Free Agents Podcast

February 18, 2021 by nflinlondon

The 2020 NFL season is now done and dusted, leaving us nothing to do but twiddle our thumbs for the next 6 months. Thankfully, we have recorded a podcast about all the NFL Free Agents up for grabs to keep you occupied for an hour or so (if you listen twice).

Wade McElwain and Ryan Cull are still going through NFL withdrawal, both of whom are quite shaky in this episode as they get ‘the good stuff’ out of their veins.
Bears fan Wade worries about a future that might include Carson Wentz, whereas Bills fan Ryan is Jonesing for a hit of JJ Watt to make the Bills extra special.

Among some of the other players they look at in this episode includes:

Dak Prescott

Who wants to swallow a big load of Dak? That’s what the Cowboys are facing if they want to franchise tag Prescott for another season. After taking that horrible injury in the 2020 season, Dallas fans will be wondering if it’s worth it.
Despite the drama, Dak is a heck of a QB-tossing up some amazing yardage in a losing Cowboys effort.
The boys both think he will be back with ‘Dem Boyz this season again.

Allen Robinson II

Oh Bears, what are you going to do? A typical Chicago move would be to piss him off so much he never wants to come back, but there is a chance Robinson will return if the Bears can offer a solid QB option. Trubisky and Foles are not the answer, but Robinson is-so the Bears will need to move the world to get him the ball chucker that he needs.
If Chicago doesn’t franchise him, Miami will grab him.

Will Fuller IV

Another wide receiver, except this one misses at least half the games each season. When he’s good, he’s very good. When he’s injured, he’s often injured-so it will be a leap of faith whoever wants to go Full Fuller.  With plenty of option out there, Fuller might need to resign himself to a WR2 or 3 role.
Texans have shot themselves in all of their feet, so it’s likely that they will move on from him and let him roam the open pastures.
Most likely playing options-Packers; 49ers; Giants.

Shaq Barrett

Shaq attack was what led to a wonderful performance by the Bucs in SuperBowl 55. The problem with winning a SuperBowl is trying to keep all the talent who are being wooed by other teams. Those teams don’t have TB12 though and every player and their brother is willing to take less to play with Brady.
Shaq won’t take less, but you can imagine every Tampa bean counter shifting the sands to make sure Shaq is back for next season. His ass ain’t going nowhere.

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Which team hasn’t had any Fitzmagic at this point? Although Miami has said that they want to hang on to Ryan and his big brain for the 2021 season, it’s likely the little hobo will move on down the road.
Loads of teams could use the services of Fitz, especially if it looks like that they might lose out on the QB Fiesta that is looming for the draft and free agency.
Wade thinks that he will end up starting for the Patriots, and Ryan tends to agree.

There are loads of other players discussed in this podcast, including: Kenny Golladay, Justin Simmons, Hunter Henry, Richard Sherman, Jameis Winston, Antonio Brown and Andy Dalton.
Have a listen and a giggle to the whole podcast to fins out more.

TNF-Prediction

September 24, 2020 by nflinlondon

Google ‘Florida Fight’ and see what kind of results come back, in many cases it will feature a man in a moustache versus a man in a beard. Or a meth head twerking in the streets before she tries to tackle an Uber Eats driver.
This Thursday Night match-up will not be as entertaining as any of those videos.

Thursday night NFL is always difficult to watch in the UK as the games don’t start until 1:30, and finish at 5am. Unless you are actually on meth, it is difficult to stay up that late unless they’re your team and it’s a must see game. This is not.

Florida is always a tough place to play in during September & October. This is when hurricane season is starting to wind down, so the whole place is wetter than the front row of a Justin Bieber concert. This was evident in week 2 when the Bills struggled to move the chains in the moist.
The Thursday night game has a weather prediction of 83% humidity, something we never really get in the UK.

All eyes are on the facial hair in this one, as it is being hyped as the moustache vs the beard, for lack of a better rivalry.
Minshew has been playing some tough football as of late. Sure, his defence was decimated last year, and most of his top talent has been traded away, still Gardner keeps moving the ball.
Fitzmagic has been playing great football as well in the first two games. Yes he’s old, and yes he will regress as the season goes on, but this is classic football for him.
While both of these teams were in the running for ‘Tanking for Trevor’, it seems that both are focused on winning this season, which is nice.

Neither team really holds a strong advantage here, as they are both pretty weak across the board.
Jacksonville’s D played extremely well against the Titans, so it will be tough for the Dolphins to run in this one, as they were very tough on Henry. Fitz’s only hope is to air it out to whoever is left in hopes that can find soft spots in the secondary.

Miami will need to put pressure on Minshew, which they were able to do last week against the Bills. Fortunately last week the Bills were hit by defensive injuries, allowing them a bit more time to spread the ball. Fitz will also need to light up the field to get a good lead, as the Jags have been staying in the past two games.

I don’t really see this happening, as the Jags are feeling pretty good despite the player liquidation sale they held before the season began. There will be home fans at this one, which should provide the punch that they need.
Miami could be feeling let down after letting the Bills get away last week, so this might not be fully motivated in the battle of the swamp.

I like Minshew and the Jags to win again, covering the 3 point spread. I like the under here, as the Florida weather will make it sticky, and anyone who is out of shape will struggle.
Luckily they are both Florida teams, so they should be use to it.

Prediction: Jaguars 24 Dolphins 20

Dolphin’d

December 30, 2019 by nflinlondon

Hahahahahahhahahaha!
Ok, got that out of the way.

The New England Patriots looked absolutely anemic in their beating by the Dolphins on Sunday night, and raises some big, furry eyebrows as to how their going to progress in the playoffs.

They just needed to win, and they were through to home field advantage in the playoffs.
How hard could it be to beat the Dolphins?
Ryan Fitzpatrick and is his beard?

The Dolphins played off their heads, challenging the Pats at home and making the New England defense look befuddled.
Fitzmagic sprinkled his dust all over the field, hitting targets at will and moving the ball with ease.

The Patriots were expected to be on return form after their handling of the Bills last week, so what happened here?

It’s hard to say really, as Tom Brady actually looked human.
When was the last time you saw TB12 throw a pick six?
Well, he did.

Instead of having a week off, the Patriots have to face off against the Titans next week in a chilly grudge match.
The Titans were able to dismantle the Texans with ease on Sunday.
This was the Texans team who beat the Patriots a few weeks ago, so it doesn’t look good for the Pats heading into a match-up with Henry and Tannehill.

‘Do your job’.
Obviously that wasn’t done.

Tank Bowl

October 8, 2019 by nflinlondon

The worst teams in the NFL?
Sure.
And they get to face each other this Sunday in a game that will most likely smell like stale feet.

That’s right folks, it’s the Washington Redskins heading to the home of the ‘fins, to face the Miami Dolphins.
We won’t need to remind you that both of these teams have donuts where wins should be.

The forecast in Miami this weekend calls for an empty stadium, overpriced beer, and Florida really wishing that they had legal marijuana.
Because this game is going to skunk it up.

Who wins?
No one.
Especially if you watch the whole thing.
Maybe we can get Adrian Peterson to beat us with a switch instead?

Week 4 Preview

September 28, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 4 is here already, where did the NFL season go?
Wade and Ryan take a look at all of the NFL games in week 4, prior to the Bears vs Raiders heading to London next weekend.

They look at the huge match-up between the Bills and Patriots, chat about the fall of the Green Bay Packers and look ahead to the Bears vs Vikings on Sunday night.

Some of the other matches that they look at include:

Panthers (1-2) vs Texans (2-1) (-4) +47.5
Hats off to Cam Newton, he won’t be playing in this game-he will be hat shopping. Wade & Ryan both think that the home based Texans are poised for victory in this match. Kyle Allen will be welcomed to the NFL in official style.

Redskins (0-3) vs Giants (1-2) (-3) +49.5
Oh poor Washington! When will Dwayne Haskins replace the sad sack Case Keenum before the spiral turns to burn. Ryan thinks that the Giants will rule the roost with Daniel Jones channeling the devil for a win. Wade has the Redskins taking the first ‘W’ of the season.

Chiefs (3-0) (-6.5) vs Lions (2-0-1) +55
Are you ready for a high scoring game? Then get ready for the Chiefs vs Lions in a bust up of fantasy and regular points. Can anyone stop Patrick Mahomes? Doubtful. But Matt Stafford should clock up some big points in the chase.

Join us this Sunday at Belushi’s Hammersmith so that you can watch all the games with loads of new mates.
See you Sunday!
