Week 16-Saturday

December 21, 2019 by nflinlondon

The NFL on Saturday? What is this, Christmas?
Presents for everyone!
Week 16 is always a tough week to handicap, because teams play for the playoffs or players play to get traded next season.
After taking a bath in my picks last week, I am hoping to rebound with a solid weekend of NFL savvy.
How many can I get right this week?
Let’s start with our Saturday matches to see where my head is at.

-3 Texans (9-5) vs Buccaneers (7-7) +50.5

The Bucs are bringing back Jameis for 2020, so saddle in fans.
Jameis has continued to put up a buckled of points every week, despite tossing as many INTs and fumbling the ball.
He’s had 2 games in a row with 450+ yards, and he could continue that against a tired, and weakened Texans secondary.
His top 2 receivers will also be a gamete decision, so Perriman could see the ball quite a bit in this game.
The Texans will want a win, but with a Titans rematch in Week 17, they might not be as fully focused.
The Bucs have a solid front D that will force DeShaun into pressure situations to make mistakes.
Tampa is playing to a hometown Christmas crowd, so look for them to deliver a present in the form of a close game.
Texans will irk out the win, but barely.
Bucs COVER

Bills (10-4) vs -6 Patriots (11-4)

The battle of the AFC East, as the plucky Bills have strung together their first 10 game win season since the Doug Flutie years.
Tom Brady has been playing ‘meh’ football thanks to a paltry receiving corp and an offensive line that has seen a lot of new faces.
The Pats D keeps them in games with Gilmore ripping the ball from anyone in sight. John Brown will have a tough matchup here.
Josh Allen will need to move his feet to get rid of the ball, as he will probably see a lot of pressure from that fast Pats D.
Beasley should have a good fantasy game, as he will probably be the X factor that the Patriots ignore.
Edeleman looks sort of injured, so don’t see him having a ripper of a game.
The Patriots will do what they do. Go up early, face a comeback, then rip the guts out of them to close it out.
Patriots WIN

Rams (8-6) vs -6 49ers (11-3)

What are the Rams doing? First they are able to string a few wins together, then they look to implode on themselves. The 49ers are hurting after their losses, seeing their position in the playoffs drop to a lowly Wildcard spot. They need a win here and will have some healthy bodies back to do it.
The 49ers front line will be all over Goff, who’s O line has been patched together with old and new.
Jimmy G should have a great game, feasting on Kittle and letting Mostert gash through whatever is left.
Goff will struggle in this win, unless he is able to master some deep ball, which is an issue for the 49ers in recent weeks.
The Niners need this win. Both teams are desperate to make the playoffs, but San Fran doesn’t want to watch all of that hard work go to waste.
49ers WIN

Antwaun Weeds

December 11, 2019 by nflinlondon

Ruh roh Raggy!
You get busted with the green stuff again?

Dallas Cowboys DT Antwuan Woods was busted this week with 2 mason jars full of herb and some glass paraphernalia.
You can hear in the video when he gets busted, that he laments for having ‘too much marijuana.’
Like he knew he had too much when he went out, then saw the cop cars and thought ‘yep, this is waaayy too much.’

Woods was already out on injury for the Bears game, and this isn’t going to help him out at all.
No word yet confirming that Woods would be fired by Dallas, but given the way that NFL owners deal with pot crimes, he could be out of a job.

Pretty crazy world we live in where some athletes are encouraged to use CBD to deal with pain and injuries, but the NFL is staunchly anti-weed.
Making it even crazier than in some states, not only would Woods not be pulled over, but even if caught-he would have got off with a warning.

A warning to all you jazz-cabbage enthusiasts out there, don’t get caught with the green-or you are going down big time.
Popping an ex-girlfriend in the jaw is still ok though. So long as you apologise.

Week 12-Sky

November 21, 2019 by nflinlondon

It’s Week 12 already! Are you ready for some football?

Sky Sports usually chooses some good’ish games to play, but they are hampered by fans across the UK who want to see their team.
There are loads of games on, but these ones look pretty good.

TNF

It’s Colts vs Texans at 1:20am Friday morning, which means a whopping 6 people will be watching this match. It should be a good game, and Wade & Ryan will preview it on the next podcast for the Week 11 review.

Seahawks vs Eagles

The Eagles are coming down from an emotional loss, where they HAD the Patriots, but squandered it away. It didn’t help that they took a bunch of injuries when they were leading 10-0.
Will they be motivated enough here to take down the high flying hawks?
It’s the battle of the birds!

Cowboys vs Patriots

‘Dem boys have been playing well, but well enough to take down Tom and Billy B? Pretty doubtful with the Patriots coming off a bye. They should be fired up at Foxboro to be able to hold them off.
This game goes late, so hope you get your rest for Monday.

Packers vs 49ers

This game would have been HUGE a few decades ago, but it should be an interesting proposition for a late Sunday game. Will the 49ers get enough guys back from injury? How will Aaron Rodgers hold up against this fast and furious game. This game starts at 1:20am, so be prepared to take Monday off!

See ya Sunday.

Ryan’s Late picks

November 17, 2019 by nflinlondon

Our own Ryan Cull makes his top picks for the 9pm (4pm) games so you don’t have to.
Is Ryan right? Generally no. But who knows this week? He made these sober so that’s a good start.

Cardinals vs -10 49ers

This is a big spread for a hurt team. Kyler Murray is a plucky sucker, so downing him 10 points will only inspire him. Big prediction here Ryan thinks the Cardinals will actually WIN! Yep, exclusive here. Bet your kids gender transition fund.

-4 Patriots vs Eagles

Brady & Billy are back from the break & ready to crumble lives. The Eagles might be that victim, but they too are motivated. Ryan likes the rested Pats to kick the birds.

Bengals vs -10.5 Raiders

Jon Gruden has his team playing competitive football. His squad is focused & playoff hopeful. 10 & a half points is a pretty big spread. Bengals should cover that embarrassing line.

Bears vs -6.5 Rams

The Bears & Trubisky are sucking hard, & they aren’t even establishing the run. Will that change this game? Jared Goff is also slumping, so this could be the battle of the suck. Bears to cover.
