Week 16 Preview

December 23, 2020 by nflinlondon

The NFL regular season is winding down while Santas’s sleigh approaches, as Wade & Ryan open their final advent window before Christmas in this Week 16 Preview podcast.

Week 15 brought with it some crazy upsets (looking at you Steelers & Jets), and it with changed the landscape of the NFL playoffs. Imagine if Pittsburgh loses all their remaining games and fails to make the finals? How 2020!

Week 16 has some great games over Christmas and Boxing Day, so make sure that you get your fantasy lineup set if you are fortunate to be in your playoffs. This is the finals for many leagues so good luck!

The guys make their score predictions for ALL of the games this week, so make sure that you listen to the whole thing to gleam all of the useless knowledge the boys have compiled over the season. Among some of the games the guys preview this week includes:

Vikings (6-8) vs Saints (10-4)
Saints -7  +52

Minnesota is almost out of the playoffs, and after a bad beat by the Bears last week, it’s hard to see how they can manage it. Their D is a shambles, and there is only so much weight you can shift to Dalvin Cook to carry the whole team.  Jefferson and Thielan are always a threat, if Cousins can find enough time in the pocket, which is rare under the heft of a strong D like New Orleans.
The Saints took a tough hit from the Chiefs last week, so they should be motivated to want to oust a division rival particularly the nasty Vikings.
It’s no secret that the Saints fans will be hating on the refs on Christmas Day, hoping that Santa will save them from previous naughty moves by the zebras in past years to rob them of playoff glory.
Wade & Ryan both think that the Saints will win, but that it might be closer than the Saints like.
Ryan- Saints 30 Vikings 24
Wade- Saints 27 Vikings 23

Dolphins (9-5) vs Raiders (7-7)
Dolphins -2.5  +47.5

Miami looks like they are on the way to the playoffs if they can win these next two games. It will be easier to beat the Raiders than it will the Bills. Tua and the guys had a nice win over the Patriots last week, albeit low scoring and not that exciting.
Where the Dolphins shine is on defence, so look for them to try to thwart the legs of Marcus Mariota at every angle.
Las Vegas is about to call it a season. It is highly unlikely that they will finish with a winning record, and effectively have to retire to the strip to find some action. They also won’t be that motivated to win, as they haven’t been playing with any vigour this season when needed.
Wade sees the Dolphins rolling through while Ryan has hopes for Las Vegas to roll the dice for a win.
Ryan- Raiders 24 Dolphins 20
Wade- Dolphins 28 Raiders 18

Colts (10-4) vs Steelers (11-3)
Steelers -2  +45.5

The Colts and Phillip Rivers continue to roll on thanks to the play of their O line and solid D. Rookie running back Taylor has been very useful, and should see plenty of field against the Steelers.
Indianapolis has been very weak in their 4 losses, and they have the look of a team that could be out in one game should they make it to the playoffs. This game will see how adaptable they are, and how much they prepared for this big game.
Three losses for Pittsburgh, logo dancing, Tik Toks, and the new car smell is gone. Pittsburgh not only lost 3 games in a row, but they lost them epically to bad teams. They could be the first 11-0 team that fails to make the playoffs if they lose all of their next games, so the pressure is on.
Wade & Ryan both like the Colts here, as the Steelers are still in a haze of focus.
Ryan- Colts 21 Steelers17
Wade- Colts 28 Steelers 26

That’s it for this Week 16 Preview podcast, thanks for listening and pushing it up the charts. Listen to the whole thing to get all of the score predictions & game insight. Continue to share, laugh and love, as we have a hoot of a time making it for you.

Sky Week 10

November 11, 2020 by nflinlondon

Well that was a bit of a sucky week 9 wasn’t it? From upsets, to blow-outs, from injuries, to way more injuries. The 2020 season sure knows how to build excitement!

That excitement continues in week 10, as Sky has released their TV schedule for all of those in Britain who watch the games on telly.
An FYI for those who don’t know, but these games will be blacked out on UK Gamepass, but can be accessible if your Gamepass isn’t set to the UK.
Here are all the games that they are showing this week.

TNF

Colts vs Titans
1:20am GMT (Friday)

‘Turgid Night Football’ is usually what happens in the wee hours for us Brits, waking up to see we missed an actual turd of a game. Luckily this week brings us an AFC bonanza, as two top teams crash it out early Friday morning.
The Colts lost a massive game to the Ravens last week after a late game collapse, while the Titans irked one against the lowly Bears.
This should be a great game, even if you only watch it the next day.

SUNDAY

Bucs vs Panthers
6:00 GMT

It’s TB12 vs TBw, as Tom Brady looks to avenge his savage beating at the hands of the Saints in Week 9. Teddy B will be looking to lead his Panthers in a divisional upset of the Bucs and Antonio Brown.
Tom Brady will be angry in this one, as it is always cute to see his angry face.
This game will either be close, or a nasty blow out.

Bills vs Cardinals
9:25 GMT

Once again the Bills are on Sky, pissing off thousands of Buffalo fans who can’t watch their team if they don’t have Sky. Please don’t contact us about this, we have nothing to do with the scheduling at Sky.
Both of these teams played in Week 9 on Sky, which is lazy programming to bring them back the next week.
This isn’t even the best 9pm game, so not sure why Sky continues to anger fans.

Ravens vs Patriots
1:20am GMT (Monday)

This game would have been great a year ago, but Tommy is gone, and Cam is a shell of his former self. The Ravens need to keep winning to stay on pace with Pittsburgh, while the Patriots need to win to avoid being traded to a rub and tug by Robert Kraft.
Not to many people will stay up for this one, but who knows with lockdown.
This game is also available on Gamepass.

MNF

Vikings vs Bears
1:20am GMT (Tuesday)

If you hate Tuesdays, then stay up late and watch this nugget of an NFC North matchup. The Bears have been in a Foles-free-fall as of late, while the Vikings can only rely on Dalvin Cook to score.
The Bears should have a chance if they can take advantage of the paltry secondary that Minnesota plays. Not worth staying up for, but good to watch when you’re making the kids breakfast the next day.

Week 9 Podcast

November 7, 2020 by nflinlondon

Ryan recently found two bags of used dildos in the chimney of his new house, which is a sign of good luck for a Buffalo Bills fan. That’s just some of the philosophy & fun you’ll learn in our week 9 podcast. Wade McElwain & Ryan Cull break down all of the big games ahead on the slate, plus take a look at the week that was in week 8.
NFL punditry at its most mediocre, with passionate predictions as well as a chat on ‘how do you do clean two bags of dirty dildos, and how much they’re worth’?
Listen, laugh, lather, repeat, subscribe.

Some of the games the guys preview in week 9 include:

Ravens (4-2) vs Colts (5-2)
Ravens -3  +44.5

Indianapolis is healthy again, which i s bad news for the AFC. The have a strong D and a robust O line that keeps Rivers in a solid pocket.
Baltimore suffered a big loss to Pittsburgh last week, and even worse, lost defensive stud Ronnie Stanley. Lamar will suffer with bug pressure and few options to throw to. The Ravens will put up a fight, but the Colts are on a healthy high.
Indy will run Taylor down their throat, while Rivers will have time to finally connect to TY Hilton for big gains.
Ryan is big on the Ravens to avenge their loss to the Steelers, while Wade smells a Colts upset.
Ryan- Ravens 27 Colts 20
Wade- Colts 26 Ravens 23

Broncos (3-4) vs Vikings (2-5)
Vikings -4 +53.5

Minnesota is feeling fine after a nice run down of division rivals Green Bay last week, after Dalvin Cook trampled the Packers for 4 TDs. They lost more of their secondary to injuries, making them even more vulnerable to deep plays.
Denver continues to plow on, despite not having much to work with. Drew Lock is not the answer, continuing to make mistakes despite sudden heroics. Their defence is what keeps them alive bolstered by some special special teams.
Ryan is big on a Vikings ‘W, but Wade thinks the Broncos can flip this one in their favour to cover a tight loss.
Ryan- Vikings 28 Broncos 23
Wade- Vikings 30 Broncos 28

Seahawks (6-1) vs Bills (6-2)
Seahawks -3  +54

Seattle wins again, but gives up big points in the effort. DK Metcalf is transiting from man to machine, ripping the opposition for big value plays. Even if he’s double covered, Tyler Lockett then has a big game. Their running game is handicapped, but they always seem to find  guy to do the job.
Buffalo has a recent win over the Patriots under their belt, but it wasn’t that convincing. Wish Allen struggled to find his rhythm again, and the defence isn’t as rigid as it once was.
Ryan thinks his Bills will lose to a superior Russell Wilson, and Wade agrees. Buffalo will spice up the wings, but Seattle has too much hot sauce.
Ryan- Seahawks 30 Bills 24
Wade- Seahawks 30 Bills 26

Steelers (7-0 vs Cowboys (2-6)
Steelers -13.5  +41.5

Pittsburgh is riding high after a great win over their division rival Ravens last Sunday, after an impressive performance by their defence. Big Ben was ok, but not good enough if the Steelers are going to go all the way. Every team is gunning for them now, even if they don’t win, they’ll be looking to inflict some damage on their reputation.
Dallas is just a mess. Jerry Jones is decrepitly steering America’s yacht into uncharted waters. A great team, with no one to lead it. Injuries galore, and a massively expensive roster. Time to sell off some assets?
Ryan is big on Pittsburgh beating up the lowly Cowpokes, and their new QB. Wade totally agrees on the podcast, and sees it happening. He’s also now changing his opinion and thinks that perhaps the Cowboys will cover this one as they can throw everything at it even if their down & move the chains. Game time decision, watch this space.
Ryan- Steelers 28 Cowboys 9
Wade- Steelers 31 Cowboys 26 *

Week 7 Preview

October 22, 2020 by nflinlondon

Fire up those ears, it’s time for another burning NFL podcast! Wade & Ryan are back on the mike, breaking down all of the week 6 games, as well as making their top picks for week 7 in the NFL. Are you ready for some football?

Week 6 was an emotional week. Ryan watched his Bills get absolutely man-handled by the Chiefs, Aaron Rodgers threw a hissy fit, and Wade’s Bears moved up the ladder to first place in the NFC North.
Week 7 brings with it some potential drama, as some of the top teams could see more losses, while some of the losers look to sink further into the duvet of the season.

Here are some of the top takes from the podcast. Of course, just listen to the whole thing to get the best tips.

Browns (4-2) vs Bengals (1-4-1)
Browns -3.5  +51

The Browns showed up strong, now they are starting to look like a growing stain on the khakis of the league. Baker is regressing week on week, while OBJ continues to chase the skeletons in his personal closet.
Joe Burrow on the other hand has shown some streaks of goodness, despite blowing a big lead last week.
Ryan thinks that the Browns will right the ship, but Wade sees the locker room drama spilling over to this week.
Ryan- Browns 27 Bengals 24
Wade- Bengals 28 Browns 26

Cowboys (2-4) vs Washington (1-5)
Cowboys -2  +47

The crack heard round the league has caught up with Dallas, as Andy Dalton can barely fill the shoes and legs of his predecessor. Dallas has a horrible O-line, and there won’t be any way of plugging it up this season. How can they be this bad with so many offensive weapons.
Washington might suck, but their fast front D has been keeping them in some games. Kyle Allen has looked unsteady, especially with only McLaurin as his only real target.
Ryan figures that this is the game where the ‘Boys can turn it around, but Wade thinks this slide isn’t over.
Ryan- Cowboys 27 Washington 20
Wade- Washington 24 Dallas 20

Steelers (5-0) vs Titans (5-0)
Steelers -1  +52

One of these teams will have their first loss of the season after this game, but who is it going to be? The Titans lost Taylor Lewan for the season, which means Henry and Tannehill have lost one of the best blockers in the league. The Steelers defence continues to punish, tossing aside the poor Browns last week in easy fashion.
Ryan and Wade both like the Steelers here, although you can never count out the Titans, who have made easy work out of some of the top teams this year.
Ryan- Steelers 24 Titans 20
Wade- Steelers 30 Titans 28

Chiefs (5-1) vs Broncos (2-3)
Chiefs -9.5  +48

Kansas City is hot off a win over the Bills in week 6, while the Broncos are smiling after an easy win over Cam & the Patriots. The Chiefs have had a few tough games in a row, so they will be looking for a solid win in week 7. The Broncos must be exhausted after that messy win against Bill Belichick last week, throwing everything that they had at the Patriots, although most of it was field goals.
Ryan & Wade both see the Chiefs winning this one, with Ryan calling a bit of a blow-out, and Wade thinking that the Broncos overing once KC takes its foot off of the gas.
Ryan- Chiefs 34 Broncos 24
Wade- Chiefs 28 Broncos 21

Week 1 Picks

September 10, 2020 by nflinlondon

Praise to the NFL Gods! We’re back with the 2020 season, and Wade & Ryan couldn’t be happier.
This whole year has felt like a Cowboys vs Patriots Super Bowl, with screaming idiocy everywhere, but at least we can find comfort in the start of another year of football.
The guys might not be able to predict what the bloody hell is going to happen in the next 6 months, but at least they will steer you right in their NFL picks.

The first week of the NFL is always tricky to handicap, as there are so many unknown factors and new dynamics rolling off of training camp. 2020 is an even tougher year to predict, as the lack of preseason and physical preparation are all going to factor into some wild and crazy scores. Injuries will also be a major issue, as the lack of a preseason means some of these guys might be soft and brittle the first time someone plows into them.

Wade McElwain and Ryan Cull have done the research, looked at the tape, read a few fantasy magazines and are ready to prognosticate. Wade had a whopping 64% correct against the spread last season, while Ryan came in with 57% correct. Will Wade be able to repeat his wizardry this year? Let’s find out with some of their top picks.

TNF-Texans vs Chiefs (-9) +54.5

The reigning Super Bowl champs kick off the season at home against a foe they face early on in the playoffs last year. Despite trailing 24-0 to Deshaun and the Texans, Mahomes was able to rally his team to go all the way. So how much is changed the season?
Hopkins is gone, Cooks is in and the running game now rests in the hands of Duke Johnson.
The Chiefs have much of their magic back, although some of the blocking on the O line is weaker due to some trades and opt outs.
Both Wade & Ryan like the Chiefs to win here, although Ryan sees the Texans keeping this game closer, while Wade predicts a blowout in from of a smaller Chiefs crowd.
Wade-Chiefs 31 Texans 20
Ryan-Chiefs 31 Texans 28

Dolphins vs Patriots (-6.5) +43

This is the first time we see Bill Belichick without his Tommy Boy, so how will he react to his new NFL normal? He’ll be fine, as BB is known for his meticulous planning for any opponent. Cam will add a nice healthy dose of dip and dash to the offence, and old man Edelman will prove his worth in some quick cuts and short routes. Fitzmagic will need to find his magic wand, as many of his tools have either been traded or regressed in the offseason. Fitz will have some success, but the Patriots D is still one to be feared in the league. Ryan likes the Dolphins to cover, whereas Wade sees this as another beatdown.
Wade-Patriots 30 Dolphins 17
Ryan-Patriots 24 Dolphins 20

Seahawks (-2) vs Falcons +49

The Seahawks are out for a title this year, and many believe that this could be ‘their year’, but first they have to get through some tough competition. The Falcons have struggled with great talent and bad injuries in the past few years, and one wonders if Matt Ryan will ever make a trip back to the Super Bowl in his career. The dome might be lacking in fans, but there will be a lot of eyes on new acquisition Todd Gurley and whether he can stay healthy.
Ryan likes the Seahawks to rough up the Falcons, with Russell Wilson having an impressive day hitting Tyler Lockett.
Wade on the other hand is quick to point out the traditional slow start of the Seahawks, and Pete Carroll not covering the spread on Week 1 since 2014. He has Atlanta in an upset.
Wade-Falcons 30 Seahawks 28
Ryan-Seahawks 31 Falcons 21

For the rest of the predictions, have a listen to our podcast for all the games and scores.
How will the boys do this week?
Make sure you join us one weekend for an NFL event once all of this malarky is behind us.
Stay safe, stay sane, let’s go NFL!
