Week 8 Review

October 30, 2019 by nflinlondon

What a week in the NFL.
As we reach the halfway point in the season, some trends are starting to emerge.
The Packers are starting to light up the NFC. The Bears are stinking up the NFC.
Injuries matter, but not as much as Tom Brady.

Wade McElwain and Ryan Cull go over all of the top games from week 8 in the NFL.
Wade went a solid 11-4 in his picks, while Ryan refuses to discuss his picks from the week.
How did you do in your picks?

It’s the final week of the NFL in London, are you going to the game?

Make sure you follow us and subscribe to our YouTube channel so that you don’t miss out on any of the action.

NFL Bad Lips

October 29, 2019 by nflinlondon

Bad Lip Reading is one of those internet institutions that makes you laugh.
Whether it’s taking the piss out of the royal family, celebrated events, and of course the NFL.
These guys have a lot of fun making these goofy videos.

So this one is a bit of a throwback to the start of the season, but when your team starts tanking, it’s good to have a laugh at their expense.

Have a rollick with this video.
Sure that there will be a new one of these out soon.

Week 8 Preview

October 26, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 8 preview with Wade & Ryan. They look at all the big games, especially the mammoth match up between the LA Rams and Cincinnati Bengals at Wembley.
They break down the matches, the injuries, and the results.
Take their picks and you could win big.
Here are some upsets they agree on.

-13.5 LA Rams (4-3) vs Bengals (0-7)
London gets a Bengals team that hasn’t seen a tiger publicly flogged like this since a Barnum’s & Bailey’s circus. The Rams look to knock the cats off the cliff to their death in this contest. The only hope for the Bengals is jet lag, tummy bugs, and slutty girls from Essex.
RAMS CRUSH THE BENGALS

Giants (2-5) vs -7 Lions (2-3-1)
Detroit is smarting after that kicking last week, so will want to rebound at home.
Can Danny Dimes put the Giants in a position where they can score, defend & answer back?
7 points is a bit too much to ask in this one.
Giants will keep it close because the Detroit secondary is a wounded gazelle.
GIANTS TO COVER

Jets (1-5) vs -6 Jaguars (3-4)
Do you see ghosts now Sam Darnold? Or will you see zombies?
The Jags D is depleted since Jalen went to eat big brain money, and Sammy has some deep threat targets.
Jets will torch the Jags in the secondary.
Jets will want to rebound, and Minshew needs some moustache wax.
JETS WIN

Bucs (3-4) vs -2.5 Titans (3-4)
Bruce Arians doesn’t need to whisper anymore, he needs to shout, kick and punch.
The Bucs certainly have none of that, and have more missing pieces than a jigsaw puzzle in a nursing home.
The Titans are enthused under Tannehill and he will be fired up to put up a win at home.
He has the tools, and a solid enough D.

London-This Weekend

October 23, 2019 by nflinlondon

Welcome to London NFL fans! Any plans on tap aside from the big game?
Well we have you covered with some extra fun stuff you can do this weekend prior to the LA Rams vs Cincinnati Bengals at Wembley stadium.

Whether it’s food, fun, drinks, laughs or sporting fun-let us help you out with the lowdown of fun.

Rugby World Cup

NFL rules the roost this Sunday, but it will be all eyes on the Rugby World Cup on Saturday morning as England face the beasts from the south-New Zealand.
The match kicks off at 9am on Saturday-so get yourself to a local London pub to watch it over Bloody Mary’s and breakfast sandwiches.
There’s more rugby on Sunday-as Wales take on South Africa in an epic match.
There will be loads of lovely Welsh folk out Sunday morning for this 9am kickoff.
Make a new Welsh friend and see if you can spell the name of the town their from!

Comic-Con

Hey you geeks! Love cosplay, comic books  & random celebrity stuff?
Then head on down to Comic-Con and get your Nerd-On!
Simon Pegg will be there, as well as a whole host of other celebrities you kind of might know.
Wear your NFL gear there and convince fans you play for the team.
There’s a pretty good chance none of them watch sports.

Country Music Week

Did you know that London has a huge country music fanbase? Or that every year it hosts C2C, the largest country music event in the country?
Boom!
There are oodles of venues across the city showcasing US and UK country artists.
Get into the spirit of it with great food, cold beer and lots of dancing.
Saddle up buckeroo, it’s getting country up in here!

Haunted Pub Crawl

It’s a drinking event…with ghosts!
Everyone loves to be paranoid when they’re drinking so get into the spirits.
There are loads of London tour companies offering this type of thing, so with Halloween approaching these are very popular.
Most tours are around 2-3 hours for a pub crawl (doesn’t include beer) and they are a fun way to meet new people, see the city and get pissed.
Here’s one to check out.

Football

Call it soccer to their faces. I dare you.
Get into the English spirit by watching Premier League games this weekend with a whole host of games being played.
Games generally start on Saturday at noon, with matches going on til about 7pm.
Sunday games start at 2pm and continue on til around 6:30pm.
If you plan on watching the NFL game in a pub…you probably won’t get to see it until at least half-time.
Pubs WILL NOT switch football over to NFL, they may not turn on the sound, and they will close early.
We will let you know what to do after the game Sunday.
Liverpool play Tottenham on Sunday at 4:30-so expect a busy one.
Also because Arsenal, West Ham, & Watford all play Sunday, getting home from the stadium will take a LONG TIME!
Plan ahead.

Phobophobia

Ready to have the crap scared out of you?
Then head to London Bridge and the vaults for Phobophobia, a collection of some of their scariest experiences.
With pulsating lights, holograms, zombies, and more monsters this is surely expected to scare the crap out of you.
It’s 16+ and if you’re epileptic-this will surely put you over the edge.

Day Light Saving Time

Damn farmers and their stupid rules.
The time change happens this Sunday at 2am, which means the clocks fall back an hour.
Sure you will get a bit more sleep, just don’t miss the game!
Normally NFL games start at 6pm in the UK, but this week they start at 5pm.
That gives you a bit (not much) more daylight.

That’s just the tip of the London iceberg.
Feel free to contact us about things you might want to do, and hopefully we can help you out!
Join us Sunday at the Princess Alex in Crouch End for loads of NFL fun.
Open late!
See you Sunday.

Brady’s 1st Game

October 19, 2019 by nflinlondon

The year was 20 ought 01, it was a much different world.

President George W Bush was president of the US, Time Warner had just meshed with AOL to create a HUGE new ‘internet’ company, & Jennifer Lopez reminded us that he ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing.’
What a glorious time to be alive.

It was also in this year that Tom Brady was coming alive.
While the US was hurting from the attacks of 9-11, another attack was coming-& it was on Drew Bledsoe.

Bledsoe was the lanky, thin-headed QB for the New England Patriots-who went down to injury in Game 2 of the 2001 season.
Their third game was against the high-flying Indianapolis Colts with their horse-headed leader Peyton Manning.

Brady would rise to the challenge to defeat the Colts, and go on his way to 6 Super Bowl rings, 1 Super Model wife, and a super career in acting.

Sniff a snort of nostalgia.
