Empire Fantasy Football

September 7, 2021 by nflinlondon

With the NFL only days away, everyone is frantically getting ready for what the season ahead holds.
Will the season go on without any hiccups?
Will the extra week of games add to more injuries?
How will my fantasy season go?

Let’s face it, Fantasy Football is the lifeblood of NFL fans during the season.
Diehard fans bleed their teams, often splattering this information to anyone who will listen.
‘Is Zeke trying to screw me?’

Thankfully, this season there is something new to fill the void in your fantasy football life.

Empire Fantasy Football is a new way to play along with the NFL, in a season long contest like no other.

Billed as the ‘World’s Biggest Season Long Fantasy Football League’, Empire taps into a massive gap in the football betting market.
Too often UK players have lamented about the lack of season long fantasy options, and now we have a solution to smooth that gap.

Here’s the basic intro video to give you an idea of what Empire is:

The Basics

First off, Empire Fantasy Football is a new product, and with that comes a new learning curve.

Empire bills itself as a single format league where you compete against an unlimited amount of players.
This makes the game bigger, and better given that you are taking on the world each week, opening up the global appeal.

Players are given 200 ‘credits’ to start the season, on which they can draft their rosters.
You must have 2 QBs, 3 RBs, 3 WRs, 1TE, and 6 Bench players.
Buying and selling of players occurs throughout the season in The Market, and you can get more credits by wagering on other weekly games.

Winning is a 50/50 chance, with the top half of managers being declared the ‘winners’ each week, and adding to your season record.

Credits for weekly betting can be used in the Market to add or drop players.
Savvy bettors will like the reactive process of being able to use your knowledge of the NFL to win big.

The top player of the season will win $1000 USD, and some pretty big bragging rights.

Gameplay

Obviously we don’t know how the gameplay works yet, as the NFL season hasn’t started.

The layout of Empire Fantasy Football is pretty straight forward, and the positioning map makes it easy to be able to see who you need, and for what role.

A search function would be nice, instead of scrolling through the list trying to find those value picks.
Given that the game is beta, this function should surely be added down the line.

Once your line-up is set, now comes the waiting game, as you follow along to see how your team fared during week 1.
We’re not there yet, so we will be keen to test this out week on week.

It’s always great when a new NFL product arrives on the market for fans.
The simplicity of Empire Fantasy Football makes it an easy addition to any weekly activity for NFL fans.
It’s also great that fans in the UK can compete with other fans from around the world, and a chance to show off our NFL knowledge.

Week 12 DraftKings

November 29, 2020 by nflinlondon

What a broken box of toys this week has been in the NFL! Covid is acting like some sort of ‘virus’ and depleting rosters across the league. Luckily we have our Week 12 DraftKings tips, so we can help you navigate some of the value players across the NFL.
As always, make sure you check the rosters just prior to game time, we often lose a lot of the news living in the UK, so jump on DraftKings and see which players are fully affected.
(I have James Conner and Jonathan Taylor in Fantasy….pluck me!)

The Ravens game has been moved, and the Broncos have been essentially been told ‘screw you’ by the league, as they must troll their roster for potential QBs against the stalwart Saints D. Good luck!

Here are some of the value players I am looking at for week 12 in the NFL. Make sure you join our DraftKings League, links below.

QBs

Daniel Jones $5500

Five weeks ago, I wouldn’t have taken a bet as to whether Daniel Jones was able to take off his helmet by himself, but things change. The Giants are emerging as the least sucky of all the suckiness in that division. Jones is facing the bashed up Bengals, who really have no horse in the race this season after the loss of Burrow. DJ should have plenty of time to connect to Slayton and Engram, and get you at least 2 TDs on the day.

Josh Allen $7600

If the Chargers have one big problem, it’s their secondary. Despite the heroics of Justin Herbert this season, he needs to play catch up on many players to cover the hole his D just opened up. With the Bills coming off a bye week, Allen will be pumped and primed to rip open a very tired Chargers squad. Allen is stacked nicely with Stefon Diggs if you are looking to pump up your points.

RBs

James White $4500

White is one of a few dwindling running backs available to the Patriots this weekend, after Rex Burkhead heads to the injury box. Cam Newton is going to need someone to run the ball and pick up his sloppy options, so that leaves none other than James White. A pretty good deal at $4500 if you’re saving up for a Cooks or Kamara.

Wayne Gallman $5000

Another Giant who could be poised for big points against a sunken Cinci team. Gallman is heir apparent to Saquon this season, and is finally healthy enough to create some options for the New York offence. Another good value for a RB, who you could pair with someone a little more expensive.

WRs

Cooper Kupp $6400

Kupp is fast becoming Goff’s number one target, and has been stellar every week for solid points. The 49ers have lost a lot of their team, so you wonder how much they will really be in this game. The Rams need to keep winning to keep pace, and Kupp will be putting up big points along the way.

Keenan Cole Sr. $3600

Cole is one of the few toys that Mike Glennon will get to play with this Sunday, in a game that no one expects that much from. Jacksonville’s D has kept them in games that they had no business being in, and Glennon is possibly the best throwing QB on the Jags roster. He should have time spreading the ball around and finding Cole for holes in the Browns D.

Devante Parker $5900

It looks like Tua will miss this game, as Fitzmagic returns to the Dolphins spotlight. You wonder what happens if Fitzy lights it up and puts on a big score, would he be the starter again? He will have plenty of time to connect with his fave receiver in Parker, who has the wheels to find any space on the field. They are playing the Jets, so loads of points!

TEs

Mike Gesicki $4300

Same reason as above for Parker. Fitzpatrick loves him some Gesicki, so he will have plenty of time to connect to his best TE. Gesicki has been having a great season thus far, and this game has the potential to be his best yet. The Dolphins will be looking to dump out the Jets and get a hold of second place in the AFC East.

DEF

Giants $3200

Wow! I must be coming down with something, because I chose a lot of Giants in this article. The Giants D has been the only thing that has kept them in games, and has caused massive headaches for teams like Washington. With a week off, it’s easy to see how they will be primed at home. The Bengals have a poor O line, so there should be plenty of time to get some sacks.

Week 10 DraftKings

November 14, 2020 by nflinlondon

It’s time to get your fantasy on, as we look at some of the top players to target in week 10 of the NFL.
Dalvin Cook will not be playing in the first section of games, so you’ll need to find someone else to snag you 40 points on Sunday.
Week 9 was a bit of a punch in the nads, so hopefully we can help you make some money for this week.
Make sure you join our DraftKings League so that you can play along as well.
Here are some of the top picks to look at this week.

QBs

Josh Allen $7500

Allen was a beast last week against the Seahawks, throwing for 4 TDs and taking a commanding lead in the AFC East. The Bills face the Cardinals this week, who have shown that they have plenty of gaps to allow them to be scored on. This should be a big back and forth battle, with Allen finding plenty of options in a weak Arizona secondary.

Jake Luton $5400

Pronounced ‘Loo-tawn’, Jake has possibly the worst jersey you could ever wear in England. For those of you who don’t know, Luton is a dumpy airport north of London and a mediocre city on the commuter belt. It’s like the Flint, Michigan to London’s Detroit.
Luton is the new moustache in town, and looked better than Tua in week 9. If he can connect with some of his talented receivers, he could find some holes in Packers D, which they often give up. Good value if you want to save up for other players.

RBs

Leonard Fournette $5500

The Bucs are coming down from a beating so bad, they still have dried blood in their ears. Brady was brutal, so they will need to get the running game together this week against the Panthers if they hope to establish a lead. Fournette should have a good game against a Carolina D who have been leaking points all season.

James Robinson $6600

One of the few bright lights for the Jags, Robinson has established himself as a marquee running back in a league where that title has faded as of late. As the top dog of their offence, Robinson will be used often against a Packers team who have been victim to big running plays. There’s a good chance he hits 100 yards against Green Bay on Sunday.

WRs

Tee Higgins $4600

With a name that sounds like something a stoner might say, Tee Higgins is quickly becoming a fave of Joe Burrow. With so much talent on the Bengals receiving squad, Higgins often finds himself open and is great for yards after the catch. Yes, he’s playing the Steelers on Sunday, but they will only be able to carry so much.

Danny Amendola $3900

Danny come lately has been slowly working his way up in the Lions squad. This Pats veteran has been solid for Matt Stafford, considering Kenny Golladay is out once again. Detroit can score, and often, which will give the Washington football team problems. He’s great value under $4000, and should factor in some Redzone plays.

Jalen Reagor $4200

The NFC East is slutting it up again this week, passing whatever they have to each other and disgusting the rest of the NFL. It really is a horrible division. The Eagles are back with more injuries, although they should have Miles Sanders back this week to take some pressure off of Wentz. Reagor is adept at hauling in deep balls chucked with abandon by Carson, as well as beasting it in the redzone.

TEs

TJ Hockenson $5200

The Hock has been ok this season, although you would expect more out of him given the state of the Lions. He’s still growing, but should have no problem against a Washington secondary that struggles to cover. A little pricey for a TE, but worth it if you need some solid points.

Darren Waller $5900

Possibly the best and most consistent TE this season, Waller is big play player who is taught to cover. Big, strong and fast, he is vastly becoming Carr’s go-to target this year. The most expensive TE this week, but hey, you deserve it.

DEF

New Orleans $3000

Did you see what the Saints did to TB12 and the Bucs last week? Imagine if they could do that every week? The Saints are facing a depleted 49ers team led by Nick Mullens. With injuries across every part of their team, San Francisco is looking to limp out of this season and into a dark cave. The Saints should help chase them to that cave on Sunday.

Draftkings Week 5

October 9, 2020 by nflinlondon

Week 5 in the NFL is here, and what a sloppy mess of the schedule it is. Covid 19 is running rampant on the games, and we still don’t really know what games have officially been slated for Sunday. Hopefully all of this will be sorted soon.

Week 4 had some big scores and upsets in it, not to mention some HUGE value from some of the top players in DFS. Joe Mixon was a beast, running for 3 TDs and crushing everyone in fantasy who went against him. Dak Prescott was on the ball with 5 TDs, too bad he couldn’t turn it into a win. Odell Beckham and Amari Cooper were also beasts, cruising for loads of yards. The big man of the upset was the Packers TE Robert Tonyan who pulled in 3 TDs and was relatively cheap on Draftkings.
So who do I like in Week 5?

QBs

You’re always going to do ok taking QBs like Dak and Lamar, but it’s also about finding value in some of good DraftKings player combinations, and of course anyone playing the Giants or the Jets.

Kyler Murray $7200

Kyler has been up and down in recent weeks, having moments of brilliance followed by moments of true idiocy. Luckily Kyler is playing the Jets this week, so he will have time to redeem himself. The only thing that could work to his disadvantage is the field at Met Life stadium which at times looks to be in worse condition than the field in Batman-Dark Knight Rises which Bane blows up. Kyler likewise should blow up this field.

Teddy Bridgewater $5900

Teddy has been playing ok football since the loss of Christian McCaffery thanks to his D keeping him in the games. Atlanta is known to allow gaping holes in their secondary, which should give him time to link up with Robbie Anderson on some slant routes through the middle, not to mention the deep ball. Good value at $5900.

RB

Clyde Edwards-Helaire $6800

Clyde the Glide will be taking on a Las Vegas D which has allowed some of the biggest runs of any NFL team. Once the Chiefs get moving, there will be very little the Raiders will be able to do to slow him down. C E-H should be on point for 100 yards and at least 1 TD.

Le’Veon Bell $5100

Le’Veon who? This impact player has been absent this season as Adam Gase runs the Jets down to Tankville. While it’s up in the air if he will play at all, you can imagine that if he is, they will use him as much as possible given that the rest of the team is injured/ sucks. Keep an eye on the injury report on Sunday as you might have to swap him out, but deffo worth a punt.

James Conner $6900

Conner has been having an increasingly big season, as he improves week on week. Playing their state rival Philly should not only inspire him, but given the putrid state of the Eagles defence, he should have a big day. The Eagles will struggle to stop him all day.

WR

Christian Kirk $4700

Kirk & Kyler are facing the Jets on Sunday which means that there will be loads of points to go around. If the Jets try to thwart Hopkins in this match, then Kirk will get lots of looks. He’s a great value for $4700 as he has the wheels to get loads of yards after the catch. He will be a pain in New York’s butt all game.

Robbie Anderson $5900

The Panthers have had a surprisingly successful season without C McC, and the game on Sunday should be a big one as the Falcons struggle in freefall. Anderson has the speed and moves to confuse the Falcons D, so expect him to find some big holes and even bigger scores.

TE

Dalton Schultz $4800

Schultz has been a favourite of Dak since the start of the season. He is one of the go to guys when they try to mount their numerous comebacks. Dak will go to him often, so at $4800 he is a good choice for a solid TE.

Evan Engram $4600

On the other side of the field is Engram, who has been very useful to the Daniel Jones all season when he needs short yardage. This will be a slugfest between two sucky D’s, so either of these guys will do well for you.

DEF

Steelers $3800

The Steel curtain is hosting the Eagles this weekend, and the Watt boys are out for a rumble. Wentz and company are going to be on their back feet all day, so expect Pittsburgh to take him down and pick him off often.

Marvel NFL Fantasy

October 7, 2020 by nflinlondon

First they protect us from Thanos, next the Marvel heroes have started their own AGBO NFL Fantasy League. Is there anything they can’t do? Judging by their line-ups, it’s playing fantasy football.

All of your favourite heroes from Iron Man to Any Man, Thor to Mantis and even Captain America have joined a FanDuel fantasy league to raise money for charity.
It’s nice to see millionaires in this crisis actually doing something to help out instead of just sitting in their golden castles, fielding off sexual assault allegations.

Like any fantasy NFL league, this one brings with it a fair amount of trash talking. One would think that Rocket would be the most apt to deal with ‘trash’, but sadly Bradley Cooper isn’t in this league.
The best at the garbage mouth is none other than the perennially youthful Paul Rudd, who doesn’t strike you as the most ardent NFL fan.

Paul Rudd was due to face Robert Downey Jr in week 4 of the NFL, and unleashed an epic mock video to intimidate Iron Man before the contest.
Rudd made an almost shot by shot video of ‘Iron Man’, in which he skewered the metal man killed by a finger snap in a sweet little roast.
Here it is for your amusement.

Fun Fact

Did you know that Jeremy Renner (aka Hawkeye) is a massive San Francisco 49ers fan? He is such a fan that he even narrates many of their hype videos as well as internal videos for the team. He must have been incredibly happy, then sad as a result of last season.

It seems that both Karen Gillan (Nebula) and Elizabeth Olsen (Red Witch) are not doing well in this years’ pool. If you need any NFL Fantasy advice, please reach out. We know that you are big fans of the show.
