What a topsy turvy week it’s been in the NFL.
Week 8 brought us some major upsets, as well as injuries.
The week that followed brought us big news that the bug is still in the league, and some folks have their own stance on it.
Wade and Ryan lock and load it all down for you in this episode of the podcast we call Immunised- Week 9.
Week 8
Oh what a headache week was, as the injure bug picked off a few more victims.
Derek Henry went down for a large chunk of the season after suffering a massive win over the Colts. Fantasy fans will be livid that King Henry is absent from their lineups after infecting heavy losses on weekly opponents.
The New York Jets came alive by skinning the Bengals thanks to the heroics of Mike White.
Mike who?
Yep, Mike White stepped up to toss for over 400 yards and making a rich bettor even richer after taking such a leap of faith on the rookie.
Squeaky Kermit and the Chiefs were able to tomahawk a victory over the sad as fluck Giants.
Kansas City keeps itself alive for another week, but the shine is off the trolley as opponents are keenly aware of how easy it is to rattle Mahomes.
Miller Time
Von Miller is off to the Rams, making and Los Angeles squad even deeper and darker.
Having to face Aaron Donald every snap is scary enough, but adding the blistering energy of Von Miller is sure to take this top D to new heights.
Best of all, these guy’s will not only come to his Halloween party, they’ll probably even pay.
Oh BJ
Odell Beckham Jr. once again was under the shadow of his father, after the latter went on a tear about how his son was left open too often by Bunker Mayfield.
The Browns responded by not allowing Beckham to practice, which is a quick sign that OBJ will be hitting the Ohio highways in search of catching pastures.
Many teams would love to snag the services of this unappreciated receiver, not the least of whom would be his old buddy Sean Payton in New Orleans, who could use some speed after the loss of often injured Michael Thomas this week.
Rodgered
Aaron Rodgers made the news this week when it came out that he had failed a COVID test. The oopsie daisy got even smellier when it emerged that Rodgers wasn’t even vaccinated, and opted for a homeopathic treatment instead.
Pots called kettles black, kettles called their lawyers as the media scrambles to figure out what the league will actually do here.
Rodgers blatantly misled reporters and fans by claiming he was ‘immunised’, a tacit dodge of whether or not he had been jabbed.
Aaron will miss Week 9 versus the Chiefs, but it remains to be seen if the NFL or indeed the media might demand answers and justice for having deceived his health status to those who might have trusted his jabs.
Ryan’s Picks
Ryan has a few choice picks for week 9, but you should listen to the whole podcast to get the full flavour.
He likes the Chargers (-3) to rebound in true electric fashion, zapping the poor Eagles in a solid win to get back they season.
Get out the sourdough, Ryan likes the 49ers (+1) to strike gold against the weekend Cardinals. Hopkins and Green will be out, leaving poor Kyler to face that pass rush. Upset win here.
Raider (-3) nation will be happy that Ryan is big on the pirates to steal a victory for the sad sack Giants.
Ruggs might be facing life, but what happens in Vegas…doesn’t work anymore.
Wade’s Picks
Tyrods’s Texans (+6.5) could keep it honest with the Dolphins, in what could be the worst game of week 9.
Gaskin will probably gash the Texans for maximum yards, but Tyrod will be able to hit Cooks to keep this close.
Bill Belichick might be a master as of late, but his castaway Gilmore might have something to say about his trip to the south.
The Panthers (+4) have found some mojo in the form of Christan McCaffery, who should be able to stay healthy for a play or two.
Carolina will pop out an upset here to make old Bill sad faced.
As Bears fan, Wade is obliged to hate the Packers (+7.5), but can’t see why they are underdogs by more than a touchdown. Green Bay’s D is a force to be fumbled with, and Jordan Love has been slowly cooking for his chance to shine.
Packers win.
