June Memes

June 6, 2021 by nflinlondon

This is when the boredom and frustration of the NFL season sets in…hurry up and wait.

With the OTAs kicking off, and the drama around the league, sometimes it’s good to just appreciate an NFL laugh.
Which is why we give you some June Memes.

Memes never existed during our parents NFL years.
Sure, there might be a cheeky cartoon in Playboy one month, but never were we treated to technological and art editing moments that the memes of today bring us.

Of course there are some current memes that are killing it right now, so the ones to watch out for are….

Tom Brady Memes

TB12 has just learned how to use the graphics and social posts on his phone. Look out. Brady had some fun this week trashing his old pal Aaron Rodgers and his golfing partner Bryson DeChambeau.
Knowing how much golfer Brooks Koepka got pissed off at Bryson a few weeks ago, Tommy Boy took to his phone to show that he too can have some fun.
Brady having fun?
Look out league.

The rest of the best are below.
Obviously no one is as good as TB12 in creating memes, which means the rest of us should just quit.
Unless we can train Michael Jordan to create memes…then we have a chance.

OTA Days

June 4, 2021 by nflinlondon

The NFL is back!…Sort of…the OTA’s are back, and we chat about all the NFL news we can find in our OTA Days podcast.

Wade McElwain and Ryan Cull dig the depths of their brains to find anything football to talk about in this episode, highlighting their desperation for the return of football.

Summer is almost here, and once we get these pesky days of sunshine, family and ice cream out of the way…football is finally back!

While there hasn’t been any massive NFL breaking news stories, arrests, Kardashian marriages, or reality show appearances, that doesn’t mean stuff isn’t simmering below the surface.

In this episode, Wade and Ryan talk about some of the most pressing NFL issues heading into the summer of 2021.

Julio Jones

Bye, bye Atlanta, Julio is gone. But where will Julio go? While he does’ have the explosive speed of a few years back, Julio is still a valuable target for any team heading into 2021.
With many teams pleading empty pockets, it’s hard to see how a team will entice Julio with the right concoction. He’s not going to roll up to a half-baked team without playoff chances, he’s going to want a shot at finally getting a ring.
The potential suitors in this one?
Patriots, Raiders, Titans, and maybe the Packers?

Aaron Gone

Aaron Rodgers sure knows how to bring the drama with him, perhaps a casualty of dating so many Hollywood starlets?
Many Packers fans thought this was all part of the package when Rodgers started getting hissy at the start of the season.
He obviously hates the GM, and won’t budge until he’s gone.
Rodgers didn’t report to the OTAs, instead traveling with actor Miles Teller, to watch him get punched in the face across the islands of Hawaii.
Maybe he’ll just retire?

NBA Myles

A video emerged this week of Browns beast Myles Garrett slamming down a dunk and knocking the poor lad into a cushy wall.
The NFL and Browns were not amused, and have politely asked Myles to not play basketball like this during the offseason, just in case he destroys a knee or two.
Luckily for the dunkee, Myles didn’t have a helmet at the ready.

Ertz Don’t It?

The Buffalo Bills need a TE, and the Eagles are ready to serve up a scoop of Ertz.
The Bills are in need of more depth for Josh Allen, so snagging the ageing Ertz might be a good hands option to take the heat off the deep threats down field.
Zach and the Bills make a good fit, and they even moved some numbers on Diggs contract to be able to make it work.
Now, they just need the Eagles to play ball.

Jay Cutler-Businesswoman

Jay Cutler wants to get paid! After whoring out the family dignity on a reality show, the Cutler’s are now breaking up the houses for the final throw down.
In true Cutler form, he hasn’t prepared much-but is willing to ‘ball down’ when it comes to the nitty gritty.
Jay apparently wants half of his wife’s trinkets and bobbles boutique, so he can throw that shit down too.
With little NFL drama in the world, other players are jumping on social to throw their support behind Jay and his coup.
‘NFL Divorces’ the TV series we didn’t know we needed.

London Games

Are you vaccinated? Are you from a green country? Can you read minds?
Then you’re all set of the London games!
It’s still too early to tell what will happen for the London games, but all signs point to ‘business as usual.’
We will keep you updated on news about the games, as well as any other tidbits and trinkets of knowledge that we find out.
Please DO NOT buy tickets from unlicensed sellers, we hear horror stories from fans every year, and it truly is crappy what people do to one another.

Stay safe, stay sane, and keep listening to our podcast!

May Days

May 18, 2021 by nflinlondon

Now what do we do?
The 2021 NFL Draft is over, the schedule has been released…now we wait.
In anticipation, we give you our May Days podcast, a look at what to do until the season starts.

Wade McElwain and Ryan Cull soak in the spring thunderstorms as they look ahead to a Covid free, fan attended, 2021 NFL season.
Is it all a simulation, or is this thing going to happen?

Fingers crossed, full steam ahead to a trouble free 2021 NFL season.

Among some of the other things the guys talk about include:

2021 London Games

The Jaguars & Falcons are both hosting home games at Tottenham stadium in October 2021, as they host the Dolphins and Jets respectively.
Will these games go ahead? When do we get tickets? Where is the game? Can I go even if I am leaking corona virus?

Too early to tell on all accounts.
In terms of tickets, DO NOT BUY THEM NOW…as they haven’t gone on sale yet.
The NFLUK will be your best source of news, as will we, so please be patient until the ticket situation works itself out.
Never buy tickets from an untrusted source, or from a rando online.

Tottenham Stadium is in Northeast London, which means it is quite a ways from central London. Especially on a Sunday night.
This stadium is not to be confused with Wembley, which is in the North West of the city.
Getting to Tottenham from central London will take you 30-60 minutes depending where you are.
Nothing really happens in London on a Sunday night (how sad), but we will have some fun ticket options ready for you soon.

TSL

Have you watched ‘The Spring League’ yet? Any idea what the heck is going on?
Wade & Ryan talk about the league, and how it’s growing 4 years on.
With news that ‘The Rock’ is about to slather up the XFL and squeeze it inside the rectum of the CFL, there is a general giddiness about the potential.
The collaboration could either blow up big like Hobbs, or fall faster that a ‘Skyscraper.’
More football is good football, provided that it’s good football.

Scam-lanta

Poor Juantaris Bryant. The former player was swatted by someone posing to be a member of the Falcons staff.
Bryant was offered a tryout, but it turns out that there was no offer at all?
Who would do something so cruel?
Probably Tom Brady…

Fantasy Rankings

Your players are fat, unfocused, or yet to be traded. Let’s make a dynasty!
PFF released their WR and RB rankings heading into the 2021 season, and some of the top picks might surprise you.
Injuries have been the top player for the past few season, wrecking out some of the top players in their roles.

Wade and Ryan look at the top 10 in each ranking, then bitch about the guy in their leagues that will probably steal them.

TB24

Tom Brady’s dad isn’t having it!
Old man Brady went on a tear over the damn Patriots recently, breaking his silence on those who have tried to get a taste of GOAT.
With the hotly anticipated Week 4 match up between the Bucs and Pats, what will all this trash talk do?
Motivation or humiliation?
Nobody puts TB12 in a Foxboro!

That’s it for this episode, hope you enjoy it, and spread it faster than the ‘Indian variant’.
Always wear protection when working with our podcast.
We’re working on exciting plans for the 2021 season, so watch this space!

2021 Team Schedules

May 15, 2021 by nflinlondon

The NFL has released the 2021 Team Schedules, and all signs point to football coming back.
Boy are we ready!

Much like every incarnation of the NFL, the release of the season schedule brings with it much pomp, circumstance, and privacy.
In years past, NFL season schedules were typed, printed, faxed, and usually made it to a 4×4 square on page 98 of the sports pages.

Oh how times have changed!
Teams are now adding a bit of pizzazz to the proceedings, with great graphics, poignant puns, and plenty of trash talk when targeting their opponents on twitter.

We’ve added some of the team schedules of all the NFL teams, so that you can plan your viewing excitement come September.

Buffalo Bills

Buffalo opens up their 2021 season with a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.  This should be a great test to open up the playoff chances of the Bills against a team that went 11-0 to start off the season.
The Bills end their season with the Jets, which is always nice for an easy ‘W’

Cleveland Browns

The Browns added some style to their 2021 Schedule release, with some throwback graphics and helmet overlays for their opponents.
Sadly for the Browns, their season starts with the Kansas City Chiefs, who gave the Browns a right kicking last time.
Fortunately, they end the season off with a game against the Bengals.

Carolina Panthers

Keeping it simple, the Carolina Panthers threw down the blue and black for their 2021 schedule. First up is Sam Darnold and his ‘ghosts’, as the Panthers face the New York Jets in an anticipated match-up. The Panthers also have a Boxing Day game against the Bucs, which should be exciting as well.
Sadly their last game of the season is also against the Bucs.

Chicago Bears

The Bears went all ‘Insta’ on their schedule release, with a simple image that looks like Jackson Pollock doodled all over the bottom of the page.
The Bears have one of the toughest schedules in the league for 2021, and an opening game against the LA Rams will certainly be a test.
Chicago also has to face the Vikings in weeks 15 and 18, which could have playoff implications.
Unless they totally suck.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos are a team in need of direction, which shows in their 2021 schedule release. Plenty of space, but not a lot of info-fitting for this Denver team.
Denver still has that begging question ‘Are we getting Aaron Rodgers’, which could add to the team drama.
With a regular season game against the Kansas City Chiefs, an Aaron Rodgers led team could lead to an epic finale.

Green Bay Packers

Get your cheese-heads ready, we’re in for a wild ride Green Bay.
More drama than your mama, the Packers are watching their dirty laundry bounce around the neighbourhood.
Even if AR does return, what kind of toxicity will be in that locker room?
Fortunately for the Packers, their last game of the season is the Detroit Lions.

Indianapolis Colts

What can the Colts do this season? They have been ‘luckless’ as of late, with Phillip Rivers dribbling in the cup on the way to a lack lustre season.
They’ve got Carson Wentz, and the Seattle Seahawks as their first opponent.
The Colts finish their season with a divisional matchup with the Jags.
Are the Colts playoff bound this year?

There are 272 games across 18 weeks.
Some will be amazing.
Some you will only watch on catch-up the next day.
Isn’t it great to have the NFL back?

2021 Season Schedule

May 14, 2021 by nflinlondon

The official NFL 2021 season Schedule is out, and boy did we guess wrong!
The NFL tickled us with surprise for this year, and what a pleasant surprise it is.

Wade & Ryan talk all about it in our 2021 Season Schedule Podcast.

Using the clues and hints dropped by the NFL, NFLUK and other rambling journos-we had anticipated a late October matchup with the Falcons and AFC opponent.
With the addition of the Jags to the mix, we then thought an NFC opponent would be plucked from the schedule to fill the role.
Given that the NFLUK likes to schedule games on consecutive weekends, we thus concluded the Patriots and Cardinals would be the visiting team at the end of October.
Nope and nope.

So, now we know the following NFL games

Sunday October 10, 2021-2:30pm GMT

NY Jets vs Atlanta Falcons

Sunday October 17th, 2021-2:30pm GMT

Miami Dolphins vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Some great games that we are highly looking forward to.

Among some of the other things the guys discuss in this episode includes.

London Games

When do tickets go on sale? How much are they? Do I need a vaccine?
We don’t know anything about this yet, but will let you know when we do.
Things are looking good Covid-wise for the 2021 London games, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
The NFL must be dealing with a logistical nightmare of moving parts, and a myriad of questions.
With a new variant, travel opening up, and vaccination target rates being reached, we are hopeful that everything will go off swimmingly.
Let’s just get through the summer.

Week 1 Games

What are the top games everyone is looking forward to on week 1?
Browns vs Chiefs? Dolphins vs Patriots? Bears vs Rams?
There are loads of tough contests out there to kick off the season, and no one likes to do it with a W.
The ‘odds’ are out for week 1 games, and Ryan wants to make some bets!

Falc-Off

Julio Jones doesn’t seem happy. He’s left off the Atlanta 2021 hype package, and he’s getting less love each year.
Will the Falcons double down on Pitts, or try to make everyone happy?
Falcons need a winning season for any sense of pride.

Sad Pack

Aaron Rodgers wants to break up with Green Bay because they aren’t nice to him. We don’t know what he wants exactly, but he is totally putting the big ‘D’ in the drama here.
After some great NFC dominance the future of the Packers playoff runs could be in jeopardy. (get it?)
Fortunately the Packers brought in the double B in Blake Bortles, who has been spending his free time listening to his name on ‘The Good Place’ reruns.
Green Bay has buckets of talent and primed to actually contend for the title if they are able to make a few deft moves, as well as prime up the locker room motivation.
Thus far, they seem like a family on edge.

Timma!

Tim Tebow is back, and he’s ready to convert! To tight end.
The NFL free agency world went loopy this week at the announcement that Tim Tebow would be returning to the NFL.
Why not Kaep? Why this washed up white boy?
Have some ‘faith’ in Urban Meyer.
Tebow took the 90th and final roster spot to return to a state where he is held as a football ‘God.’
Tebow might jump on a few surprise snaps, but will find himself riding the pines most of this season.
Considering the jump in lumber prices, he might have the most expensive seat in the house.

Have a laugh and a listen to the podcast.
