Week 11 Picks

November 17, 2019 by nflinlondon

If you wanna make money in the NFL, then you have to parlay.
Find some nice, juicy games that will pay off-put’em together and make some beautiful betting music.
Of course, it’s hard to find the right tips from a legitimate tipster.
Luckily, I have had a good season of 63% correct in against the spread betting.
I was as high as 71% a few weeks ago, but you know-stuff happens.
Let’s take a look at my record thus far:

Wade’s NFL Weekly Record

Week 1/ 5-11
Week 2/ 8-8
Week 3/ 13-3
Week 4/ 11-4
Week 5/ 11-4
Week 6/ 11-4
Week 7/ 10-4
Week 8/ 11-4
Week 9/ 4-9
Week 10/ 9-4

Record: 93-55

As you can see, Week 1 and Week 9 were a punch in the dick, but you’re going to have those once in a while.

Here are some of my top picks for Week 11.
You might want to add some of these bad boys into a tasty little parlay to increase the amount you can win.
I generally pick games that are upsets, or games where the spread is just way to dang high.

-6 Saints (7-2) vs Bucs (3-6) +50

The Bucs have been playing some ugly football. Jameis Winston had issues holding onto the ball, as well as some Mr. Magoo-like vision in the earlier part of the season, but seems to have settled down a bit as of late.
The Saints were humming, then the Falcons came to town and made them look like chumps.
Was that a one-off, or did the Falcons expose their weakness?
This line is too high for the Bucs at home. They put up a ton of points, and their D line should have no problem swamping up Kamara.
Saints should win, but the Bucs will cover the spread.
Bucs COVER.

Falcons (2-7) vs -4.5 Panthers (5-4) +49.5

Atlanta is coming off a hot win over New Orleans last week, and are all smiles like a dude coming out clean after an STD test. Matt Ryan has put up some good stats, but the wins have been as elusive as his offensive line.
Christian McCaffrey is holding the Panthers together, but he is only one man with an inept QB.
The Falcons are feeling juicy, they will probably lose-but will keep it closer than you think.
Falcons COVER.

Texans (6-3) vs -4 Ravens (7-2) +51.5

Where were you when the Ravens beat the Patriots 2 weeks ago? What were you wearing? How did it feel?
The Ravens gave everyone some warm fuzzies when they were able to humble Tom Brady and the Patriots on a late Sunday evening.
They whooped the Bengals last week and now they face Deshaun Watson.
Will the Texans D be able to contain Lamar Jackson?
More importantly-will the Ravens be able to shut down Deshaun Watson?
Doubtful. Love the Texans here after a week off of having loads of time to watch Ravens games.
This will be a tight, fun game-but the Texans should prevail.
Texans WIN.

Jaguars (4-5) vs -3 Colts (5-4) +43.5

Big Dick Nick is swinging! Lock up your wives and tight ends.
Will Nick make a big enough difference in this game against Jacoby Brissett?
This is a hard one (pun intended), as Foles is kind of unproven despite looking good for a bit in Week 1.
The Colts still have a great O-line and defense, so it will be tough for Nick to get a rhythm going.
He will need to reply on Leonard Fournette to get some real action here.
This game SHOULD be a low scoring, close game.
The Colts seem to screw-up these division games
Jags COVER

-3.5 Patriots (8-1) vs  Eagles (5-4) +45.5

Is this really a retribution game if the Patriots don’t care & think that it is?
Philly will be looking to capitalise on the Pats loss against the Ravens, but obviously don’t have the tools to do so.
It will be interesting to see how their D chases Tom, as he loves to munch blitzes-so they will need to stagger rush.
The Eagles have Jay Ajayi back, which will make British broadcasters happy-but he has been off a bit, so doubtful he is in any form.
The Eagles will need to get a run going vs this crazy Pats D who has had a week off.
Billy B is deadly with a week off, so it’s hard to see the Eagles doing any damage to the champs here.
Eagles should keep it close though.
Eagles COVER.

Bears (4-5) vs -6.5 Rams (5-4)

Woe is Bears. With some key injuries affecting their D, as well as Kyle Long disappearing from the O-line, the Bears have struggled to get on form from last season.
Not as badly as the Rams, but bad.
I have gone on at length that Jared Goff looks ‘shell-shocked’ from the Super Bowl loss last year, and he doesn’t show any signs of getting better this season.
His O-line is a shambles, and their running game is not what it use to be.
The Bears need to establish the run, and chase the heck out of Goff to get some pick sixes.
Bears COVER.

Sunday Funday

November 16, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 11 is here already!
Holy crap this season has smoked by quicker than you can imagine.

So where are you watching the big games on Sunday?
If you have never been to London before and are expecting an NFL experience like back in North America, you are going to need to temper down your expectations.

London is NOT a 24 hours city, sports bars generally close by 11, and the casinos are a great place to pay £8 for a pint and get no sound.
Or worse have your pockets picked.

It’s always nice when you can sort a traditional British pub that has NFL & is open late.

The Princess Alexandra in Crouch End is not central London, but it’s close enough to it that you can watch all the games and still be able to shoot back into town.

You can get to the pub either via Finsbury Park station or Hornsey or Harringay train stations.
Alexandra Palace is right up the hill as well.

There are 3 massive TVs, plus the largest projector in North London.
It’s a great place to watch the games as well as enjoy some wings, burgers, and tasty cold beers.

So join us this Sunday at the Princess Alexandra in Crouch End.
See you Sunday.

Oh Myles!

November 16, 2019 by nflinlondon

Myles Garrett is an idiot. Of course, you all know this by know after seeing that wild TNF game on Thursday Night Football.
He has been suspended for the rest of the season, and it’s considered ‘indefinite’, which could mean forever.
Luckily, no criminal charges were filed, as he could easily have faced a prison sentence for his reckless behaviour.

The Game

TNF on Nov 14th, 2019 was not a very important game with two teams barely able to muster a playoff run this season, but it was an emotional one.
It’s no secret that these two teams HATE each other.
Whether it’s the divisional rivalry, a lingering resentment amongst blue collar cities, or the fact that every time that they play each other-they get amped up.
This was a down and out dirty game.
With JuJu taking a blatant helmet to helmet hit, and after the play trash-talking increasing, it was evident that something was going to happen.
Violence was on the menu.

The Refs

What did the refs do?
In a season where refs have been on everyone like glue, you would have thought that they might have anticipated that this was going in a bad direction.
After the hit on JuJu’s head, did they take a moment to address the players and coaches and say ‘he guys, it’s time to tone this down.’
They didn’t.
This could have been avoided, and the refs should heed some of the blame in allowing this to go this far.

The Result

Myles Garrett apologised profusely after the incident, but as we know-that is just not enough.
When you watch the replay and see the intensity in his eyes, there was only one colour.
Red.
A red eyed intensity to bash the crap out of Mason Rudolph and everyone who got in his way.
No matter what he says after the incident, he was the one who pushed harder and harder throughout the game.
Did Rudolph kick him in the balls and try to rip off his helmet?
Hard to tell.
But he’s the QB. He is afforded a degree of protection, and if the refs did see something, then they should have nipped that in the bud asap.
Myles is going to need to disappear this season.
Just shut up, don’t be like Burfect, and accept your punishment.
If they decide you should NEVER play in the NFL again.
Accept that too.
Time to grow up son.

Best RB Quiz

November 10, 2019 by nflinlondon

NFL RB QUiZ

Can you name some of the best running backs in the NFL?
Are you able to smell out the ‘Sweetness‘, taste the ‘Juice‘, or will you be sucking up ‘Diesel‘?
Get 20/20 or get run over by the ‘Bus‘.

The answers to the quiz are at the end of video.

Walter Payton

Who would be my top running back of all time?
Not much time to think on this one.
It would have to be Walter Payton.
Sure, he’s a Chicago Bear, I have a bias to them, & he was one of my all time heroes growing up.
He’s still the best.
Walter was called sweetness not only for his fancy moves on the field, but of his charisma, charm and integrity off the field.

Emmitt Smith

I also grew up hating Emmitt Smith.
Only because my friend John Prpic was a Cowboys fan, and I loud bulwark during the heyday of Troy & the boys.
He was darn good though.
‘Catch 22’ could cut through a defence like Christmas paper and not leave any blood.
That Cowboys team was a solid one.

John Riggins

Diesel was crazy. I remember watching him in the 80s’ with my dad, & he was enthralled with how fierce Riggins was. Riggins played like he was on meth & enjoyed it. He beat up other teams, gashed yards & enjoyed it. Later on, he also delved into media, which was equally awesome to watch him try to act, and not like it was on a substance.
No personalities like that these days.

Bo Jackson

Everybody knows Bo.
Bo blew up my childhood more than when I created mustard gas when I was 10.
Watching him dominate in 2 sports was a revelation of potential.
Bo knew and did it all.
He was black Santa, that killed it in every sport.
When I’m drunk I don’t call my exes, I watch old video of Bo Jackson running up the wall to catch a baseball.

OJ Simpson

Say what you will about OJ, murdering his wife, being a dick, fathering a Kardashian..he actually played football. And like, good.
Juice gave Buffalo hope to a town that was only known for massacring, frying & marinating chickens for their non-flight ability.
That’s a lot of hope.

Jim Brown

Jim Brown was a bad ass-mofo.
Not only could NO ONE stop him on the field, he was cool off the field as well.
Brown beat up other teams with his punishing assault on their D line, putting the fear of injury in many a man who needed a smoke during the turnovers.
Number 32 was also a great actor and mentor as well as an inspiration to African American artists & athletes.

How many can you get right on this tough quiz?

I would be truly impressed if you could get 20/20 on the first go.

Week 10-Sky

November 6, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 10 already?!?!
How is this season blowing by so quickly?

Week 9 brought some joy, some pain and many more questions.
Obviously it was nice to see the Patriots lose their FIRST game of the season, and add to that a Packers humiliating loss to the lowly Chargers, and things were looking pretty good.
Which of these teams will bounce back in Week 10?

Sky Sports has announced their schedule for Week 10, so that you can catch some of the best games in full HD.
While most people aren’t up for the Thursday and Monday night games, the 6pm and 9pm games should be some pretty big contests.
(These games are blacked out for Gamepass users).

The 6pm game is the Cardinals vs Bucs, which must have been chosen since their fans will probably never see them on TV. Both teams stink bad, and this game will probably stink even worse.
Maybe Kyler can get a win here against Shame-is and his inept offence?
This game screams ‘what’s on Gamepass?’

The 9pm game should be better as the Panthers take on the Packers at home. After watching the Chargers lay a beat down on the Packers D, maybe there is a bit of a roadmap here for future beatings?
The Packers should be ready to toss down after that tough game last week.

Still up at 1am? Then you can watch the Vikings and the Cowboys throw down until the wee hours.
Last week’s beating of the Patriots was a treat, so maybe them Boyz will figure out what it’s like to play teams with a good D.
Should be the best game of the bunch.

Join us Sunday at the Princess Alexandra in Crouch End to watch all the games and Redzone!
