AFC North Prediction

September 1, 2019 by nflinlondon

All hail the Cleveland Browns!
For they are here to save us from our misery, deliver us from evil, and atone for their past wrong-doings.
Or, they might just lose.

Browns fans certainly have an air of confidence this season after so many years of bleach-chugging in the bottom of the division.
Yes, they have a lot of tools to make a run for it, but do they have enough to crush the rest of the division?
Nope.
There are just too many X-factors on this team, and then there is the road to the AFC playoffs.
Does anyone think that this Browns team could stop Tom Brady?
No way Jose.

Then there are the Pittsburgh Steelers.
After dropping the dead weight of Antonio Brown, the Steelers actually look like that they might be able to perform solidly under Mike Tomlin this season.
James Connor got his running legs under him last season, and Juju has the room to run all over this division.
Wade McElwain and Ryan Cull both have the Steelers to pip the other teams in this division.

The Ravens are an interesting team in their depth, but their experience might be what bites them on the butt.
Their running game looks tight, but will Lamar Jackson be too predictable in his runs.
Joe Flacco wasn’t a runner, but he sure was able to move the ball down the field.
Going to be tough this year in this division, but they should still hit around the 500 mark.

The Cincinnati Bengals are just a mess. With AJ Green injured (again) one wonders how the ginger-ninja Andy Dalton is going to string together wins.
The defence was hobbled last season, & with Vontaze Burfect off to the Raiders, will they have any punch on their D line.

Wade and Ryan agree on this one as well.
All hail the Steelers-champions of the AFC North!

NFC East Prediction

September 1, 2019 by nflinlondon

The NFC East has been a bit of a dumpster fire in the past decade, so what’s to say it’s going to get any better?
Can anyone emerge from here that is able to fight off those plucky AFC teams?
There can be only one…and their name is the Philadelphia Eagles.

Wade McElwain and Ryan Cull look at this tight division to see who might pop from the ashes to take on the NFC contenders.
The Eagles have the best all around team, and with the addition of WR DeSean Jackson, they might have all the tools to go all the way. Will their QB finally rise to the challenge now that the distraction of Big Dick Nick is gone?
Probably.
The healthiness of Carson Went will always be factor, but the running game might also be something to examine.
At the end of it, the Eagles have more tools to go further in this division.

The Giants are a mess. Internally, externally-just a mess.
Yes, Saquon Barkley will be a beast in fantasy, but other than that-it will be watching Eli Manning implode as quickly as the fans do.
They might upset a few games, but mostly themselves.

The Dallas Cowboys are like 3 kids fighting in the back seat while dad ignores them and threatens to smash their toys when they get home.
Everyone wants to get ‘paid’, but do they deserve it and are they worth it in a tight fisted league?
Zeke looks like he is doubtful to suit up soon, and Amari Cooper is probably teetering too.

The Washington Redskins are just atrocious. If there was any time to succumb t the fans and change your name, it’s now.
Dwayne Haskins looks like the kid from ‘Get Out’ stepping into that mental minefield.
Redskins fans will just have to wait and see…and wait and see.

Eagles take the division-Ryan sees them going places.
Wade sees them getting knocked out by the Bears.
Sweet justice.

AFC East Prediction

September 1, 2019 by nflinlondon

Can we really choose anyone else in this division other than the New England Patriots?
How did they get even stronger this year when Tom Brady is at least 109 years old!
Wade & Ryan both take a stab at how they think this division will end up, and it’s pretty predictable.
UNLESS Tom Brady is somehow mangled on the field this season, the Patriots should comfortably cruise on through unscathed to the post-season.
Wade sees the Patriots going all the way to the big game, while Ryan thinks that they will have some problems in the AFC battle in January.

Buffalo present an interesting dilemma, as they have a huge talent of running backs to choose from, as well as a plucky running QB in Josh Allen.
Will their defense be able to stifle the opposition again this year? Have they strengthened their line by shovelling snow in the offseason?
Buffalo could well be a 500 team again this year, causing problems and turmoil to all teams in this division.

The New York Jets are interesting as you have a team whose coach has essentially run rough-shot over the whole team. He is not a huge fan of Le’veon Bell, so it will be interesting to see how they respond to him.
Will their QB-Sam Darnold continue to impress with his play, or will he switch back to erratic?
There is a ton of pressure on the Jets to succeed this year, sadly it doesn’t see like Wade or Ryan think that will happen.

Lastly the lowly Dolphins of Miami, where the hurricanes seem to intensify every year.
The fact that Ryan Fitzpatrick was able to secure the starting job says a lot about how this team will progress.
Miami traditionally starts off modestly ok, then quickly turns as Florida can turn into ‘Florida Man’…
(Have you tried Googling that followed by your birthday?)

Suffice to say, this is another Patriots year.
Even without Gronk.

Bad NFL Tattoo

August 30, 2019 by nflinlondon

When it comes to getting an NFL tattoo, most people make a bad decision.

Whether it’s ‘calling’ your team to win it all this year, or some smudgy homage to an ancient star that fades as much as it sags-they’re all bad. This guy decided that he needed both Tom & Bill on his calves and look at that-this guy is going to be single forever! Imagine this dude in 8 years, when both those guys are dead.

Hey, look at these old, faded men on my leg. Know who they are? – Nope!
