Super Sim

February 2, 2021 by nflinlondon

If there has been any year that has felt like we’ve been living in a simulator, it has to have been 2020. With Super Bowl 55 peaking up around the corner, we went to the experts to deliver us a Super Sim of the game.

Conspiracy theorists are quick to point out all of the variables in play that lead them to believe that this is all some sort of cruel prank played on humanity by some vicious deity, or that our planet is somehow in a shoebox of some celestial toddler who looks at us from time to time.

Given what’s happened in the league and in the world at large, it’s not hard to see how.
Tom Brady runs another team in a different division to the big show, Aaron loses in the big show, Bill Belichick is pixelating, and AB is behaving. What is up with this world?

One thing that simulations are good for is Madden. Although rarely close to correct, running Madden simulations is a fun way to see how the game might play out if a computer ran the numbers for a few times. There are actually geeks out there who will run this game through numerous AI machines for a more correct prediction. These are the people who usually whoop you at DraftKings.

For this video we tap into Bobby V Gaming who has run his Madden to predict the big game on Sunday. These two teams did play on Week 12, when the Chiefs edged the Bucs 27-24, but how will it go down this time?

Final Score in the Simulation:
Chiefs 21 Bucs 16

We will be throwing down loads of Super Bowl predictions and fun throughout the whole week, so watch this space for more.

SuperBowl Preview Podcast

January 30, 2020 by nflinlondon

SuperBowl 54 is finally here, & what an epic match-up. NFL fans can all unite that the 2 teams that made it thus far are truly deserving, and will provide one heck of a match-up.

Wade McElwain is joined by Chapman Maddox, a Falcons fan and expat who is a big supporter of all things NFL & UK.
They chat about the game, the potential, and some prop bets you might want to take a look at.

Who do you have to win this one? It’s a tight contest. The Chiefs are favoured by -1 & in some cases as high as -5, but can they justify this line? They have come from behind from their past games, while the Niners have barely thrown the ball because they don’t have to.
Are we overlooking San Fran.

Wade says yes, Chapman says no.

In this podcast the guys discuss.

QBs

Who is better between Mahomes & Jimmy G? Mahomes, obviously. Jimmy hasn’t been pressured into throwing yet, so this could be the game where he lights it up MVP style. What if he went off. Mahomes is favoured for MVP, but if the 49ers shut him down it might be a slow night.

RBs

San Fran has a triple headed monster of running backs, while the Chiefs have forgettable backs since Hunt. Sure they can score, but it’s off the legs & brains of Mahomes. The 49ers have the best shut down front in the game. 49ers at will.

TEs

Kelce vs Kittle. It’s the battle of the K’s and TE’s as these two will look to rip open the helps secondary with size & speed. Kelce is solid, but Kittle is a mystery. He hasn’t been used as of late, because he wasn’t needed. Look for Kittle to score first on a sneaky play.

D

San Fran has the edge D wise, but the Chiefs have made great strides to turn it up as of late. The 49ers will be too tight here, and their secondary gives them the edge across the board. Sherman is a pick machine, and he could have more than one if the game gets long.

Listen to the podcast, subscribe, share, name your child after it.

We will have more content up throughout the week.

Join us Sunday at the Long Acre for SuperBowl Sunday. See you then.

Chapman’s Super Bowl

September 8, 2019 by nflinlondon

Chapman Maddox is a Falcons fan.
Please don’t hold that against him.
That being said, Chapman has made his Super Bowl picks for this season, and he is going for the Texans vs the Seahawks.
A big fan of the ‘D’, Chapman reckons that the Seahawks and Russell Wilson will prevail this season, dominating the Texans in a close affair.
Who do you have?

Ryan’s Super Bowl

September 7, 2019 by nflinlondon

It’s that time of the year when every jackass with a football yob makes their blind predictions for the NFL season.
Luckily, we have own blind, yob, and his name is Ryan Cull.

Ryan is an ardent Bills fan, so choosing this must be hard for him.
An all Pennsylvania game, with the Eagles topping the Steelers.

What are the odds on this?
Good question.

Peyton’s Comeback

August 22, 2019 by nflinlondon

This is why Peyton Manning was such a beast.

The year is 2003 and the Colts find themselves down 21 its to the heavily favoured Tampa Bay Bucs.
The Bucs, under Gruden had won the Super Bowl the previous year-but Peyton still had work to do.

Watch as he is able to come back with 3 minutes left and torch the hapless team by the bay.

The Colts would go on to beat the Bears in the Super Bowl that year.
