Memes of June

June 24, 2021 by nflinlondon

When life gives you lemons, you throw them at the team when they start playing poorly, those are the new rules of NFL survival.

Given that this time of year is historically boring for NFL news, we present to you another selection of pithy pictures with titles, in our Memes of June post.

NFL Memes are not only a perfect distraction from the lack of the sport, but also a perfect way to serve up one of your buddies with a massive ‘burn’ as to their favourite player, franchise, or the very way that they live their lives themselves.
That’s how good an NFL Meme can be.

Here’s a selection of memes to kick off the end of your June, and rip you right into July.

GIF Giving

June 8, 2021 by nflinlondon

To break up the boredom and monotony of waiting for the NFL season to begin, we have been sharing silly videos and GIFs with each other to pass the time.
After all, isn’t it just as fun to burn your buddies with a quick video torch of their team in a way that publicly shames them, and gets your point across?
Exactly girlfriend.

To that point, we have put together some GIFs that fit some of the current woes of certain NFL teams.
They are the GIFs that keep on Giving!

Buffalo Bills

The Bills look ready to rock the AFC in 2021, the only thing that stands in their way…is themselves. Playoffs have never been kind to the Bills, which is why we present the Bills Playoff chances.

Kansas City Chiefs

Back it up, beep beep. That’s the attitude of the Kansas City Chiefs this season, as they are confidently heading into the 2021 season.
Sure, they got whooped in the Super Bowl by the Bucs, but they seem pretty confident they’ll be backing that truck back up to the Super Bowl this year.

Dallas Cowboys

America’s team has been having some issues lately. Despite not having won the Super Bowl since the internet and social media existed, dem Boyz are pretty cocky heading into the 2021 season. Be careful what you wish for, and don’t shoot your eye out.

Tampa Bay Bucs

TB12 and the team might be old, but that doesn’t mean that they still don’t have a few tricks up their sleeves. Just like grandma whipping your ass at beer pong, the Bucs will be back to bring in some olde fashioned shaming for the 2021 season.

Chicago Bears

Justin Fields is in! What could possibly go wrong? Ask any Bears fan, and they will give you a list of reasons that doom could be on the horizon. All seems to be going well, until getting hit in the nuts. Is it the front office?

Jacksonville Jaguars

Everyone in the pool, it’s time to party! The Jaguars once again have reasons to be proud, but will this translate into wins?
Jacksonville is banking on its young stars to lead the way for 2021, but could they just be making waves, instead of a splash?

Carolina Panthers

Sam Darnold is out of NY, but will that still stop him from seeing ghosts?
The Panthers are hoping that Christian is back and healthy, and their new crop of stars are going to lead them to glory.
But are these just shadow games?
Will the REAL Carolina Panthers show up this season?

New York Jets

You spin me right round baby, right round.
That’s the feeling of New York Jets fans who get the circle jerk spin every season.
How many times can they tank to get good draft picks, before it’s time to address the real issues?

Cleveland Browns

You’re driving down the highway, thinking that everything is going to be ok…then BAM! Ice crashed into the windshield, and you’re questioning the validity of everything.
Sounds like the Browns in the playoffs?

That’s it for some of the GIFs for this week. We will continue to hunt for funny little videos that you can use to burn your friends, or just to watch in pain as the truth of your own team sets in.

Heck, it’s only June. The NFL will be here soon!

June Memes

June 6, 2021 by nflinlondon

This is when the boredom and frustration of the NFL season sets in…hurry up and wait.

With the OTAs kicking off, and the drama around the league, sometimes it’s good to just appreciate an NFL laugh.
Which is why we give you some June Memes.

Memes never existed during our parents NFL years.
Sure, there might be a cheeky cartoon in Playboy one month, but never were we treated to technological and art editing moments that the memes of today bring us.

Of course there are some current memes that are killing it right now, so the ones to watch out for are….

Tom Brady Memes

TB12 has just learned how to use the graphics and social posts on his phone. Look out. Brady had some fun this week trashing his old pal Aaron Rodgers and his golfing partner Bryson DeChambeau.
Knowing how much golfer Brooks Koepka got pissed off at Bryson a few weeks ago, Tommy Boy took to his phone to show that he too can have some fun.
Brady having fun?
Look out league.

The rest of the best are below.
Obviously no one is as good as TB12 in creating memes, which means the rest of us should just quit.
Unless we can train Michael Jordan to create memes…then we have a chance.

2021 Team Schedules

May 15, 2021 by nflinlondon

The NFL has released the 2021 Team Schedules, and all signs point to football coming back.
Boy are we ready!

Much like every incarnation of the NFL, the release of the season schedule brings with it much pomp, circumstance, and privacy.
In years past, NFL season schedules were typed, printed, faxed, and usually made it to a 4×4 square on page 98 of the sports pages.

Oh how times have changed!
Teams are now adding a bit of pizzazz to the proceedings, with great graphics, poignant puns, and plenty of trash talk when targeting their opponents on twitter.

We’ve added some of the team schedules of all the NFL teams, so that you can plan your viewing excitement come September.

Buffalo Bills

Buffalo opens up their 2021 season with a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.  This should be a great test to open up the playoff chances of the Bills against a team that went 11-0 to start off the season.
The Bills end their season with the Jets, which is always nice for an easy ‘W’

Cleveland Browns

The Browns added some style to their 2021 Schedule release, with some throwback graphics and helmet overlays for their opponents.
Sadly for the Browns, their season starts with the Kansas City Chiefs, who gave the Browns a right kicking last time.
Fortunately, they end the season off with a game against the Bengals.

Carolina Panthers

Keeping it simple, the Carolina Panthers threw down the blue and black for their 2021 schedule. First up is Sam Darnold and his ‘ghosts’, as the Panthers face the New York Jets in an anticipated match-up. The Panthers also have a Boxing Day game against the Bucs, which should be exciting as well.
Sadly their last game of the season is also against the Bucs.

Chicago Bears

The Bears went all ‘Insta’ on their schedule release, with a simple image that looks like Jackson Pollock doodled all over the bottom of the page.
The Bears have one of the toughest schedules in the league for 2021, and an opening game against the LA Rams will certainly be a test.
Chicago also has to face the Vikings in weeks 15 and 18, which could have playoff implications.
Unless they totally suck.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos are a team in need of direction, which shows in their 2021 schedule release. Plenty of space, but not a lot of info-fitting for this Denver team.
Denver still has that begging question ‘Are we getting Aaron Rodgers’, which could add to the team drama.
With a regular season game against the Kansas City Chiefs, an Aaron Rodgers led team could lead to an epic finale.

Green Bay Packers

Get your cheese-heads ready, we’re in for a wild ride Green Bay.
More drama than your mama, the Packers are watching their dirty laundry bounce around the neighbourhood.
Even if AR does return, what kind of toxicity will be in that locker room?
Fortunately for the Packers, their last game of the season is the Detroit Lions.

Indianapolis Colts

What can the Colts do this season? They have been ‘luckless’ as of late, with Phillip Rivers dribbling in the cup on the way to a lack lustre season.
They’ve got Carson Wentz, and the Seattle Seahawks as their first opponent.
The Colts finish their season with a divisional matchup with the Jags.
Are the Colts playoff bound this year?

There are 272 games across 18 weeks.
Some will be amazing.
Some you will only watch on catch-up the next day.
Isn’t it great to have the NFL back?

April Showers

April 11, 2021 by nflinlondon

It’s raining NFL free agents this month, as we delve into the state of the league in our April Showers podcast.

Wade McElwain and a hungover Ryan Cull take to the waves to discuss some of the landing spots and potential trades that could shake, rattle and roll some of the teams heading into the start of the 2021 season.

Teams are QB-rabid heading into the draft, but is this clouding the overall judgment for the team going forward?
One of these young men will turn into a bust, but which one will it be?

Among some of the hot topics that Wade & Ryan twerk on in this April Showers episode includes:

Dam Sarnold

Sam is gone from the Jets, so now we can figure out whether it was him, or the putrid Jets.
New York has traded away 6 straight number one picks, which is a troubling sign for a franchise that has trouble shooting straight.
The Jets have spent too long being bad, and if they aren’t able to right the ship after the past few years of opportunities, then they really do suck.

Draft Chat

Colts stud Darius Leonard thinks that the current Draft class ‘talks too much’, which could just be a sign of youth.
Thanks to social media, many of these youngsters are actually engaging and responding to criticism prior to the draft.
It’s one thing that we have learned from Twitter and the ilk, saying something stupid in your youth will NEVER come back to haunt you.

Sorry Buffalo

It took long enough! The Buffalo Bills finally received an apology from the NFL this week after admitting that they got a playoff call ‘wrong.’
A blindsided chop-block called against Cody Ford in a 2019 playoff game against the Houston Texans was deemed a ‘bad call’ in hindsight by the league.
Not only did the chop-block call take the Bills out of potential field goal range, but Ford was also fined $28,075 for the dirty deed.
No word from the NFL if they plan on repaying the huge fine to Ford, or whether they are happy to just to ignore him.
The real anger must stir with Bills fans who are now only getting the apology a few years later, and not a lot of justification.

Drunkest & Most Stoned Fans

Real fans of the NFL are passionate across every facet of the league.
So when it came down to determining which fans not only draw the most, but consumed the most weed…one could see what fans became so darn patriotic.
After all, Buffalo prides itself on throwing it’s drunken fans through tables-surely that must put them on top of the heap?
Surprisingly…no.
In terms of potheads, weed isn’t fully legal across the country, so it would be expected that a ‘green’ state would once again lead the way in cannabis culture.
Again…wrong.
So what team leads the league in both alcohol and marijuana consumption?
It’s the Atlanta Falcons!
Not surprising, since they blown more leads than a pitbull owner.
Maybe it’s the cheap food and drink, or southern hospitality, but ATL is the place to partay.
Can’t wait to have you guys in London this year!

We are still patiently waiting on news about who the Atlanta Falcons coming to London this year, but given recent data-we will be stocking up on booze and weed to make them feel right at home.
Let’s see how that goes!

Here’s the podcast!
Make sure that you share it, listen to it with loved ones, or blare it really loud to get back at neighbours that you might hate.
It’s a pretty pliable podcast.
