery, the Panthers were able to capitalise on Charger mistakes to hold on for the win. They also took advantage of a weak Los Angeles O-line to get to pretty boy Justin Herbert. Herbert looked good throwing for another 300 yard game, but if he can’t be protected, what’s the point?

Lions 26 Cardinals 23

Kyler Murray looked human as the Lions were able to put together some solid scoring drives to not let their lead slip away. In their first win in 11 months, the Lions were able to get some confidence back in holding the high scoring Cardinals at bay. In the end it was the Lions D who was able to do the job, snagging 3 turnovers to keep them in the game. The Lions play the Saints next week, so they will need to let that glow of the W fade away as they prepare for week 4 reality.

Right

Bengals 23 Eagles 23

The first tie of the year, and the Eagles should feel crappy about it. Despite being favoured by 6 points, they struggled against a plucky Joe Burrow, while Carson Wentz was booed by a crowd less stadium. Burrow was able to go 31 for 44 and 312 yards, which is pretty amazing considering his O line offers as much protection as crotchless panties. Wentz looked like he was the rookie, chucking INTs and plagued by ghosts like Sam Darnold. Both Wade & Ryan thought that Cinci would cover, and they sure did.

Steelers 28 Texans 21

Bill O’Brien might actually get fired this year, as his Texans are taking a beating at ever corner. The Steelers spent a good chunk of this game just trying to slow down DeShaun Watson, until they decided to change strategy and attack the end zone. The punishment was too much for the Texans who couldn’t keep up with Big Ben and co. There were times when it looked like Pittsburgh wouldn’t cover that 4 point favour, but they were able to calm down, focus and hold off a Texans team that is now 0-3.

Wade’s Wisdom

Bears 30 Falcons 26

Big Dick Nick is the Comeback King. Yes, that sounds like a channel on PornHub, but Foles gave Bears fan a chubby with his ability to rebound against the Falcons. Wade wasn’t going to bet against his Bears, and was confident that the Falcons would choke. If Atlanta had a PornHub channel, it would be ‘Choke me Daddy til I pass out.’ Trubisky had a fun little run, but when it came down to precision and leading the Bears up the field, it was Foles all the way.

Chiefs 34 Ravens 20

Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers seem to be building momentum this season, so it’s really hard to bet against them in key matches. Given that Lamar Jackson has never beaten Patty, Wade wasn’t keen on that happening on MNF. Lamar Jackson had his run shut down by the Chiefs fast and furious D, while Mahomes was just sublime in moving the ball down the field. Wade didn’t bet against Mahomes, either should you…yet.

DraftKings Tips

September 27, 2020 by nflinlondon

Are you ready for some fantasy NFL for Week 3? The way that 2020 has been going, fantasy has been a hell of a lot better than reality. I’m here to give you some of my top tips for Sunday in the NFL.

Week 2 was a bit of a shit show, as teams were decimated by injuries to key people. While that doesn’t look good for the overall fantasy outlook, it does mean that some hidden gems could help make your DraftKings line-up this week. Here are some of my top tips to get you through week 3.

QBs

Nick Mullens $5100

Jimmy G and 40% of the 49ers squad is off this week, but it’s ok because they are playing the Giants.
I actually like the Giants to win this game, but that doesn’t matter that much in this pick. Mullens is a noodle armed backup that is surprisingly accurate in short to medium yardage. He won’t have much to throw to, but he will be able to get a few points off that crummy New York D.

Justin Herbert $5900

I really like this kid, he impressed last week and was fortunate enough not to get stabbed on the lung by the team doctor. Herbert is facing a weak Carolina D, and should be able to exploit some big holes & rack up some big points. For $5900 he’s a steal.

RBs

Jonathan Taylor $7000

This rookie has been ripping it up for the Colts, and he should find huge yardage against the garbage bag Jets. He’s well worth the $7k, as he will probably factor in at least 2 scores today.

Dion Lewis $5300

Saquon is gone, and the new guy is still getting use to the system, so look to see Lewis a lot in this game. The 49ers D is still fast enough to get to Jones, so he will need an option to toss the ball off easily.

WRs

TY Hilton $5600

Phillip Rivers and the Colts look to dismantle the Jets, so we should see TY Hilton ripping apart that ravaged secondary. At $5600 he is quite the steal.

Anthony Miller $4900

The Bears will look to exploit the big holes in Atlanta, and the speedy Miller has been a frequent target for Trubisky. This game should have a lot of points, so Miller will probably score a TD in this game.

TEs

Austin Hooper $4400

The Browns will be looking to smack up some points on Washington, and they are notoriously bad at covering the TE position. Look for Hooper to blast his way into the end zone in this game.

Hunter Henry $4800

A little pricier, but Henry will be a big target for Herbert in this game. He is a key player in redbone touches, and should factor heavily in this game.

DEF

Buccaneers $3700

These guys are fast, so when faced with an O line like that of the Broncos with a backup QB, they should factor heavily in getting to the QB. Loads of sacks in this one.

Week 3 Preview

September 23, 2020 by nflinlondon

Week 3 is upon us and what an injury prone season it has been thus far! Wade McElwain & Ryan Cull are here in the latest podcast to chat about the week that was in two, as well as they look ahead to all the games in week 3. Sure, we don’t know who will be fully or half back from injuries, but at least he have a steer on the teams as a whole. Our lines might change leading up to kickoff, so watch this space.
The boys also talk about:

London Viewings

Can we watch the games? Can we watch half a game? How many people can we watch with?
No idea here. The rules keep changing, but as it stands you can only watch in the UK until 10pm.
Given that the Premier League games now go until 8:40pm, it is unlikely many bars will show the NFL in entirety.

Injuries

5 teams took a lickin’ from a chicken in week 2, with the 49ers being gaslighted, trash bagged, and Cleveland steamed all in one. The Giants lost big with Saquon being out, and the Colts took a big D loss as well. If this trend keeps coming, there will be a lot of teams missing key personal by week 5. Heck by week 10, it might all be practice squad players.

Week 3 Picks

Rams (2-0) vs Bills (2-0)
Bills -2.5 +47.5

Buffalo faces a feisty Rams squad at home after a narrow victory over Fitzmagic and the fins. The Rams are on good form with Goff finding his rhythm of 2 years ago. This will be a fantastic battle of D’s, and both QBs will need to impress to find the W in this one. Josh Allen is the scramble king, using his legs and quick vision to spread it around the field. He’s going to face the toughest defence thus far, so the score should be fairly tight.
Ryan likes his Bills to barely cover the Rams, while Wade sees them winning by a nudge more.
Ryan-Bills 27 Rams 24
Wade-Bills 27 Rams 23

Titans (2-0) vs Vikings (0-2)
Titans -2.5 +47.5

The Titans are rolling at 2-0, but one of those came at a lucky break against the Jaguars. The Vikings are a woeful oh and poo, and they haven’t really shown any signs of life after being pummelled by both the Packers and Colts.
Ryan likes Tannehill and Henry to roll over the Vikings in a hometown beat down.
Wade is fond of the Vikings finally getting their shit together and putting together a victory.
Ryan-Titans 31 Vikings 13
Wade-Vikings 30 Titans 27

Bengals (0-2) vs Eagles (0-2)
Eagles -6 +46.5

Sure the Bengals are bad, but 6 points against Philly bad? This game will be a stinker, but Burrow and his footwork should make this one exciting enough. Philly has looked limp and lame, & will need to get their running game going full speed. The Bengals need to keep Joey alive, as they offer less protection than a homemade condom.
Ryan sees the Eagles getting a tough victory, while Wade has the Bengals taking their first win.
Ryan-Eagles 23 Bengals 20
Wade-Bengals 28 Eagles 26

Rushing Leaders-Week 3

September 23, 2020 by nflinlondon

The real star of the 2020 season thus far seems to be injuries, as it’s taken down more teams than expected. Of course, we did expect a few injuries due to a lack of preseason and the physical and mental tolls of Covid 19, but this is pretty huge.

Saquon Barkley’s injury was horribly impactful on the Giants, although it looked like he wasn’t fully healthy in that game even prior to the ACL. Devonta Freeman has been picked up, but it’s doubtful if he can make a real impact on the season ahead.

Looking at the top RBs thus far, it’s Aaron Jones in the lead, after a monstrous beatdown of the hapless Lions. Rodgers has used him effectively in pass and run situations, despite the team not really drafting any help on offence.

Henry has been another boom for the Titans, as they take their undefeated record further in week 3. Tannehill has looked better, which takes the heat off of Henry in third down situations. Not sure if he can keep up the pace, but a good start to the season.

Zeke has been instrumental in the Cowboys big start, although he looked like a toy in week 1 when Aaron Donald used him to smack Dak. They will need Zeke to keep up the big numbers if they want to done and dust the NFC East.

Nick Chubb and the Browns started out slow thanks to a drubbing at the hands of the Ravens, but his week 2 performance against the Bengals was smashing. The 1-2 punch of Chubb and Hunt make them formidable for when Baker Mayfield is fromage.

Josh Jacobs is simmering to a good start to the season, and looked good in the Raiders win over the Saints. Gruden has orchestrated some good drives this season for the Raiders, so if he keeps it up, Jacobs will stay in the top 5.

Who do you like this week? Who have you picked up on the waiver wire? It’s a big week ahead, stay healthy everyone.
