Tides of March

March 26, 2022 by nflinlondon

If the 2022 off season was a dancer, we would all be shouting out ‘check out those moves’, as the NFL break provides us plenty of entertainment.

Aaron Rodgers immunises himself against teammates, Matty Ice switches to Matty F-U, and Tom Brady finds a new lease on life.

All of these things and more, as Wade & Ryan break it all down in this Tides of March podcast.

Apologies to the delay in this release, Ryan did a filthy thing and got himself the COVID last week.

Watson Lottery

The Browns took the big stain, and harnessed Deshaun Watson under the helm for the 2022 season.

Anyone who took on the weight of the Watson contract was bound to be gagged by accusations of Cosby’ism, depravity and an insensitivity to women’s rights.

Cleveland will be hoping that people forgive and forget, which is a common play in this type of social formation.

The state of Texas decided not to charge Watson, so it will be up to Cleveland what kind of pressure that they want to put on this young man.

Cheetah Sprint

No sooner could you say ‘Wanna do a Tik Tok?’, and Tyreek Hill has bolted from the Kansas City Chiefs.

Maybe it was the signing of Juju that put him off, or maybe it was seeing Davante Adams getting paid to think ‘I could do that’?

The Cheetah is off to the Dolphins and the limp-dicked arm of Tua. Given that Ty has lost some of his sprint in recent seasons, maybe they will be able to connect with each other.

Wherever he goes, these massive WR contracts are going to pile a lot of pressure on young talent to deliver the touchdowns for these massive paydays.

TB Dolphin

The rumour mill is crank-yanking this week, with the latest doozy that Tom Brady will use his latest unretirement to return to the game, to get traded to the Dolphins.

Apparently, Tommy had wanted to join the Fins prior to Brian Flores’ who ‘Miami hates black coaches’ kerfuffle, and the Dolphins have been as sweet on him as well.

It doesn’t really make sense given how the Bucs brought him back, and the supporting talent that responded as a result.

Could just be the dreams and creams of some ‘Florida Man’ conspiracy theory.

Matty Horse

Matt Ryan took a big slap of disrespect from the Falcons to finally move on to the middle ground of Indianapolis.

The Falcons were dickish in their chase of Deshaun, effectively saying ‘yeah, but you sucked’ to Ryan as they made offers for disgraced Watson.

The Colts we so close to getting in last year, if it weren’t for their horrific QB play.

Indy has all the tools to make it back to the playoffs this year, and maybe Matty Ice will turn into Matty Fire.

Jack it Up

Jacksonville has been big pimping during the off season, splooging over $250 million on player contracts since they boot scooted Urban Meyer.

While the team has made the commitment to Trevor Lawrence, they have also been throwing around a lot of cash without really seeming to negotiate.

The Jaguars have been ‘re-building’ since they came into the league as a franchise, and watching them do it has been about as frustrating as watching an amateur driver attempt to parallel park the same way 50 times with the same result.
‘Just park on the grass!’

If they can’t get a winning season this year with an extra bump of cash and the talent on the roster, maybe it’s time to move to Austin.

London Games

Jaguars, Packers and Saints are all hosting games in London this year.

What’s the dealio?

We will be back shortly with our London Game preview, so that you can make your plans for attending one of these awesome contests in the UK in 2022.

March Madness

March 25, 2022 by nflinlondon

The NCAA basketball tourney might be getting all the heat during this spring spree, but the real March Madness is what’s coming out of the NFL offseason.

What the holy heck is going on in the league? Because it feels soooo good!

Elementary Watson

Deshaun Watson has finally found at home in Ohio, but not everyone is thrilled.

Despite not facing any criminal charges, the thigh rubbing ways of Watson is rubbing some fans the wrong way.

Deshaun gets paid big time, and the Browns finally have the baller that they need to compete in an ever dangerous AFC.

It shouldn’t surprise NFL fans that the stink bomb of Watson would follow him wherever he went.
Obviously a team in Las Vegas is going to care less about the issue than the Browns, because that would be the expected behaviour from a Raider.

Hopefully we can all get back to bitching about the Texans and Jets on their own merits.

Rodger Dodger

Maybe the real Last Dance was last year, as Aaron Rodgers slate of dance partners are sashaying off to find other boogie mates.

Davante Adams took less money to go to Vegas and play with Derek Carr, which shows that maybe the tight clique that they have had wasn’t as strong as we all believed.

With VD Scantling also off to greener pastures, Green Bay would have many receiving options they can afford (maybe Cole Beasley?)

Has Rodgers stance from last season come back to bit him in the ass? Or is he an ass for demanding so much money?

At least they’re coming to London.

Chief Concerns

Ruh Roh Patrick! Is everyone leaving you?

Kansas City Chiefs have had some concerns this week, as the Cheetah sprinted off to a nicer jungle, taking a massive pay raise with the Miami Dolphins.

Perhaps it was the signing of Tik Tok Tyrant Juju that put Tyreek over the edge, but whatever it was, the Chiefs had lost a massive talent.

Sure, Tyreek saw a drop in performance last year, but the whole Chiefs team did.

The real question is how are the Dolphins going to hit him with the deep ball?

Florida Tom

Tom Brady is back in Florida, and the Bucs are ready for another season.

But hold on! Rumours are circling the bowl that TB12 is going to play in Florida…but for the Dolphins!

Rumours earlier this season that Tom was moving to Miami, only to stop that train once Brian Flores threw down his ‘Fuck you Miami’ speech.

With Flores off to Pittsburgh, the whispers continue that Tommy might still make a trade to the Fins, and give the Bucs plenty if trade picks.

While it sounds sweet, it would be hard to see recent Tampa signings like Godwin and Gage happy that Tommy squirted off to another sunset.

No Charges

There’s only one NFL team that has had ZERO arrests over the past five years, and that team is the LA Chargers.

The Chargers have also had ZERO fans over this same period, so the figures aren’t totally surprising.

Las Vegas blew the wad on arrests last year, making the Raiders head office and locker rooms a great source of inmate potential.

Lucky for Los Angeles, they have made a bunch of signings in the off season, so those arrest records could be climbing up any week now.

Bucking Colts

The Falcons showed their cards when they said they would go all in for Deshaun Watson, not something their veteran QB Matt Ryan wanted to hear.

No surprise then that Matty Ice got stone cold on ATL, and asked to fly, fly, fly.

The stars aligned pretty good for Matty with the Indianapolis Colts, who have had a sucky QB for the past few years.

While past ball-slingers who rolled into Indy might have been on their last legs, Ryan could be the QB that gets the Colts further than turding it out during their first playoff game.

Might be worth throwing £10 on the Colts winning the AFC as a cheeky bet!

London Games

Packers and Saints are hosting home games at Tottenham, and the Jaguars are once again playing in Wembley.

But who do they play and when?

We will have all of our predictions for you next week!

SuperBowl in London

February 2, 2022 by nflinlondon

Sports Bar & Grill-Clapham

The best little sports bar in south London, this SB&G location has plenty of space for all of your Super watching.

Conveniently located on the high street near Clapham Junction station, this sports bar boasts over 20 TVs of action that will be booming Bengals vs Rams all night long.

Make sure you get to the pub in good time so that you can dig in to yummy wings, heavenly pizzas and of course a wide selection of beers on tap.

You will need tickets for this event, and early booking is recommended.

Get your tickets here!

Sports Bar & Grill-Old Street

The SB&G Old Street is sadly sold out for the SuperBowl.

Thanks to everyone who has supported the pub all NFL season long, and a big thanks to all you fans who booked your tickets early.

It truly has been a magically location to show the NFL.

If you have booked for the evening, look forward to over 50 TVs of NFL action!

Words to the Wise

As promoters of the NFL and American Sports, we often encounter some less than honest players who are looking to take advantage of NFL fans.

Whether it’s venues who think showing partial games is satisfactory, claiming certain foods as ‘American’, or just in general being rude and racist to American football fans.
We have seen it all.

Please be aware, that there are many charlatans running Super Bowl nights, and we have had to make contingencies for many of these dodgy venues.

If the place doesn’t show sport or NFL normally, then they will probably screw up the event some how.

Some of the Super Bowl shit shows we have seen/heard over the years at dodgy venues in the UK include:

-failing to get a late license, then kicking people out and keeping their money.
-having 1 TV for 400 people
-booking a stripper before the big game
-uncooked chicken wings
-a coked out bar manager telling ‘all the Yanks to fuck off’
-putting on their own halftime show
-timer on the TV goes off-no one knows how to turn it off. End of game is missed.
-not having anything before the game planned-people sitting around from 7-11pm…doing nothing.

We can GUARANTEE none of that will happen at our parties. Book your seats now so that you don’t miss out!

Looking forward to seeing everyone for the SuperBowl on Sunday Feb 13th!

We will have game previews and predictions for you leading up to the big game!

Auld Langs

December 31, 2021 by nflinlondon

Happy New Year everyone!

We hope that Santa was good to you, that you avoided this nasty flu that’s going around, and you made it to the finals of your NFL Fantasy Playoffs.

Wade and Ryan are back for another cross-Atlantic podcast, as we bid adieu to 2021, and hope for better things in 2022.

Week 17 is almost upon us, and the COVID exemptions are already starting to pile up, with over 200 players expected to be affected by Sunday.

If you’re in the know, and good at betting, you should be able to find some juicy picks out of the rumble of games slated to kickoff for Week 17 in our Auld Langs podcast.

We’ve got our podcast locked and loaded for you, so that you listen, relax and let the Joe Average aura of the guys take you to your happy place.

NFLinLondon · Auld Langs-Ep 180

Among some of the games the guys look at this week.

Dolphins (8-7) vs -3.5 Titans (10-5) +39.5

Tua and the fopping fish have had a heck of a season, winning seven straight games after losing 7 straight games, the only team to ever accomplish such a feat.
They sunk the Saints, but now look to a desperate Tennessee team who need the home crowd to help them take it over the top.

The Titans have suffered since losing Derek Henry earlier in the season. Without a smack in the face running game, they have had to rely on a Ryan Tannehill who lost most of the tools in his belt.

Ryan and Wade both like Tennessee to win, but Wade thinks that Miami should be able to keep in close with some of their receivers returning to health.

Ryan-Titans 23 Dolphins 16
Wade-Titans 21 Dolphins 18

-3.5 LA Rams (11-4) vs Ravens (8-7) +47

Matt Stafford and the Rams have everyone scratching their heads.
What was thought to be a wham bam, thank you kick in the West coast, has many wondering if Matt can carry the load he was expected to.
Bad back, defence that allows plenty of points, and losing Robert Woods took notch out of their depth.

Baltimore has been a steaming hot mess since Lamar went down, losing most of their D in the process.
Huntley was good, until he got injured, and hopefully one of them should be back this week.

Wade & Ryan agree that this is going to be one heck of a game, but that for the Ravens, this might be the more desperate time.

Ryan likes the Rams to grab and hold a good lead, while Wade figures the Ravens to be feisty enough to keep it close.

Ryan-Rams 27 Ravens 20
Wade-Rams 26 Ravens 25

-3.5 Eagles (8-7) vs Washington FT (6-9)  +45

Jalen Hurts is starting to play like his career depends on it, as the Eagles desperately chase one of the final playoff spots.
The Eagles have found some nuggets of gold in their roster this season, but have failed to develop their fortitude when it matters.

WFT is coming off a blowout by the Cowboys last week, in a game where they played every string left in the roster. They will have some of their main dudes back for Week 17, but with season slipping away, the motivation might be hard to come by.

Ryan is all over the Eagles in this one, taking Hurts and the boys for a smooth ride over a roughshot Washington team.

Wade believes that in these key moments, some teams just poop the bed, and this will be the case this week. When you want a win that bad, you often mess it up to spite yourself.

Ryan-Eagles 27 WFT 17
Wade-WFT 21 Eagles 20

That’s it for Week 17 picks, hopefully you find some wisdom in the ramblings.

Sports Bar & Grill

Sports Bar and Grill Old Street and Clapham are rocking the NFL all Sunday long, just make sure that you book a table ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

You can watch the game you want on your own TV.

Book ’em up here.

Tips Ahoy-Week 14

December 12, 2021 by nflinlondon

It’s Week 14 in the NFL, which means that some of you are now totally out of your fantasy season.
Does it burn?

Now that pesky fantasy is out of the way, you can focus on some of the more important NFL things, like making some money off of it in time for Christmas.

Wade and Ryan have made their top picks for Sunday, in their Tips Ahoy-Week 14.

Ryans Tips

Ryan has been nervous for all of week 14 given that his Bills are playing the Bucs in south Florida on Sunday evening.
Will a total lack of a running game spell the end for the Bills?

Ryan’s first tip is for those Lions (+10) to keep on roaring. Fresh off a win last week, Detroit is getting itself high in Denver on Sunday.
He likes Goff and the steady play of the Lions to wreck some havoc on Teddy B and that injured Broncos team.
Lions to cover.

‘Dem Boys (-4.5) are confident that on Sunday they will prevail over the Washington FT. So confident, they guaranteed a win over Ron Rivera and the WFT.
Ryan still thinks that Dallas can’t fail in this one, and should easily cover the small spread en route to victory.

Matt Stafford and the LA Rams (+3) have a problem, they can’ win convincingly anymore.
Ryan thinks that this will end on Monday night, as the Rams will hold off the tenacious Cardinals for a big win.
He likes the Rams in a comfy win.

Who Dat at QB? No really? Who is it? It’s Taysom Hill! And he’s going to lead the Saints (-5.5) to a big win over the lowly Jets on Sunday.
New York is missing most of their receivers, so Ryan thinks that the Saints and their D should easily crush whoever suits up on the Big Apple.

If you take all of Ryan’s picks of the Lions, Cowboys, LA Rams & Saints, a £10 wager will pay out a lovely £151.20.

Wade’s Picks

Did you make some money off of Wade’s picks on Sunday? He did, with some nifty parlays that paid out on losers.

Speaking of losers, lets’ take a look at some of Wade’s hot tips for Sunday.

Urban Meyer is about to find himself isolated, as reports of bullying, calling coaches ‘losers’, and groping are just the tip of the problem in Meyer’s pants.
Luckily the Jaguars (+8.5) are facing a woeful Tennessee squad that is still hobbled by injury.
The Jaguars may not win this divisional game, but they should keep it close.

Close is how the game between the Falcons (+2.5) vs the Panthers will be on Sunday, as Matt Ryan is hoping for a win against SuperCam.
Both of these teams have been beaten by the injury bug, but Matty Ice still has his burn from TB12 etched into recent memory.
Cam is bad, Matt is better, and ATL should be it close.

Houston has more than a problem, it has an epidemic.
The franchise continues to slide, as another top coached was fired this week for no reason.
The Texans (+8.5) host Chef Russell Wilson on Sunday, and will most definitely lose, but by how much?
The Seahawks will struggle to bridge the 8.5 point gap, allowing the Texans to not get totally blown out.

The Giant neck of Mike Glennon is back, as New York (+10) heads to LA for a Sunday night game under the coastal sun.
The Chargers will be looking for blood, but let’s not forget no one really scores more than 20 points on the Giants, as their D keeps them in games they shouldn’t be in.
10 points is a lot to give to a Chargers team that took it on the chin from the Bengals last Sunday.

If you want to make some dosh off of Wade’s picks, all you have to do is select the Jaguars, Falcons, Texans & Giants. A £10 wager will net you £154.70.

Blustery Ride

If you want to listen to all of our picks, just click on the podcast here to get yourself going.

It’s fun, free, and virtually non-addictive. Tips Ahoy to you!
