Best of the Preseason

September 1, 2019 by nflinlondon

The NFL preseason is now done and dusted.
What did we learn from it all?
Probably that it’s too long, and that the NFL will need to change that before the XFL launches next summer and takes a big ratings chunk out of them.

Now that the preseason is done, let’s take a look at some of the best plays we have seen from this summer of fun.
TBH-most of these ‘playmakers’ are probably already putting in their CVs at Home Depot or Wendy’s, but at least they still have some tape.

Check out this reel courtesy of the NFL.

AFC West Prediction

September 1, 2019 by nflinlondon

How was the West won?
Not very bloody easily, and this year will be no exception.
Wade McElwain and Ryan Cull are actually torn on this one, which always makes for good betting.

Let’s start with the returning Kansas City Chiefs, who were humbled in the AFC by the Patriots last season.
Is there any way to expect the same won’t happen again this year?
Doubtful.
The Chiefs are fierce, but losing Kareem Hunt and the debacle around Tyreek Hill might make this team a bit unfocused.
Ryan is confident that they will bounce back with full force, but Wade is more sceptical.
The Chiefs have a fear of being successful in the playoffs, and Wade sees that happening again this year.
Also, Patrick Mahomes threw too many no-look passes last year, so it will be hard to see how he keeps that up this year.

The Broncos are the epitome of a dysfunctional family.
Joh Elway struggles every year getting that perfect balance of offence and defence, so how will they put together a string of wins, if they can’t even figure out their QB situation?
Wade & Ryan have them around a 500 team.
Sure, they might spoil a few parties, but the real spoiler will be the stench that comes from their own inner rot.

The Raiders have had some ‘hard knocks’ as of late.
Jon Gruden is determined to make something of this team before they bounce off to Vegas, but will Antonio Brown be a distraction?
Can Derek Carr forge the focus of this team into winning, or will they be more focused on whining?
At any rate, they will be entertaining to watch…even if it’s them imploding.

And the Chargers. Are they in LA? Are they in San Diego? Do they even have any real fans?
Phillip Rivers isn’t getting any younger, and with 37 kids to feed-he is going to be determined to win something this year.
Wade thinks that they have a real chance here to finally face off against the Patriots.
Melvin Gordon is the real conundrum in the mix, and they need to get all eyes facing forward if they want to win it this year.

Luckily, Wade McElwain and Ryan Cull are here to help out with all the info that you need.

They break down not only the top NFL news that has just occurred, but they also look at some of the other top stories to happen as we wind down the preseason.
Will Zeke make it back to the Cowboys?
How will the Colts fare without Andrew Luck?
What will the Texans do for a running back?

Listen, subscribe, share, have inappropriate relations with our audio.
It’s ok-you’re an adult.

AFC North Prediction

September 1, 2019 by nflinlondon

All hail the Cleveland Browns!
For they are here to save us from our misery, deliver us from evil, and atone for their past wrong-doings.
Or, they might just lose.

Browns fans certainly have an air of confidence this season after so many years of bleach-chugging in the bottom of the division.
Yes, they have a lot of tools to make a run for it, but do they have enough to crush the rest of the division?
Nope.
There are just too many X-factors on this team, and then there is the road to the AFC playoffs.
Does anyone think that this Browns team could stop Tom Brady?
No way Jose.

Then there are the Pittsburgh Steelers.
After dropping the dead weight of Antonio Brown, the Steelers actually look like that they might be able to perform solidly under Mike Tomlin this season.
James Connor got his running legs under him last season, and Juju has the room to run all over this division.
Wade McElwain and Ryan Cull both have the Steelers to pip the other teams in this division.

The Ravens are an interesting team in their depth, but their experience might be what bites them on the butt.
Their running game looks tight, but will Lamar Jackson be too predictable in his runs.
Joe Flacco wasn’t a runner, but he sure was able to move the ball down the field.
Going to be tough this year in this division, but they should still hit around the 500 mark.

The Cincinnati Bengals are just a mess. With AJ Green injured (again) one wonders how the ginger-ninja Andy Dalton is going to string together wins.
The defence was hobbled last season, & with Vontaze Burfect off to the Raiders, will they have any punch on their D line.

Wade and Ryan agree on this one as well.
All hail the Steelers-champions of the AFC North!
