Tips Ahoy-Week 14

December 12, 2021 by nflinlondon

It’s Week 14 in the NFL, which means that some of you are now totally out of your fantasy season.
Does it burn?

Now that pesky fantasy is out of the way, you can focus on some of the more important NFL things, like making some money off of it in time for Christmas.

Wade and Ryan have made their top picks for Sunday, in their Tips Ahoy-Week 14.

Ryans Tips

Ryan has been nervous for all of week 14 given that his Bills are playing the Bucs in south Florida on Sunday evening.
Will a total lack of a running game spell the end for the Bills?

Ryan’s first tip is for those Lions (+10) to keep on roaring. Fresh off a win last week, Detroit is getting itself high in Denver on Sunday.
He likes Goff and the steady play of the Lions to wreck some havoc on Teddy B and that injured Broncos team.
Lions to cover.

‘Dem Boys (-4.5) are confident that on Sunday they will prevail over the Washington FT. So confident, they guaranteed a win over Ron Rivera and the WFT.
Ryan still thinks that Dallas can’t fail in this one, and should easily cover the small spread en route to victory.

Matt Stafford and the LA Rams (+3) have a problem, they can’ win convincingly anymore.
Ryan thinks that this will end on Monday night, as the Rams will hold off the tenacious Cardinals for a big win.
He likes the Rams in a comfy win.

Who Dat at QB? No really? Who is it? It’s Taysom Hill! And he’s going to lead the Saints (-5.5) to a big win over the lowly Jets on Sunday.
New York is missing most of their receivers, so Ryan thinks that the Saints and their D should easily crush whoever suits up on the Big Apple.

If you take all of Ryan’s picks of the Lions, Cowboys, LA Rams & Saints, a £10 wager will pay out a lovely £151.20.

Wade’s Picks

Did you make some money off of Wade’s picks on Sunday? He did, with some nifty parlays that paid out on losers.

Speaking of losers, lets’ take a look at some of Wade’s hot tips for Sunday.

Urban Meyer is about to find himself isolated, as reports of bullying, calling coaches ‘losers’, and groping are just the tip of the problem in Meyer’s pants.
Luckily the Jaguars (+8.5) are facing a woeful Tennessee squad that is still hobbled by injury.
The Jaguars may not win this divisional game, but they should keep it close.

Close is how the game between the Falcons (+2.5) vs the Panthers will be on Sunday, as Matt Ryan is hoping for a win against SuperCam.
Both of these teams have been beaten by the injury bug, but Matty Ice still has his burn from TB12 etched into recent memory.
Cam is bad, Matt is better, and ATL should be it close.

Houston has more than a problem, it has an epidemic.
The franchise continues to slide, as another top coached was fired this week for no reason.
The Texans (+8.5) host Chef Russell Wilson on Sunday, and will most definitely lose, but by how much?
The Seahawks will struggle to bridge the 8.5 point gap, allowing the Texans to not get totally blown out.

The Giant neck of Mike Glennon is back, as New York (+10) heads to LA for a Sunday night game under the coastal sun.
The Chargers will be looking for blood, but let’s not forget no one really scores more than 20 points on the Giants, as their D keeps them in games they shouldn’t be in.
10 points is a lot to give to a Chargers team that took it on the chin from the Bengals last Sunday.

If you want to make some dosh off of Wade’s picks, all you have to do is select the Jaguars, Falcons, Texans & Giants. A £10 wager will net you £154.70.

13 Tips

December 5, 2021 by nflinlondon

Well, it’s already Week 13 in the NFL, where the heck did the season go?

Thanksgiving is a milky fart behind us, as the decorations set the tone for the season ahead.
With that being said, we offer you our Week 13 Tips, so that you can use our average advice to make stellar NFL picks.

Wade McElwain and Ryan Cull are fresh off their Week 12 picks, and ready to rock your world for this Sunday.

Ryans Picks

The Buffalo Bills may have won against the plucky Colts, but the division gets real this week, as the Bills host the Patriots, in what will most likely be a dildo filled afternoon.
Ryan won’t be betting on this game, but he does like his Bills to eek out a win.

Elsewhere, Ryan likes Justin Herbert and the LA Chargers (+3) to pop into Cincy and make a big old mess.
He thinks that not only will LA march into the Bengals tiger pit and cover, but that they will also win on the road as well!

The Las Vegas Raiders (-2.5) have had an abysmal turd of a season thus far, and it has nothing to do with their game play.
Coaching and injuries will be in the rear view for this game, as Ryan likes the Raiders to cause some hometown injuries to Cincinnati in a home win.

The Seattle Seahawks (+3.5) will win at home! That’s Ryan’s big pick of the week, as he has Russell Wilson and the boys dishing out justice in a tight win over the 49ers on Sunday night.
Will Russ cook again, or burn his fingers trying?

Lastly, Ryan is horsing around on the Broncos (+10) to cover on the high flying Chiefs.
While he thinks that Patrick Mahomes and company will easily dispatch Denver, it will be a lot closer than people would figure.

If you want to make money on Ryan’s brain, take the Chargers, Raiders, Seahawks and Broncos!
A £10 bet will net you £141.20

Wade’s Picks

Wade had some top tips to choose in Week 12? Did you take them?
His upsets might have paid off last week, let’s see about this week.

The New York Jets (+7) are back with Zach, as they face the Hurts-less Eagles on Sunday.
Gardner Minshew and his mania will be taking over, offering the Jets a window to cover against a Philly team looking to run.
It’s going to be cold, wet, and a miserable day for Philly.
Jets cover.

The Texans (+10) are another of the worst teams in the league, but Tyrod has a habit of making things closer than they appear.
Indianapolis Colts have a habit of losing to bad teams, and that could happen this week.
Maybe not lose, but give the Texans a bigger window than they need.

What’s up with the Washington FT (-2.5)? Losing Fitzmagic early in the season, the WFT adapted, and relied on their running game to eek out some wins over big teams.
Wade likes the WFT to disrupt the Raiders and home, and squeak out a cheeky little win while they are at it.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (+4.5) season is over. Big Ben has already been heard saying that this is his ‘last season’, and what a way to whimper out.
The Steelers at least had a playoff chance last year, but highly unlikely that they will make the playoffs this year.
With all the injuries on the Ravens squad, Wade likes the Steelers and their running game to keep it close.

If you want to take Wade’s picks of the Jets, Texans, Washington and Steelers, a £10 wager will net you a solid £151.20.
That’s some Christmas present joy right there in 13 tips!

Week 11 Picks

November 21, 2021 by nflinlondon

It’s tips ahoy NFL fans, as Wade and Ryan make their picks for Sunday.

In our Week 11 Picks, the guys try to help you find some betting value in your Sunday Funday of action.

While we don’t have any betting partners here in the UK, we do recommend you look around at some of the betting sites and offers.
Many UK betting sites aren’t very NFL savvy, so you will have to dumb down your knowledge to use them.

Clapham

What are you doing Sunday? Need a place to watch the games? Then pop into the Sports Bar and Grill Clapham, right on the high street and near the Clapham Junction station.

The SB&G-C (as we like to shorten it to) has all the NFL games you need, plus Redzone, cold beer and even hotter wings.

Book a table to avoid missing out on a table with your own TV!

Ryan’s Picks

Like a true junkie, Ryan is still coming down from his Falcons fix a few weeks ago. He’s been clean over a week now, and Thursday’s beat down by the Patriots D settled his favour on them.

This week, Ryan is big on Baltimore -5 to beat down the Bears. Despite Lamar maybe not playing, he likes the overall game of the Ravens to squish down the Bears at home.

He likes the Vikes +1 to give the Packers a home stun, taking a victory over their NFC opponents. Is this the time that the tools of Minnesota shines?

Russell Wilson & the Seahawks +2.5 should be cooking Sunday according to Ryan’s pick, as he likes them to fight off the feisty Cardinals in a drizzly home cover.

Lastly Ryan is puffy on Big Ben and the Steelers +6 to gouge out a tight match against the Chargers, keeping them within the -6 spread.

If you want Ryan’s picks, take Ravens, Vikings, Seahawks, & Steelers. A £10 wager will win you £151.20.

Wade’s Picks

Bears +5 are fighting the Ravens this Sunday at Soldier Field, but Wade is full on Beatdown mode for this one, despite losing Khalil Mack.
Wade thinks that the Bears will easily cover, and possibly win against a limp squad lacking Lamar Jackson.

Washington FT +3 has its hands full with Superman on Sunday, but let’s see how super he is.
WFT might be tuckered after an emotional savaging of the Bucs last week, or they might be even more inspired to be better than their 3 wins.
Wade thinks the Panthers will stumble at home.

The Chiefs are back, but so are the Cowboys +2.5…and Dallas just has a better team.
Perhaps Patrick Mahomes will have another stellar day, or more likely, we will see the Chiefs of the early part of the season.
Dallas can run relentlessly over Kansas City, and they will most likely do that.

Put your hands up for Detroit +13. No, seriously guys, please. Detroit could really use it.
Fresh off a tough tie against the Steelers, the Lions lose Jared Goff in a 13 point underdog game to the Browns. The same Cleveland team that got dick punched by the Patriots last week.
Detroit will lose, but not by that much. They have a heck of a running game, and nothing to lose.

If you want to roll with Wade, take the Bears, Washington, Cowboys, & Lions. A £10 wager will hit you back with £162.10

That’s it for the Week 11 tips. Let us know how you make out.

Thanksgiving

We will be hosting Thanksgiving this week at the Sports Bar & Grill Old Street, and Clapham.

Please book a table to make sure that you don’t miss out. Here’s a link to the event.

Why do UK sportsbooks suck at NFL?

August 13, 2021 by nflinlondon

With sports betting exploding around the world, we often get asked ‘what are the best websites for NFL betting’?
Surprisingly, there aren’t very many available to UK fans that actual focus on NFL games, odds and options.
In fact we always find ourselves asking ‘Why do UK sportsbooks suck at NFL’?
There are a few reasons for this, which we will explain, as well as point you in the direction of our Top 3 NFL betting websites.

Betting Britain

Britain has been betting on sports for decades, so one would assume that the betting product would be sleek, slick and easy to navigate.
Nope.
Betting in Europe is more ‘football focused’ (aka soccer) meaning that many of the betting options and parlays simply aren’t available to the public.
While the NFL betting options accelerated during the 80s’ NFL boom in the UK, it didn’t really translate into dedicated product.
Even as UK sports books increase their offerings in the face of American growth, they still lack the gumption to tailor their products to North American sports.

Moneyline

One of the biggest issues for NFL betting fans comes down to formatting.
Europe and the UK prefer the use of ‘Decimal Odds’ or

‘Fractional Odds’ when it comes to setting their weekly lines, whereas North Americans prefer the standard ‘Moneyline.’

For anyone not used to seeing odds formatted in ‘Decimal Odds’ style, it can be a confusing and intimidating style of play.
Many European sports books lazily refuse to add Moneyline odds, which essentially deprives them of a new, hungry audience.
North Americans are new to NFL betting, and intimidating them right off the bat is no way to sign up new customers.

Options

Any NFL fan who has ever walked into the sports bar of a Las Vegas casino, knows that a magical experience is about to happen.
Not only do Vegas sports bars display countless betting options, the employees who work at sports books are all too happy to help with the numerous different ways you can wager.
UK casinos rarely even sports books, as was the case when we ran events at the Hippodrome in Leicester Square.
Fans who were desperate to wager on games were pointed to the Ladbrokes down the street, which benefited HUGE from the thousands of fans who wanted to throw down money each week.
Betting became so big there, that Ladbrokes employees from down the road would attend viewing parties because they had ‘so many people coming to bet on games’, they wanted to see what it was all about.

Authenticity

Real NFL bettors usually have a weekend plan for success.
If you know which of the games on Sunday are ripe for betting, you will work out how many parlays, over-unders, and long shots you are willing to make.
Attempting to then make those wagers on a UK betting app then begins the problems.
Not only are the odds radically different from the US, but the ability to make ‘out there’ bets is only possible if you go into a shop, and find a competent worker.
While it is rewarding to burn a lazy bookmaker for not paying attention to NFL news across the pond, it’s frustrating to have to Scooby Doo down all the information from an app.

Over the years we have tried to discuss the poor NFL betting options with bookmakers, but it has always fallen on deaf ears.
Either they don’t care about making money from a massively untapped market, to they’re just lazy.

So what betting websites would we recommend?
They’re pretty limited, but here you go.

1. Bet365

When it comes to NFL betting in Europe, Bet365 seems to be the only one with their head in the game.
Not only do they offer the best betting options for the NFL, but they also have a wide selection of parlays and novelty bets on offer.
Sure, the layout is a bit laborious, but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty easy to get betting.
You can also switch between betting pricing, allowing players to compare moneyline vs decimal options.
The best past about Bet365 however is the ability to watch the games.
Provided that you have bet on some NFL matches, bettors have the option of being able to stream the game to their phone or device.
With limited viewing options in Europe, this is a ‘MUST HAVE’ feature for NFL fans, as it allows you to watch the game in real time, for no extra cost.
Expats in Europe have been raving about this option for years, as it also extends to MLB, NBA and NHL games, which are hard to find across the pond.
Bet365 has pretty good customer service as well, which is really helpful if you are looking to bet on specific options.

2. Betway

Second on the list is Betway, which has seen a drop in its NFL product in recent years.
With a very simple and straightforward layout, Betway’s NFL betting is a far simpler option than that of Bet365.
Parlays are quite easy to manipulate, and the overplay is quite crisp and simple.
Betway’s NFL product dropped in quality in 2020, so we are curious to see if they are going to improve on it.
Customer service is slow, but effective once they’re on it.

3. Paddypower

Remember when Paddypower use to be edgy and funny?
Good times.
The Irish lads have gone corporate, and it shows in their North American sports betting options.
Like Betway, the NFL offerings on Paddy are pretty straightforward.
Nothing too fancy, and there are some muddled parlays and novelty bets in the mix, although they usually look like they were assembled by a soccer fan.
Customer service at Paddy is hit and miss, and on a busy game day, you’re more likely to encounter snark than satisfaction.

We are still holding out that one day a UK sports book will actually take North American sports in Europe seriously.
With bookmakers on the continent on a frenzied mission to gobble up as many American betting properties as possible, you would think that they would actually look at what is successfully stateside and try to replicate it in Blighty.

The NFL is only going to get bigger in Europe, which bookmaker is finally ready to take it seriously?
