Cry Me a Phillip Rivers

January 2, 2020 by nflinlondon

‘How you doin’ PR?’
That’s right, Phillip Rivers is now a single, swinging man and everybody wants a piece!
Just to clarify, he is happily married-but without a team.
So where could he end up next year?
Loads of teams might be looking to snag this handsome QB, and get them to lead their team, but is he worth it?

The Pros
-He’s an 8 time Pro Bowl nominee
-He had a PR of 105.5 average in 2018
-He was a first round draft pick in 2004
-His career PR of 96.0 is 8th best

The Cons
-He’s 38 years old
-He’s played for 17 seasons
-He has never won a SuperBowl
-He deteriorated hugely in 2019
-He might have had all of his motivation sapped.

So who would want, and who would need a player like Rivers? Here are a few teams that might want to give him a look see.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts ran outta Luck in 2019, or he ran out of them-causing a huge sinkhole in their future. Jacoby Brissett played well in his absence, but is he the guy you want to structure a team around?
With a crowded floor of losers looking for a QB in the NFL Draft 2020, it might be a leap to expect that they can get anyone good. The Colts have enough weapons leftover from this year, including an underused TY Hilton who would thrive under Rivers. The O Line played fantastically, so he would have time-something that the Chargers couldn’t give him.
More importantly, he would have home fans.
Haven’t had those in a while.

Carolina Panthers

Are we looking at a wham-bam-thank you Cam dynasty in Carolina? With a woeful season in 2019, the Panthers cleaned house in many ways and are looking for someone who can carry the team forward. Sure, Christian McCaffrey carried the team on his back, but image if he ever got hurt? They would be screwed royally.
Rivers was born in Alabama, so it might make sense to return closer to home in an NFC team.
He could be a good fit with the team, and is a born leader that could motivate the team in tough situations.

Chicago Bears

Yes, the Bears have Mitch Trubisky. But Chicago is seeing some of the worst gun violence in recent decades. If random people are getting shot so frequently, imagine what a target someone like Trubisky makes? Rivers wouldn’t be anybody’s back-up, and this is just conjecture-but what an addition he would make for this team! Bears fans are fuming after their D was essentially let down by a lacklustre offence this season, so it would serve them well to get a winner in the pocket just in case.

Denver Broncos

You filthy slut! Going to a division rival? Dirty girl. While PR would be a great alternative to the trash bags that Elway continues to chuck on the field, there is NO WAY that they would trade him to a division rival. It would be an interesting fit though. The Broncos have an emerging running game, and if they drafted a bulked up O Line, he could have time to torch the opposition with ease. No way that Chargers would do this, but it would be an interesting trade to see through. Maybe try it on Madden and see how it goes?

Washington Redskins

Dwayne Haskins is fun to watch. That doesn’t mean he is necessarily good, just fun to watch.
The Redskins played plucky football this season, and they weren’t totally out of every game, even though they were on the ass end of a losing season. They will draft well next year, and just need that missing element to get them up the division. Heck, 4 more wins this season and they could have won the sucker, so it won’t take much to usurp the top dawgs in this filthy pound.

San Angeles Los Chargers

Who are they and where do they play again? Since the team left the sunny fields of San Diego, the ship has sunk faster than the Titanic. Loyal fans were pissed the team was moved, and they took it out by not going to the games. LA fans already had the Raiders and Rams, so why would you want a golden haired stepchild to add to the mix? The Chargers could offer PR another 2 year contract to keep him in til he’s 40. But is he really motivated? Sure, he has 17 kids in school in the area, so he may not want to move. But maybe a mid-life crisis is necessary?

Make sure you join our BetRegal offer, so that you can bet your way to victory this weekend.

See you this weekend at the Long Acre Bar in Covent Garden, where we will be watching the games all weekend.

Naughty Phillip

December 11, 2019 by nflinlondon

Did you know that Phillip Rivers is a naughty, naughty potty mouth?
It’s true.

When most people think of Phillip Rivers they think about a guy who has never won it all.
A guy who stuck it out in a town that was tired of the NFL, and hence he had to pack it up to another city where they were even less enthusiastic about football.
Also most people make fun of the fact he has 58 kids, all named with the acronym P.R.

What most people don’t know is that Phillip Rivers is a trash-talking, rib tickling, NFL fanny-fart.
When you watch the clip, what really strikes is that Rivers don’t give AF.
It’s like he represses all of his anger throughout the week, just to be able to save up for Sunday.
(you better not curse on the Lord’s day mister!)

What will happen to Rivers next year?
Will he tough it out in the wilds of LA, or will he seek greener pastures for his team and family.
It also brings up the question of how many more years he might have in the NFL.
Would anyone be willing to take a chance on him in 2020 knowing the old dog only has a few tricks left?
Given the crop of injuries and QB failures in the league…anything is possible!

Week 13 Picks

December 1, 2019 by nflinlondon

Wade-W13-picks

It’s Week 13, and things are heating up post Thanksgiving turkey games!
Who do have in this week’s games?
There are a lot of crapola games, and some key matches that have Super Bowl implications.
Obviously the 49ers vs Ravens will be the big game of the week, and the Patriots vs Texans is the key AFC game.
But how can you make money this week off the NFL?
By taking my picks, that’s how silly!

Weather. One of the big things to watch this week are any games that are played on the East coast that are outside. There is a nasty ThanksG storm rolling across the shoreline, and with flights being cancelled-expect that this also applies to footballs that are thrown. Expect snow, heavy winds, and frigid turf. Running will be the way to go, but ball control will be even more important.
On Sunday’s like this, GO FOR THE UNDER!
Choose the Under on any games on the east coast this week with these ket home teams: NY Giants; Ravens; Steelers. The Bengals, Panthers & Dolphins could also see some gusts and cold conditions.

Here are some of the key games I think are good for parlays to punch your ticket to some NFL wins. I’m still hitting a wicked 66% of picks correct against the spread heading into these games, putting me ahead of most Vegas sports book makers and pundits. You can check all my scores each week with our picks and by listening to our podcasts.

Take these bets to BetRegal, and also look at our DraftKings League.

-2.5 Bucs (4-7) vs Jags (4-7)

The line on this game has changed a few times. I snagged it on a early ticket at -1 Jags, which was a steal. The Bucs are now 2.5 pt faves and rightly so. So long as Jameis can shuttle the ball without dropping it, TB should be able to bust the ball deep into the cats end. The Jags have seen their D drop in talent dramatically, and are a shell of their former selves. Nick Foles better do something at home, or he will soon be looking for another job. Bucs should easily be able to handle their Florida brother cousin lovers.
Bucs WIN

Titans (6-5) vs -1 Colts (6-5)

The line on this one was originally 2.5 for the Colts, but has changed due to injuries and the heat of the Titans. Yes, they have won a few straight and Tannehill is pumping it like a champ, but this is a divisional bugaboo. The Colts have owned the Titans at home, and this should continue Sunday. Brissett and the boyz need to get that ball moving fast and deep into the Titans secondary. The have the defense to limit Henry, & if they put the pressure on Tannehill the Titans will make mistakes.
Colts WIN

-2 Browns(5-6)  vs Steelers (6-5)

The helmet game is back again! Tensions will be simmering after massive mantras for calm in this divisional slugfest. The Browns are beaming after the win a few weeks ago, while Mason Rudolph will be a mere witness in this contest. It’s the Steelers at home, so they should be more focused and driven to deliver with Duck at the helm. The Steelers are gutted by injuries so they will have to see what they can bandage in this one. I like them to chase Baker and for them to make mistakes. The weather is going to be horrible, so home field is a good bet.
Steelers WIN

The weather is going to make betting tough this week, so it’s a good week for home teams and favourites.

Good luck this week!

Week 11 Scores

November 21, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 11 in the NFL is done and dusted.
So what did we learn?

Well, Wade & Ryan didn’t do as well with their picks as they thought.
Wade pulled off a 9-4 and Ryan rolled down with a 7-6.
Not bad for a tough week.

So what are some of the things we learned in Week 11?

It’s Almost Over?

Remember that barren feeling of mid-February? Well, that’s coming back. Although there will be some XFL to numb the pain of the season.
This season has flown by already, and as we hit the the run-up to the playoffs, everything is on the table.
Every game counts. Even ones against the Bengals

Oh Myles

Myles Garrett is a bad, bad man. Doesn’t matter what Mason Rudolph did, he’s the QB and you don’t try to smash his puny head in. Garrett will attempt to appeal, but he’s going to need to STFU and start doing LOTS of charity work.
He has a lot to atone for, and he will need to make the best out of being  a bad man.

LJ

Lamar Jackson is ripping through the NFL. After decimating the Patriots, LJ went out and made Deshaun Watson look like a punk. Their team came together in a grand ole affair, running all over Bill O’Brien and his inconsistent team. Watson was chased and hassled all game.
Everyone is going to need a Lamar Jackson plan, because he is coming for you all.

BearDown

The Bears continue to struggle, pissing off loyal fans everywhere. How do we fix the rot?
Why is the person who made the decision to go for Trubisky not being strung up and quartered somewhere?
Their O-line stinks, and they haven’t been able to stop the run since Hicks went down with injury.
Trubisky was benched for health reasons against the Rams, and it’s going to be a hard season to watch them finish out.
Plus every kicker seems to be cursed.
Is there some sort of ‘Wide Right’ spell that is cast on them as soon as they enter Soldier Field?

Screw Arizona

The Cardinals vs 49ers game was extremely frustrating for anyone who had a bet on the game.
When they recovered the ball on the last play of the game to put the game to an even 10 point spread infuriated fans who had money on the game everywhere.
You kidding me Arizona.
Luckily, I chose a bookmaker who had the spread at 11 points, so I was able to save something.
Hate games like that.

Viking Chokers

What a tough game for the Vikings, and even tougher for the Broncos.
They had the Vikes bent over a barrel, squealing like a pig.
And then they loosened the grip, allowing the Vikings to make a Super Bowl like comeback.
Good for the hometown crowd, but exhausting for the Broncos who choked so hard, they should have asked for a ‘safe word’.

Raiders

The Raiders have been playing well and keeping themselves in most games.
Josh Jacobs has been ripping it up, and given how pathetic their division is, it’s hard not to see them making a playoff push.
Jon Gruden has to be happy with himself this season, turning the drama of the draft and the AB situation into an after thought.
Good focused football, and a healthy team with a solid O line.
Could they disrupt the season and make a big impact?

Make sure you join our DraftKings League.
You can win big every week!

Week 10 Review

November 13, 2019 by nflinlondon

Week 10 is done and dusted, and we have learned a lot from the games & upsets that shook our hearts in the NFL.
The Saints took a mushroom stamp to the cheek, the Bills tossed salad on their winning ways, and the Bears struggled to find ways to move the ball.
Which teams look solid going forward?

Wade & Ryan break down all of the games, as well as live stream this podcast on Facebook.

They go over some of the big games and surmise what went wrong, what went right, and how it will determine their forward fate.
Some of the games they discuss include:

Chiefs vs Titans

Ouch. Ryan Tannehill made you look stupid, and that hardly ever happens. Mahomes reverted to his Kermit self and was a total Muppet in this game, as the Titans D clamped down. Henry looked phenomenal for a guy you would normally keep on your fantasy bench.
What will the Chiefs do going forward?

Bills vs Browns

The Browns needed a win, and got it-but did it in a ramrod fashion. How many times do you need to be inside the 10…and still not score? The Bills looked like they were calling it in, already planning their Sunday night wing plans.
The Browns won, but are still hopeless.
Coaching does matter huh?

Falcons vs Saints

Matty Ice is on fire! Too bad the Saints looked like they were soaked in accelerants. The Saints had room to lose, but not by this bad and this much. They actually made the Falcons look good, which is a bad thing to do.
Brees and Payton need to get this offence humming again and score at will.
If they don’t learn from this game, it’s trouble.

Ravens vs Bengals

Watching the Bengals, is like watching a documentary on killing tigers, then harvesting their organs as entrees at Chinese weddings. It is sad, and you wonder what actual real good comes out of it.
The Ravens and LJ were riding high after smacking the school bully the previous week.
That bully will be back though, and daddy has some plans.

Lions vs Bears

The Lions were down the incredible Matt Stafford, and still managed to make a game out of it. Depleted and broken, they were close to stabbing the Bears in the eye. Mitch Trubisky looked like his usual self in the first half, then came alive in the second half to shred some points.
He still is Mitch though, and committing to him going forward is an issue.
